I think it was easier to have real names because the games were all their own different entities every year. Then thanks to Warzone, they all got stitched together and Warzone would update to get bigger all the time, meaning if they paid for the real things, they’d have to pay more for longer use of them.
I love this. Black ops and its time line is so interesting with the backdrop of the 60s man. I no joke carry a 9x18 makarov as my conceal carry gun. It's actually such a good ccw gun. A lot of people will meme on it but man it's really good. I love my makarov. I always wanted one
Man, that's one good looking M1911! It looks somewhat weathered, it even sounds like iconic reload. Also a good looking AK47, that added tape on the front looks great, adds some realism/post apocalypse feel to the weapon. (Where you can't replace a weapon easily, you do whatever it takes to keep it working. "Nyet Ivan, rifle is fine!".
Black ops/world at war literally made me love the 1911, talk about a gun that’s also a character. A vintage ww2 one would be hard to get so I wanna get a really nice one at least, also wanna shoot a ppsh some day lmao
i love seeing the evolution of this channel, from showcasing civilian versions of guns to actually shooting some nasty beasts like the minigun. Keep up the good work.
@@shottyjonny3972Yeah, but a "black ops unit" isn't going to use a prototype weapon. They're gonna use something that is proven reliable and effective. I think the real culprit is game devs either not knowing a lot about guns, or choosing futuristic looking guns for a player base that also doesn't know much about guns, and just wants the one that looks the coolest or the most sci-fi. Same reason they put all the anachronistic optics on these guns while trying to depict an era when optics were rarely used outside of sniping. But I also think they sell their audience short. People would think the game was just as cool if they went for hardcore accuracy in the gear and weapons.
Something I always wondered, and Frosty 1 talked about this in his Black Ops 1 video, was that all of the weapons in WaW would have historically been accurate in the game by all factions, especially the Cubans and Vietnamese.
I'm amazed you own(?) most of these weapons, much less got to shoot them in one way or another. Congrats! Looks like it's off your bucket list, I'd bet!
I'd kill for a modern ASP, or something with those gutter sights. I'd also kill for a remake of Bo1, but only if they swap out all the anachronistic guns.
Great content 👍🏿 and I love the fact that you dont record with those stupid sound filters or whatever ppl are using that muffle the sound of real gun fire . 💯
I would love the ASP (and I do love the idea behind it), however those sights are AWEFUL. My friend 3D printed a replica of the sights (he was just screwing around and testing print qualities) and I tried mock aiming with those sights, he did paint them to look more authentic, I swear they gave me one of the worst ocular migraines I've ever had trying to get my eyes to focus properly.
@@justineallandevelos6491 Yeah its a real shame. A lot of these guns that are popular now because of CoD didn’t sell well when they were available in the civilian market in the 70s-80s. Civilian FAMAS are super rare and go for BIG money these days around 8-10k
in fact,Many weapons and equipment developed after the 1970s are used in this game. For example: Israeli IMI Galil assault rifle, Austrian Steyr AUG assault rifle, Soviet (Russian) AKS-74U carbine, RPK-74 light machine gun, OTs-02 Cypress submachine gun, KS-23 shotgun, Mi-24 Hind helicopter, German HK G11 assault rifle (strangely equipped with mechanical sights), HK PSG1 sniper rifle, HK MP5 submachine gun, Walther WA 2000 sniper rifle, Italian Franchi company SPAS-12 combat shotgun, SITES company ghost M4 submachine gun, Czech CZ-75 pistol, French FAMAS assault rifle, British XL64 assault rifle, American M67 grenade, M134 minigun machine gun, BGM-71 TOW missile, and red dot sights that were not born in the 1960s, ACOG optical sights, Masterkey underbarrel shotguns, M249 squad automatic weapons (used by prison guards in the campaign level "Vorkuta", it should be to save resources and reuse the model of the "Modern Warfare" series), AGS-30 Atlan automatic grenade launcher and other equipment. The official explanation is that it is due to the protagonist's memory disorder, or it may be like the "Modern Warfare" series, which uses the setting of "another parallel time and space that is somewhat similar to the real world". However, some hardcore players believe that this affects the authenticity of the game.
While Black Ops' depiction of weapons was somewhat anachronistic, the line up was certainly star-studded with notable firearms from that point of history.

Same with battlefield
Blame the gun companies, not Activision.
(Gun companies cost more than Activision)
I can hear the iconic 1911 reload sound anytime I see a vintage 1911 being reloaded
Now you mention it, i can hear it too.
That's probably because the devs sampled real gun sounds for the weapon sounds in call of duty world at war
