    Hello Wendy, I am yet to start my new passion of paint pouring but I had not seen anything like this before! You have inspired me so much. Before I found this painting, I had started a Reno in my home. I still have much to do & have had to decide to wait to start this new endeavor till my remodeling is done or I will not get it finished at all. It’s been difficult to have to wait but it’s for the best! The Beautiful Creations you have given me has jumped my mind into overdrive! I just want to be able to get organized and setup a Craft Room. I have enough supplies to do a lot of work,(Play), & it’s all in boxes in my bdrm! I barely have walking room to get thru it to use the bathroom.
    I think that you must be Blessed by the hands of God to Create such Beautiful Art!
    Thank You for putting your Vids on here for me to enjoy! I consider it special from one Friend to another. Where are you from? I think I detect a Canadian accent! I live in Washington State about 3 hours or so South of BC, Canada. Like your works of art, it is as beautiful as it can be. I hope you will have continued success and stay safe so you can create even more.
    Thanks again, Newburyport to this stuff, JilliBean

    Hi Wendy! Need your advice. I'm almost done replicating this beautiful project. I changed the colors a bit but otherwise, I have followed your instructions and it looks fantastic. Tomorrow I am finally adding the crushed glass and glitter. I'd like to know, once I'm done and given it time to dry, then brush off all the excess glitter and crushed glass, do you add something overtop of the crushed glass and glitter, to prevent pieces from falling off in the future or prevent cutting yourself when you touch the crushed glass? I want to put my painting above my headboard but I want to ensure i don't wake up with a few pieces of crushed glass that could accidently break off during the night or to prevent me from having sparkles in my hair, should some fall off. lol You know like put a coat of mod podge over it perhaps?

    I love the look of this piece. I still think it may have looked ok without the seams covered. But I just love the colours and how you did the main piece with less glass and more coloured glitter I think it brings the sparkle of the crushed glass more. I don’t think you need any more crushed glass around the other canvas I think it will take away from the mail piece

    Can you tell me where you showed how you put on the mirror tiles around the frame? I'm thinking you put the side of the frame first (full width) and the top of the canvas squares to extend further then the frame to hide the width of the side tiles? Also i got the self adhesive tiles from Amazon, couldn't find them at the Dollar Store or Michaels, do I have to put glue too or just the self adhesive works?

    placing the command strips in the centre means you can't remove them because you can't access the pull tabs. saw tooth hooks (picture hooks attached before) will hang soooooooo much better. i have done a few of your ideas, tweeking as i go.

    Happy New Year Wendy and your family. This is stunningly elegant. I feel that adding more crushed glass on the the back canvases could potentially take away from the elegance of the main piece. Glitter and bling is always appreciated, but taking it too far can be too much.

    This is so beautiful, i purchased my canvases 6 months ago, but it's taken me this time to finally go ahead and try to do it. This will be the first painting I ever make so i've been terrified of screwing it up. Yes sadly i'm a perfectionist, so the thought of failing this has preventing me from doing the painting to date. The only question I have is, are the mirror tiles and the rhinestones, self adhesive? I've tried to get the mirror tiles from dollarama but can't find them. Is there somewhere else I could get them?

    • @wendydevereaux
      @wendydevereaux  2 роки тому

      Hi Nicole and thanks so much for watching! You got this! 🤗 Amazon has lots of suppliers for the mini mirror tiles and, yes, all has adhesive backing. If you’re nervous about the striping effect, practice on a piece of cardboard or scrap wood. Now, dive in, my friend 😂

    • @nicolefournel-hartery8187
      @nicolefournel-hartery8187 2 роки тому

      @@wendydevereaux Lol Great minds think alike, I tried Amazon and found them.. Thank you! Because my back wall is deep blue, i had to go light on my back panels. So I took cardboards last night, put 2 different shades of blue and the same for the teal. Then, I divided them into sections 3 or 4, to see the difference if I used white, silver, teal or for the blue panels, 2 different kinds of blue extra fine glitter. Doing this also helped me to work with the product to know how much of it to use, This was a great thing to do because i noticed that even if some of the paints were exactly the same make and brand, I found out some are more think then other paints paints. All I also tested doing your technique on the front panel, making one the way you show us, and the other painting all the teal streaks with one paint brush, then light teal with another, and so on for white and 2 different shades of blue. Then the on the cardboard using my technique, blend them together using 1 paint brush. They both turned out great but honestly the way you showed us how to do it turned out best. So today with the panels all dried, I was able to figure out what color to do my back panels and which glitter color to use on them. SO,I DOVE IN! lol My husband saw me set up all the panels, I have a king bed, so i went with size 20"x24", and a smaller one for a separate wall trying another of your designs, he was laughing. This is the first attempt at painting in my life, so yup, you know why he was laughing. I was going with French Blue for the 2 back panels but because my walls were dark I used a lot of white to create my own shade of blue. Not knowing if I could duplicate the color shade exactly, rather then do one a day, I did all 4 panels today, to have the same blue tint. I'm wiped right out, I don't know how you make ii look so easy? I got paint all over and it took me 4-1/2 hours to do all 4 including the clean up time afterwards, lol Being a perfectionist didn't help, I kept going over and over with my paint colors on the top panel. But you know what, they look soooo good right now, but only the painting is done, plenty of different steps ahead for me to screw it up. lmao I know you put the mirror tiles next but seeing the kind of mess i make, i'm thinking that only on the back panels, i will add the glitter first, you know so that the glue doesn't touch the mirror tiles. What do you think or will the glue and glitter prevent the mirror tiles and other bling from sticking to the mat?

    • @wendydevereaux
      @wendydevereaux  2 роки тому

      @@nicolefournel-hartery8187 Oh, Nicole, thank you so much for making me chuckle this morning 😂 I absolutely loved reading your comment because I, too, am a bit obsessed with needing everything perfect, so I feel your pain and your husband’s 😂 I have put the mirror tiles over glitter but made sure the glitter wasn’t too thick and also used tacky glue on the back of the tiles for extra “stick” I think the trick is to make sure the glitter is evenly spread out and not lumpy so they lay flat. Oh, and don’t forget to breathe lol. 😘

  • @nicolefournel-hartery8187
    @nicolefournel-hartery8187 2 роки тому

    My saw my progress on a duplicate of what you made and he loves it. I was afraid that the 6000 glue on the large sticks to hold the canvases together, wouldn't be enough so after they were installed and dry, I had him predrill holes at each end and middle of each stick, then put a screw in each hole. Then, for added security, he predrilled 4 holes in total, using slightly longer screws, to go thru 1-1/2 frames. You know the areas you first put the crushed glass, to hide the seam where the top panel touches the bottom panels? So at each end of the seam, where the frames overlap. it's perfect. You just have to make sure you first let the sticks dry overnight, then to predrill the holes to prevent the wooden sticks from cracking when you install the screws and as you tighten the screw, if the wood starts to crack, stop and leave it in. Of course, use screws that in length won't go thru the canvas. lol I was just terrified that if the painting is being hung above our headboard, it wouldn't fall down. I am taking a picture of what i did in case you ever want to see what I mean. lmao Thank you so much for teaching us how to try and duplicate your beautiful work and ideas. In stores, what you make could be very expensive to buy.
