You are the only guy on youtube that I know of that uses a joystick for there PC racing games like me. I don't understand how guys play Need For Speed 2 SE on other games with the arrow keys! Nice gameplay I could never get to the end of the game.
I confirm that play on the keyboard is a bad idea. I just finished this game and it's hard to overtakes another cars, especially at high speed. I love to ride: Lotus, Lamborghini and Ferrari.
I remember playing this in all 4 colors (CGA) since it required inserting floppy that I didn't have for 16 colors (EGA). It took me some time switching from TD turning when you need to turn wheel back to what we now understand as normal steering :) BTW: Some time ago I tried playing it again and I have some problems with keyboard acting like I'm writing
I do for most newer games, but for some of the older ones I use the keyboard as well. Analog controls were not always so great... it's the opposite in Test Drive though, it's almost impossible to play well using the keyboard!
Incredible! I had a Sinclair PC200 (8086 with floppy and CGA screen) and I used to own this game, keyboard as well! I t looked MUCH worse on CGA though, hahaha!
OMG the sound is just soooo horrible, why did they even add "music" to that. Good that my parents got me a C64 back then and I learned this game on the C64 where it sounded just fantastic :)

The keyboard support is horrible in this game. It's very hard and infuriating to play without an analog controller.
