Hi, I'll be camping at Kirk Creek Campground in early October, and it seems like the closest beach for surf fishing is Sand Dollar Beach, about a 10-minute drive from where I'm camping. I'm not sure if you may have fished Sand Dollar Beach before, but it may be somewhere close to where you go out and surf fish. I'm familiar with fishing in Southern California using LC 110s and Carolina rigs with grubs and sandworms. Do you think these would be suitable for Sand Dollar Beach, or are there any other techniques or baits I should consider? Thanks for your advice!
"Vermillion" sung to the tune of "The Simpsons" I just love vermillion! Damn, that is a lot of cranking (400') to land some fish! I hope the charter was using a descending device to safely return throwbacks. Up here on the North end of the State, vermillion are found in 40-50' of water, a lot less cranking! I always love your videos! Thanks for posting.

When I went out 50 fathoms, I fortunately found a 6pack charter with electric reels. Absolutely worth it
We can find schools of shallow reds too, but we typically find more other species mixed in thicker out deep.
