- Long awaited episode on Bologna and Modena, Italy. I travel around Emilia-Romagna; Italy's breadbasket in search of life changing food. Tortellini in brodo, Bolognese, Prosciutto di Parma, truffle, etc. Hint: It didn't disappoint!
Be sure to watch until the end to discover the real balsamic vinegar as I sample aceto balsamico at a multi-generational home.

Marvellous video, dear Eric! Thank you very very much. We are going to relocate in Modena possibly.
My pleasure. Fantastic idea, I hope it works out for you!
Nice video! I like the balsamic tasting.
Thank you! That's my favorite part too :)
Get in my belly with that Bolognase it looked so delicious. Those ladies who were making the pasta looked like they knew what they were doing. Italy just looks like a food paradise to me!
Those ladies are straight up wizards. Idk how they make pasta so good. Definite food paradise in Bologna
Lovely video, Eric. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
The Modena Balsamic Vinegar tour! We used to live an hour away from it, but never actually went (still regretting that one). Love the historical vignette at the end of the tour. Great video Eric!
Thanks as always!
Thanks as always!
We went to Italy several years ago and loved it. The food is great there. The coffee is the best.
The food is really an eye opening experience. Where in Italy did you go? Thanks for the comment!
@@EricExplores Rome. We did all the touristy stuff. 😂
Haha you got to! Rome is my all time favorite city. But I lived there for a bit, so I’m biased lol
We've been to Italy many times but never to Modena. Thanks for sharing all this amazing food. c/t
You’d love it there, hope you can get over there soon!
Osteria Francescana is on my list! Has been for years! I was so hoping you would show it in this video! So unfortunate that you couldn't get in! Loved this video! Fantastic!
That was the hope. But worked out in the end! Good life lesson 👌🏼 Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed watching :)
Wow, you really went to food heaven! So many amazing spots tht I'd love to visit. The balsamic tour was really interesting to see
Thanks so much! Appreciate it. That was my favorite part to shoot :)
Wooow all the food looks absolutely delicious! We have to go to Italy ASAP 😍 c/t
the wine.. ooh I love red wine, nice video story of your explore eric
Thanks Senja. The wine is fantastic in Emilia-Romagna, and it’s a little cheaper than Tuscany which has more brand recognition!
Italy is on our bucket list! Thanks for sharing. c/t
Nice! Hope you have an awesome trip! Which cities are you going to check out??
Good question, we are not at the stage yet to select where we want to go.
Thanks for this post. We are planning a trip next year, covid permitting, for a 4 weeks stay in Italy. Bologna and Modena are on my radar, and will stay in Bologna for a few days.
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful. Hope you have a great trip
Hey Eric :) Good job on the video! Definitely found it interesting esp as I'm a foodie myself! - Triple P

You’d love it for sure. Hope you go soon!
this video is great you deserve more subsrcibers
Thanks so much! Appreciate you watching
In Emilia Romagna you can eat very well even in a gas station. I'm from that region and I can assure you that you don't need to spend $500 at the Osteria Francescana to eat super well. On this note I would like to point out that the balsamic vinegar dish you had was probably not 100% the "aged balsamic vinegar" unless you paid $ 500 for that dish. try to buy a bottle of real balsamic vinegar and you know waht I mean. Nevertheless there are excellent vinegar reduction that taste pretty good. I would like to point out that neither the Blognese ragu' nor the lasagna has any tomato sauce in it.
Bologna, beautiful city
💯
Maybe our favorite meal EVER was a 5 course meal in the Amalfi Coast, Italian food is just the best!
I believe it! Can’t beat Italian food 👌🏼🇮🇹
Uhuhuh I spent 30 years of my life in BoloTown!nice to see it again!!!
The luckiest person in the world ✌🇮🇪❤
Aaaahh, making me want to go back to Italy!!! That pasta looked so delicious and I love balsamic vinegar. I sampled a lot of it at the markets there, haha. Did you take your dog to Italy also??? We did for a month this year. Great video! c/t
You should totally go back! Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics. That actually wasn’t my dog. It was the owner’s at the acetaia. Turns out the dog passed away recently 😔
Oh we'll definitely go back again. Italy is a family favorite! Poor doggy 😥
Perfetto 🇮🇹👌🏼
Wow, I'm going to Italy soon and now I really can't wait to go there and EAT !!! x c/t
Awesome! Where you heading?
@@EricExplores Napols !! :)
Nice! Make sure you have pizza at Da Michele. Very famous and just incredible 😋 Buon viaggio!
We used to live in the Veneto region of Italy and nearly visited the Modena balsamic vinagre tasting experience. Kind of sad we didn't do it. c/t
Wow, that must have been an awesome time though. Were you living in Venezia?
Never liked Tortellini until my wife force fed it to me one day, I bet the quality and taste is way better in Italy than in USA.
Haha certainly a great way to discover tortellini for the first time! There’s great pasta in the states. But just doesn’t beat Italy, man. It’s unreal. Thanks for the comment!
How did you travel between cities??
Trains! The Italian rail system is really good 👌
5:12 - tortellini dalle suore .
Nice video! It has a LOOOOOOT of information, I was kinda shocked haha :D I think this type of video might benefit from shortening the length a bit (whether you split it up into different parts or just condense it to fewer events you show), because it's kinda hard to follow a constant 20min stream of information.
Just my opinion though ;)
c/t and greetings, Sophie :)
I agree actually. I usually limit my videos to around 12 min. Because I know people don’t have the desire to watch for very long. Media consumption these days are catering to short attention spans. Which is a shame really. But gotta give viewers what they want! Thanks for the feedback :)
Sadly, the truth. It's still a nice vlog, so don't worry ;) Glad you took it well :D
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
If you go Modena go ti eat too:osteria francescana
My wife spotted Aziz Ansari at 1:57. He was probably shooting season 2 of Master of None.
That’s a great observation. You may be right about that!
@@EricExplores I might be wrong about the timing though. I remember you using #metoo in the video and MoN s2 definitely came out before that. So he was probably laying low with his girlfriend in Italy waiting for things to settle down in the states. 😬
lol hashtag me too means something else dude
Noticed this too 😬
Tortellini.parmiggiano reggiono and aceto balsamico Is typical of Modena no Bologna
No way, the original "tortellino" is a truly bolognese stuff. In Modena, they fill them in a slightly different way and the size is bigger. The Parmigiano reggiano, is produced in a restricted area only, from Mantua right side of river Po to Bologna left side of river Reno, including Parma and Reggio Emilia.
Just balsamic vinegar is a true modenese speciality.
