I was one of those women and I was very broken. It was a mess. And that goes for men I tried to date also in that realm - so much narcissism and ego, which is very ironic given it’s about ‘releasing the ego’. I taught yoga and it made me also more narcissistic because I felt I cared about the students but I was also somehow above them. I’m very embarrassed about that now and have repented. But yeah, I don’t recommend it either. Now when I meet guys in the new ago it’s a turn off. And I also feel a lot of compassion because I get being in that illusion. It used to be sexy in a way so I get the appeal. But the truth behind that appeal is a lot of broken people in need of Jesus. It took me many years to find my way back to God. I think it’s also appealing to want to help, but until someone is ready to accept Jesus into their heart, you will struggle with them as a partner.
I used to be in the New Age, Jesus saved me a little over a year and a half ago. I studied astrology since I was 13, so almost 15 years. I relate a lot to her story, even in regards to her grama - I lost mine too, at 11. In regards to “sovereignty”, that is so big in New Age. I haven’t had social media for almost 3 years now but remember the people I followed and the people I had in my life, all women, from the ages of 25 - 40 years old, who are in the New Age, a lot of them Kundalini practitioners, talking about their sovereignty over their lives and their sovereign divine being. We are no where near sovereign. It’s such a tragedy but I do believe God is intending good with so many lost souls in the New Age and He will reveal Himself to many. Thank you Apologia Studios and Cultish for having these conversations. God Bless xx
What a beautiful testimony! It is amazing how this beautiful young woman eventually found Jesus! astrology and tarot can become an addiction. I did a podcast how I was addicted to both for decades. I would look at the tarot for everything. My life revolved around readings. I know others who are like this. All the while, as I said in my show, that I fooled myself that it was making me more spiritual or closer to god. Couldn't be further from the truth. I basically just spent hours playing solitaire.
What fascinates me is the appropriate orthodox view of many of these New Age practices. Many Christian simply throw the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to some of these objective occult truths. Things, like Leylines, the laws of vibration, the science of sound/Cymatics, which would fit right in there with the laws of vibration, the power of words, laws of attraction. Etc. these things have merit and should not be so easily dismissed.
I have listened to so many former New Agers and their stories always give me hope. (Steven Bancarz, Jessica Smith, Doreen Virtue among many others). I am so happy for them that God pulled them out of the darkness and into the light. Not the fake light, the real light. There is often much overlap in experiences between them and all of them say the same thing about Yoga. I've tried to gently tell some of my Christian friends about Yoga (they both practice) and they pretty much brushed me off with excuses that their yoga is somehow different. Stories like Angela's also give me hope because I have a daughter who was raised as a Christian and when she left HS she actually wanted to be a missionary. Now she has found her way into some real darkness. I pray all the time for God to lead her back and for her to choose Him again. I'm just believing that God is using it all as part of her journey and she'll come back in a powerful way. Thanks for these incredible stories.
Pray without ceasing! Augustine was well into adulthood before his mothers prayers were answered. And not only were they answered and he simply became a Christian, but he became one of the most influential ones and a titan of the faith.
The most important thing now is that she can find a bible-teaching church that can feed her and other believers that can come around her and bathe her in prayer. The enemy will not be happy about losing her and he will attack her. Praise God that you found THE LIGHT! You are a new creation!

They know they sin. NO. NO THEY DO NOT!!!!!!
I have similar background to Angela. However, my trauma came from combat. There are many combat veterans who have dove deep into the occult through masonry and the likes. The Army can be a very dark place. I brought up as a Christian. Trauma can have devastating effects. Which in my place led me deep into the occult. 2 of my psychologists for PTSD were witches. Which compounded my problems even more. For Angela I want to say this. Angela, you are not alone. I know what you mean when you say you feel sad for your past person. That’s always been a struggle for me. I believe God has spoken to my heart about writing a book. And I’m not even a good writer. But there are so many people out there who have been blinded by these esoteric practices. And our voices is needed. Now that you have been called by God into his family he will use you in ways you can’t imagine. Also, allow your self to grow, not worrying about having all the answers. I am still figuring particular things out about scripture, my life, and the world he placed is in. We’ll never know it all. But the journey is worth some of the war wounds we gather along the way. My prayers abound in your direction. You are a tremendous blessing.

Here's a question: do the stars and the sky actually give us forewarnings from God, and we've just forgotten how to properly do it? There's a few things that give me reason to consider this. The moving star from Bethlehem (yeah, I get it-- it was probably an angel); but it *still* was a star. And then, there's the sign that appeared in the sky near when Jesus was born (the same sign as described in Revelation chapter 12). It just makes me wonder.
That is a good question . The star from Bethlehem etc are not the same as astrology as astrology is divination which God asked us not to practice. I'm interested in the answers to your question 🙂
@@vanessaram2087 _The star from Bethlehem etc are not the same as astrology as astrology is divination which God asked us not to practice._ *Exactly.* It's not the same as astrology. What I wonder is if the stars truly do display "signs and times" as described in Genesis-- and astrology is just a twisted, broken remembrance of that.
Such a good question. I had the same question recently and this is where I arrived at after some research and reflection: The stars in the sky are like clockwork and watching their patterns to predict events on earth is what astrology does. Shamans become fluent in other patterns of nature to predict the future . This is placing trust in the fallen world (creation) and it's cycles. It's like denying the sovereignty of God . The star of Bethlehem is different because no one could have predicted it except by special revelation from God. It wasn't part of the regular pattern. Utilizing divination and astrology is like trying to harness the power of creation for your own will. Paradoxically it's also like becoming a slave to creation. If you've ever gotten into astrology you'll know exactly what I mean. It feels like you are a slave to the stars. A helpless feeling. Trusting God is submitting yourself to His Will. He is above creation because he is the Creator. He is not bound by the patterns of creation. By trusting God and aligning yourself with His Will you are also not bound to the cycles of creation.
Luke 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his RIGHT MIND (sound mind): and they were afraid.
Have you guys done an episode on the “all seeing eye”? It seems like no biblical circles have an answer for it. Some resources even say it’s a biblical representation of the Trinity and God’s omnispective (all-seeing) attribute. It’s on the dollar bill, it’s traced back to early Christian days, and it goes as far back as Egyptian history. Do y’all have an answer for this to help us defend our faith in that area?

Is the Word not written on all mens hearts, therefore no matter what we are bound by the laws of creation, unfortunately freewill gives us the power to either choose foolish/sensible choices and then we end up creating or own futures

So yoga is bad? Astrology is a confusion? “Following your heart” is a new age concept? … through what faculty do you think Christ communes with us? The brain? The mind?
God in His word warns us that the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9), and that the stars were given for marking time and seasons (and as a display of His creative glory), but that we are to come to Him and His word when seeking wisdom (James 1:5, Psalm 119:105). Our hearts lead us so easily to idolatry, and He is protecting us by forbidding divination and seeking hidden knowledge apart from Him, because it so often opens the door to our spiritual enemy. Yoga is another such "door" and is rooted in the pantheistic belief that God and man are one...really just a form of self-worship masquerading as high-level spirituality. Christ speaks to us through the God-breathed Word, and the Holy Spirit makes it alive and active and personal to His people. It's a beautiful communion, even on the days when you don't feel "all the feels." Truth is a beautiful gift.

I know others who are like this. All the while, as I said in my show, that I fooled myself that it was making me more spiritual or closer to god. Couldn't be further from the truth. I basically just spent hours playing solitaire.
Yes 👏 👏👏👏👏👏I even got caught up with new age without realizing how far gone I was into it, glad I got out of it 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful woman and testimony, hallelujah! I was also radically saved out of new age 2020!

People now are programmed to “accept” every kind of behavior! We encourage these behaviors because they are “being themselves” and how dare we judge them or tell them they need mental help or spiritual help! That’s my opinion of why no one around her was helping her. They simply did not want to offend. And also anyone else living as an unbeliever certainly will not see a problem with another person living that way.

Do people have to be baptized in the name of Jesus to be saved?
@@vanessaram2087 _The star from Bethlehem etc are not the same as astrology as astrology is divination which God asked us not to practice._
*Exactly.* It's not the same as astrology. What I wonder is if the stars truly do display "signs and times" as described in Genesis-- and astrology is just a twisted, broken remembrance of that.
@@Benjamin-un1wl No. Not necessary for salvation. But what does that have to do with my question?
Such a good question. I had the same question recently and this is where I arrived at after some research and reflection:
The stars in the sky are like clockwork and watching their patterns to predict events on earth is what astrology does.
I can relate so much!! Praise God that I got out of that life🙌🏼
Luke 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his RIGHT MIND (sound mind): and they were afraid.

Have you guys done an episode on the “all seeing eye”? It seems like no biblical circles have an answer for it.
