Hey Ford Mechanic here.. if you want to save lots of money, don't even buy the F150 Eco-boost that's what you mainly see at the maintenance shops just saying 🤷🏻♂️
Sleeping on the 3rd gen Dodge Rams. 2005 1500 owner. Beautiful "semi truck" grill, and its still on the road at 175k running strong with zero issues. Love my old truck. 👍
Chrysler and GM: "reliability
AFM and DOD: exist
=grenade
I only subscribed cause you were so positive about the Silverado, my first truck was a 5.3 chevy!!!
2010 4.6 3v ford f150 a 3k miles away to hit 200k still runs like a beast !
Never in my 30 years living here in Florida have I heard someone say "why would I need a 4wd here in FL" lol. Most people here have 4X4
LOL, you are hanging with the right people! I'm right there with you. Cheers!
Once back in 1977 I had A four-wheel-drive pull my brother-in-law‘s box truck out of sugar sand right outside of Delray beach but today, the state of Florida is pretty much all pavement. I miss the old Florida.
I heard, that the Rams have had recalls; 2008 Ford 250 Turbo Diesels, had some trans issues and recalls with the steering; 2014 Chevy Silverado had electrical and Transmission issues.
The 2010-2021 Toyota Tundras are well made trucks and you can expect 400k miles.
My 2019 ram 4th gen has the 5.7 and the German made ZF 8 speed transmission under the hood. The truck has been flawless so far. What sold me on the the ram was the power train. The interior also was part of it. I traded my 2004 Nissan titan for it, and that truck ran good but it had paint and interior issues. I almost brought a Nissan XD with the Cummings 5.0, but elected for ram. The rams tow rating was almost as strong as the XD. But those of use the brought an older truck with a V8, no matter it a GM, Ram, Ford, Chevy and Toyota we're real lucky to have an V8. These new models wont have a V8, and these turbo charged 6 bangers will have some issues for the first couple of years and may not last as long as a V8. Also the EVs are for suckers....
Definitely! This sounds right on the money to me! I think you got yourself an awesome truck.
Same. I have a 2019 Bighorn. 120k miles still on the same brakes. Only repair needed was an electrical issue with the 4wd buttons. Love the truck.
Loved the list, but I had to go outside your advice on this one.
I just picked up a 1974 Chevy Suburban K20 4x4 for 2 grand!
Yes,...it runs and drives like new and has a title.
Thanks for the advice anyways.
2014 2500 4x4 crew cab 6.0 is great no problems
I have taken a stock 97 Sebring off the beaten path (rock crawling) the frontier can definitely to off-roading let’s be real.
02 to 2011 are the best years for Chevy 1500 to 3500 ! Hands down 🦾
I own a 17 silverado the transmissions in these truck both the 8 speed and six speed are horrible. Everyone I know with these models have had to replace them with less than 100,000 miles.
Facts 😂😂 got a 67k 2018 Silverado with 5.3L 6speed with a stuck lifter. Most ppl I know with these models have had transmission issues.
Looking at a couple 3-06 GMC Silverados. Is there any difference in durability between the 4L, 4.8L and 5.3 L engines?
You know, I do hear good things about the other motors as well. I can only say that the 5.3 is a staple for most people because of its reliability. I also know it’s a sought after motor for tons of swaps. Many shoot for 6.0+ LS motors, but also go for 5.3LS motors for reliability, ease of swap, and power. Hope that helps.
I have a 2016 Sierra Z71 with the 5.3. hasn't treated me bad yet with the 6 speed. Hate the cylinder deactivation and brake grading which i may figure out how to deactivate. If i went for another truck honestly i would look at around 2019 and up f-150 with the 5.0 coyote or the late model Toyota tundra with the 5.7. sucks that Toyota went to just having a turbo 6 but i guess they're trying to follow Ford and get more gas mileage over the 5.7 that was in it. Personally id pay more to fill the tank and have a lower repair bill. Let the truck for the weekend or tough jobs and get an a to b daily car to go to work in through the week.
I have 2014 Ford F 150 crew cab with 118 k miles and transmission is gone.
Damn! Sorry to hear that. I’m not a big Ford guy, but I respect it. That blows though. Anyone out there hook this guy up with a transmission or a Chevy!
The FORD RAPTOR is one sweet ride! I was driving my wife's Toyota Matrix, and saw a Ford Raptor - it took my breath away man! That is one sweet ride!!!
I’m so over my matrix xrs and want a truck. I’ve owned 20 cars and zero truck. Ready for a manly vehicle that I can actually get out to the desert in.
17k is all I can afford so it’s hard to find anything
When you said your dad had a 2020 it tells me new trucks aren't ment to last!
Hahah, I hate to say it, but my Dad is bougie AF. Dad if you see this, you are bougie AF. lol.
My f150 2013 was recently totaled, looking for a new to me truck
Love ford but the coyotes are hard to buy and ecoboost I don’t trust
I’ve owned 3 dodges in my life, no good experience
I leaning towards a 2015 Chevy
I drive 30 k a year mpg is an issue for me
I was kind of liking what you were saying , UNTIL . You mentioned Jeeps in the same sentence with a Tundra . Unless you need a beater truck . Pre 2020 Tundra is the way to go !!
They both hold value haha. All I was saying! I hate Jeeps. Lol. I also gotta say that the Jeep gladiator is not a truck either. And any “truck” with a center counsel instead of a jump seat that turns the front seats into a bench, is just an SUV with a bed. Thanks for the comment. Tundras are dope!
Hmm ok , tell ya what . You buy a sweet med size SUV from Jeep and I'll buy one from Toyota . Then 3 yrs from now let's see which " holds its valve " ... Ya in ?? Nothing without a frame , is a truck . Which will include .the new Toyota , if they make it . @@CoffmanHouse
It's absolutely insulting to talk about jeep and tundra in the same conversation! Jeeps are garbage ugly boxes on wheels! SMH!
Every since I first saw one of those over 100K Jeep Grand Wagoneers on a lot . I have tried to figure out . Who the F would buy one of those POS for lexus $$ ?!? @@fredwilliams7893

How you could make a top 10 used truck list without the 2nd G Tundra seems half-hearted
at best.
Opps guess i should have watched the whole video, also Tundra should be #1 lol
Hi! I’m thinking of getting a preowned mid- or full-sized pickup truck as daily work truck. I have a commute of 40 mile one-way (1.5 hrs) then another 1hr drive home in horrid SoCal traffic. I haul mostly network cabling installation equipment in the bed, and do not tow.
What brand, model year, engine and grade do you recommend? I would like to have some of the newer active safety features such as the automatic emergency braking system to avoid front collisions, but not as critical as long-term reliability and durability. Any suggestions for a late model pickup truck with Direct and Port Injection. Also, what immediate and affordable engine and transmission mods for reliability and durability do you recommend to protect the powertrain? I’m not looking for more power, just long-term reliability and durability as I don’t have too much money and need a truck for work and personal use. Thank you!
Is the ford ranger a good candidate?
Danger rangers can last a long time. My brother had one, and it was a pretty awesome little tank.
Fanboy gonna fanboy. The only GMs on your list worth a crap are the cat eyes. The Duramax is the worst of the diesels, and those 14 to 18 Silverados are straight junk.
I got myself a cateye. Lol. But I love this comment. Tell me you got a dip in right now and wear boots to work without telling me. Haha. Appreciate the honesty.
2007-2013 Silverado 5.3 biggest POS ever. AFM screwed those engines up.
@@itrxppie4221 Oh I know. I still have my 2007 but it's showing AFM issues

it’s hard to take someone’s advice on trucks and engines when they keep calling them motors
motor (noun)
any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion: such as
a: a small compact engine
b: internal combustion engine
especially : a gasoline engine
c: a rotating machine that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy
@@CoffmanHouse a motor is electric. tesla has motor, not an engine, a rocket has an engine not a motor, see the differences? sure some hillbilly call it crate motor but they’re wrong. an engine has combustion a motor turns lil
Ok this one is for the hillbillies. Again tomatoes tomaatoes. Motor and Engine are often used interchangeably. Motor = electrical, Engine = combustion. True. But, I said what I said. Let me come to your table and tell you what you should be saying, see what I mean? We ain't stupid, we just say things differently. It's a crate motor! @@IRBry
2014 chevy is the worst yr.. electrical problems, fuel managment system sucks, better off with a older one.
Was hoping you were gonna give some insight on the most reliable trucks but instead you just kept talking about what they look like 🤔 wasted my time on this video.
And wasted your time writing this comment as well. Watch the video again turd.
