I haven't finished the video yet, so I'm not sure if Roffle realizes this later. But C'thun gains *more* stats from minions dying, not less. It used to be +1/+1 for every two minions dying, a rate of 0.5 per minion. Now it's +2/+2 for every three minions dying, a rate of 0.67 per minion. The deck changes probably helped a little, but that's the main buff they did to C'thun.
Honestly, the deck change felt much better. Good cards instead of random tokenish garbage

Roffle thought Illidan healed, so he probably assumed he was 3 off instead of 1

The deck was very fluffy as well, with cards from classes that support C'Thun

80 health was cool in a raid boss way but it massively dragged out matches and showed how crap cthun was.
He wasn't good at 80 either, it just meant your execution would happen over the next hour.

I think cthuns biggest problem is that he has to die for doomcaller to reshuffle him in. By the time he dies and you have doomcaller, there is no good chance to play it without setting yourself massively behind on board value

i feel like rework is more accurate then buff. The deck is slightly better, and the improved passive is nice for when you dont discover ushers of souls, but the 45 health nerf is huge. One of Cthuns best matchups before was lerroy just because of the amount of health.
eyestalk of cthun is *really* good but it's a single card, just like plague of flames. the rest of the deck barely got better from what I've seen

Roffle had lethal with spell damage off the hero power into the 2 damage battlecry and *3* from pop-up book
Pretty slick makin' the video 30:30.
I actually liked the old Dr Boom deck better. Sure i now get 1 armor per dead mech but realistically the extra health buffer was just better. And the old list felt like it was more consistently able to hold onto the board than the new one.

the thing is, cthun has ALWAYS been an "otk finisher", you are litterally incentivized to NOT play it early if it doesnt kill

It’s not his fault he’s tied to one of the worst legendaries required for the mode
I couldn't tell you what Twist Guff does, his passive or HP
I've been playing loads of guff he's great! Lucky I had him lying around, pretty sure it was my first barrens legendary

His passive is something about attack to armor and his hp is just the dh regular hp, I think

C'thun may still suck but at least most of the new decks look strong and fun! Been playing the elite tauren champion because i love taunt warrior and its been a blast so far.

i don't play hearthstone, but i know a bit about World of Warcraft lore. if this is the "buffed" version of literally one of the four "Old Gods" that came for a potential "world soul" i would had stopped playing hearthstone just for that reason.

How can i gold my c'thun?
I'm not positive but I think if you have the golden version in your collection thats how it works in Twist. But I dont recall how people got gold C'thun during his release

Wow, Blizzard finally understood that tweaking numbers isn't the perfect solution to anything ?
They always knew, and stated that health changes were temporary, as they were planning on deck and effect changes on the actual patch and not the hotfixes, several times
Finally playable? Every match I played in twist last weekend was against C'thun
c'thun isn't playable because marin is completely broken and nothing comes close. Marin completely broke the twist meta and made every other hero unplayable

The deck and his aura were buffed, the Health buff was never intended to be permanent

Blizzard doesn't care about you, the maximum interest is in the profit, and it achieves this by "normalizing" the game, that is, manipulating the events that should be random favoring the player who must win the match, in this way it balances an otherwise very unbalanced game and makes otherwise inept players still win games.
