To all the uninitiated, back before when mobos have their own sound chips, sound cards are necessary in order to have sound coming out of your computer, and creative was the company that owned the sound card market, until one day sound chips are build into the mother boards. And then creative became an irrelevant company. They had since ventured into a few other markets, but they are at the end of the day, a sound company, like how Nikon, Canon are camera companies. And it seems they've started to venture into more gaming peripherals now. Good for them.
