What’s the name of those little terra-cotta balls the orchid is sitting on, and where can I purchase them? Your videos are very informative and I really like to watch you work/play. Thank you
I don't see the problem with wetting them when dormant in order to remove the old media so long, as you said, you allow them to dry completely and pot back into dry media. I had _a bunch_ of them I ordered from Fred Clarke in 2020 and the moss was so tight, the only way to remove it was to wet it. Didn't harm the plants in the least. Now, in Florida I don't much worry about the plants being cold for extended periods either. I think you've actually done the plant a favor by dividing it and you're more likely to get blooms this year (provided the spider mites don't attack!).
So glad to see this video. I have been looking for catasetums, glad to purchase one of yours. Thanks Micheal. I may name it after you. Hehe.
I absolutely love ALL of your videos! They are so full of information! Thanks for all you do! I can’t wait to check out your website!! 😍
I think Big birtha will bloom like a ton now that she's been divided and the roots are going to get better access to water. What a specimen!
Go glad I caught this video. I have been looking for catasetum orchids ❤️ thanks Michael

Nice start on your web site Store. Really enjoy.
I just repotted one of mine... didn't have the heart to divide it 😅 your's is in total beast mode 👍🏼
Cool video & plant, Michael! How old would you estimate that the plant was at the time of this dividing?
