Hi, I'm Mike Wionzek the Deputy Chief of the Emergency Communication Center.
Toronto paramedic service Emergency Telecommunicators are at the heart of our Communication Center.
Each year our Emergency Medical Call Takers and Dispatchers answer over 350 000 emergency requests for service.
Their voices are the first that people hear when they call for help and each call is met with compassion empathy and professionalism. These remarkable individuals provide vital instructions and support over the phone and ultimately dispatch emergency Paramedic Services throughout the city.
Our telecommunicators are supported by an experienced and knowledgeable Leadership and Education team skilled Information Technology and Administrative Teams who ensure that our service is always able and ready to respond to the needs of the community. I am grateful for their dedication and commitment every day. Thank you for all that you do and happy Toronto Public Service Week.
