Oh it just makes me want to scream in frustration! Remember how much Zwart prided himself on being this director who REALLY got the books and whose number 1 priority was to convey the amazing relationships between the characters in the movie? How it was going to be all about the depth and emotion of the story as opposed to just another action flick? He didn't even show how Jace actually loved Valentine or how heartbreaking and traumatic it was for Clace to find out they're related. #EpicFail

I have no idea I thought the casting was perfect in the movie and that this could have been one of the biggest franchises ever.Abd would have loved to see who they would have cast for the characters that come later on the series.The only thing is I wish they would have made it a little longer because it felt like it was being too rushed.

I remember being so stoked when he was chosen for Jace and fiercely defending him in front of all the haters, saying "Just you wait for this amazing movie and you'll see that Jamie will embody all of Jace's traits, complexity and emotional depth, and you'll be eating your words!". And then this asshole director dulls Jace down to mostly being this love-struck guy which Jamie still managed to portray flawlessly despite so much wasted potential :(
The only thing that really annoyed me about the movie was that they changed the ending to the book. I just think they should have kept it the same because it's important to the next two books. Valentine is meant to get all three Mortal Instruments for the events of City of Glass to happen and I just don't know how their going to go with that.
Yeah remember when she got on the motercycile w/ Jace and she opend her jacket ad it was on the inside pocket? There going to have to find some way to have the cup (the real one) because of what happens in the third book and Valentine cant be dead because of the third book also ( sorry for suck a long comment )
mabey the fake cup was in the card istead of the real one!! And what i thought when the portal was blown up was: Well ...... there is no reson for portal training any more!! :)
i know it didn't follow the story word for word but they can;t do that really it wouldn't work on screen, but i felt the essence of the books the feelings and everything really came through, he actors really got into their characters well and the film people picked some incredible actors, so i was really pleased with the film! there were quite a few points where i was screaming ohhhhhhh no the didn't just do that! but i understand that it needed to be done
Im 26 huge fan of the series & thought the movie was great.Jamie wanted to play Jace as vulnerable& dark, he wasnt just love-struck.Good choice for you to care about the character in only 2hrs. As for there being no depiction of how traumatised Clace was at the realisation?did you not watch the scene?Jace had tears in his eyes & Clary was crushed.Harald focused on Jace protecting Clary against Valentine,how Jace feels about Valentine will probably be focused on more in the 2nd one. Just chill
uhm... I liked the movie, a lot actually. I thought Jaime brought Jace to life for me honestly. He breathed personable traits into him =/ As for the father part - well, they did make it so Jace had a mind block on him, so - there's that. It'll be interesting to see how they move forward in the next movie. A ton of things were changed from the book, but I still enjoyed the performances... enjoyed them enough to watch the film 3 times... in theaters.

Also, how interesting that since the movie has tanked, Cassie has retracted her earlier statement by saying that she actually didn't have very much of a say in the filming process at all. I'm devastated that the movie based on my favourite book series of all time has been completely butchered thanx to Hollywood's idiotic "artistic liberties", subpar script and awful screenwriting. :(

IMHO it's because of the shitty script, the worst director and the most incompetent screenwriter who turned this awesome story into some kid of demon mutant of the original. It had a really solid bunch of actors, a great source material and so much potential but was destroyed by those Hollywood egomaniacs who just used the outline of the book and filled in the rest with their own "grandiose ideas" of what this movie *should be* instead of READING and sticking to the core of the fucking book.

I was disappointed about some aspects of the movie but I really liked Jamie as Jace and the guy that played Simon also did great.

In the movie, I think Valentine still had the cup when Clary kicked him into the portal :)

I think the reason they did that was so that if they didn't get to continue making the rest of the movies they would have a way to conclude it.
