@@thirteen_candles9806Not with that bright lighting my dude. As with most of my inclinations I'm going to once again side with Th3Birdman on that one.
I actually never got the sense that the Black Widow/Hulk scene was saying sterility was monstrous. She'd just explained that she'd allowed this to happen IN ORDER to become a better killer, that she'd done this for the Red Room, which was an organization that kidnapped little girls and put them through torture training to condition them. She feels like a monster not because she doesn't have children or can't, but that she chosen to allow evil people to control her body and her choices and her future that completely. I don't think she's right, but I understand where she's coming from in the scene, and it makes sense with the character now that she's reformed and is very bitter about what was done to her without any meaningful consent (due to the childhood brainwashing). And now, she seems to have regrets and anger about it. (Women should not be shamed for not wanting children, but also should not be shamed for wanting them.) She turns that bitter anger inward--which is a mistake on her part, but a pretty common one--and thinks it makes her monstrous instead of making the people who did it monstrous.
I think this is the true interpretation and the only one that really makes sense. She did not know then that she would ever want a family, her only goal was to impress and become a more efficient assassin. It’s only now that she’s grown and matured that she’s realized what she did then prevents her from having what she wants now and she’s mad at herself for wanting to be a better assassin so badly that she made that sacrifice. I think her inwards anger is directed at her misguided goals when she was younger, and blames herself for not knowing the person she would turn out to be in the future. This is something like 99% of all human beings struggle with in at least some way in their lives
I agree, but I also think they maybe could've thought just two seconds longer about that juxtaposition just to prevent it from coming across like she was implying that being sterile was monstrous. My guess is that there were a few lines in between those two things that got cut (because I don't believe it was written with the implication sterility being monstrous) and they just didn't notice the message it was unintentionally sending. I personally also didn't get the sense that she was saying sterility was monstrous, not even in-universe (since characters are allowed to have opinions the movie makers don't agree with, of course), but I also believe the people who did interpret it that way and found it hurtful. The fact that that happened, even if no one on the film's team intended it, is enough proof that the interpretation really wasn't so farfetched. I reckon it's more likely to hurt people for whom infertility is a theme in their lives, and if that hasn't been a theme in the lives of the people who were in charge of that juxtaposition, or if no one on that team was aware enough of how painful infertility can be for some people, I can't necessarily fault them for not realizing it.
Oh let's face it, people who think infertility or even the mention of it is an insult to them are obsessing over infertility. Just seeing a baby on the screen would be offensive to them. This is why you cannot live your life according to the obstacles in it. You live your life despite the obstacles. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that scene. It's just black widow explaining why she can't have a family because she chose to be an assassin. But she desperately wants to be more than just an assassin. Hell in that scene you don't even think she wants to be an avenger. Instead she would rather run away with the guy she's falling in love with and live a quiet life.

Jeremy: talks about how Loki waits for Iron Man to “remove the damaged suit, grab a drink, banter a bit, and call in a new suit instead of just killing him” while literally showing the part where the suit flies out the window to save Tony after Loki throws him out the window to have Tony fall to his death.
The suit was not ready yet and Tony took a huge risk. Loki as a player didn't took the situation seriously enough. At the other hand Tony making jokes as a stress relief. I think a bigger sin rather than no gravity in space one would be that earth and space are connected through that portal, yet no oxygen is getting sucked out to fill the vacuum.
There is in fact gravity in space. Things are able to orbit our planet because of how fast they are moving sideways. If a satellite suddenly stopped, it would start falling.
@@moonkey2712 Well yes, I never claimed otherwise. I was just pointing out that cinemasins could've done a better, and more logical sin than the one they picked.
@@moonkey2712 You are right; there is gravity in space, however, due to the velocity at which Tony entered the portal and that said portal's distance from Earth's atmosphere, there is no way in hell that he would be impacted enough by Earth's gravity to end up falling back toward Earth. This doesn't even take into account the issues @mikkitoro8933 touched on, where yes if this were to actually happen, everything from Earth's side of the portal would immediately start getting sucked into the vacuum of space. I know @AnimeKat8849 argued that because it's a magic portal, "normal rules" might not apply, but I would challenge that idea for a few reasons. The first reason is that it's dangerous to dismiss anything unexplainable in a story's lore/story as "magic" or the sort because there is a very distinct difference between something actually being "magic" in the universe versus lazy/sloppy screenwriting/storytelling. The second reason is that simply, we've never really been offered the notion that there are inherently any different rules of physics or other laws of science in this main MCU timeline/universe. In fact, a lot of evidence suggests quite the opposite, as multiple times, characters have often used real-life scientific principles to explain what they ended up doing/creating something. From finding new elements, creating new technology, or explaining how/why something works, MCU characters always use real scientific principles as a jumping-off point.
I just started the episode and noticed that when you said shield at 3:15 the caption said Hydra. That's actually so clever and made the widest grin appear on my face-
Sometimes I feel like you can't win with CinemaSins. Like, if something is "bad" it gets sinned, but if it was done differently it would get sinned too.
You're right that this one is more Quick Silver accurate...but the xmen quicksilver has an awesome scene of him saving everyone from the school while a generator is exploding to the tune of Sweet Dreams.
I'm thinking they just beat Marvel Studios to the punch on that one. Given MS's affinity for music, i can totally see them giving Pietro a similar scene had they put the character in a movie 1st. Regardless. Classic scene is classic.
The xmen quicksilver is the strongest being from any superhero movie ever, but only uses his powers to save people in two scenes (recycled the samw idea too)
@@Crowbar Yea it is kinda annoying when they do that. When a character is powerful enough to basically fix all the problems on their own or annihilate the villain yet they either do f*ck all or get their *ss handed to them for the sake of plot.
Even IF they didn’t kill or injure anyone, wouldn’t the fact they were blowing up large parts of one of the most important cities in the world be an obvious reason to stop them?
Also, another point for the "Wearing sunglasses indoors/at night" sin: people with sensory issues that struggle with bright lights or, heck, just any kind of light that's brighter they can deal with (such as myself) EXSIT. Pointing out and "sinning" the wearing of sunglasses in a situation that YOU don't need them, just further singles out and isolates those who DO need them from the societal norms we already don't fit into. So stop it.
Absolutely also same and there's also poker players ig not sure if it's for hiding their expressions or style but they do, they're also really helpful in hiding where you're looking which is very useful to agents, and it's motherfucking SHIELD maybe they're Hightech smart glasses with a HUD that scans shit and gives info. In short Jeremy is a moron and also thinks that people should abide by what he "thinks" is normal amd/or does himself. (thinks is in quotations cause I highly doubt he thinks at all)
Another reason why this is a stupid norm is that, speaking from personal experience, even if you’re not light sensitive enough to “need it”, it still feels really dam nice to wear sunglasses inside (besides most rooms are definitely bright enough for this to not cause any issues with being able to see things).
53:29 Another reason he doesn't go to Titan is: at no point was Thor ever informed of Thanos' homeworld or the liklehood that he would travel there. Also the focus is defending the stones and the only stones left that Thor knows the location of are all on Earth(the mind stone specifically). Idk how he knew to go to Wakanda tho, I assume that summoning the Bifrost provides a level of clairvoyance or else how would anyone be able to travel to a new area
That and the big can of worms. Thanos is related (technically is one) to the Eternals. Hence the title Mad Titan. It's a little difficult for the entire exposition of the Eternals origin through the genetic experiments of the Celestials (through which ALL biologically based superhumans in the Marvel Universe share an origin) and the historical diaspora that places these humans (technically pre-human but thereabouts) on Titan (one of Saturn's moons). Nobody was ever going to Thanos' "homeworld" even with the other alterations to his origins and history.
Incidentally it has to ro with either the visions cave in Thor: The Dark World or the clairvoyance of Heimdall and I'm not going to do the research to remind myself which just for a UA-cam comment.
A helicopter flying at night would use a mix of instrument flight rules and visual flight rules. When flying over an illuminated road which, as you state, is pointing toward where you're going to land, you follow the road. It's easier, and you can concentrate on the prep for landing.
53:47 this is even funnier when you know it was revealed by the movie makers that Thanos actually *did* include himself in the snap and him surviving was him taking at the universe saying he was right.
@@brendenhawley2225 it definitely was luck, but Thanos internally believed it was proof that he was right and the universe/powers that be were confirming this to him

What makes Jeremy's comment about Tony creating Ultron funnier is the fact that, you know, JARVIS exists. Where did Jeremy think he came from, exactly?
The human body is a mysterious thing…. Just bc Rhodes fell on his left arm doesn’t mean he didn’t injure the right arm while flying out the window or when his body hit the ground and turned…. He could’ve easily injured his right arm in that sequence and his left arm is perfectly fine…. For instance a man snd little child could both get hit by the same type of car going at the same speed, but it’s the grown man that suffers excessive injuries while the child comes out unscathed bc that just how the body works sometimes

He did it blocking and strategically countering, and I think that was the first time that really happened to the hulk so it threw him off and inevitably scared him, rather than made him angry. I just hate that we have “Banner Hulk” now, and I don’t think we will get the actual Hulk back.
I’m a year late to this, but I’m pretty sure Thanos first strike on Hulk was at the throat. Makes all the more sense that thanos won, hulks gasping for air trying to fight a strong ass dude.

Also, regarding the “indestructible iron suits” deal, indestructible literally means that that thing is unable to be damaged entirely and it was proven in the first, like, 10 minutes of the Ultron movie that they most certainly are NOT indestructible given that the one Ultron uploaded into got damaged by some kind of acidic substance.

24:08 I'll say what I always say hearing the argument that the Snyder Superman is a mindless killing machine. In Man Of Steel. Superman has only been aware of his powers for a couple of weeks. It was not long ago he learned how to fly properly. He's not intentionally destroying a city to kill Zod. He's destroying a city because he doesn't have the finesse or skills to avoid property destruction and Zod couldn't care less. Zod also just tried to kill his mother so this TEENAGED Superman wouldn't be in the best place mentally.
Well he's a full on adult when Zod's battle occurs and he'd been using/aware of his powers since high school since you see him save the bus as a teen. It's more that he's never been in a meaningful fight nor has he prepared for one while he is up against arguably the best fighter of his species. One who is also extremely well versed in psychological warfare and is aware that Superman cares for civilians. Actually his ability to win that fight clean is ridiculously impressive since he picks up techniques and skills extremely quickly
@@unseenjc what would work is Superman lamenting what he had done in this scene as kind of bad. Jeremy's one of those guys that asks what Hawkeye thinks hes gonna do when he runs out of arrows not realizing that that question also applies to black widow with her guns, Once Hawkeye runs out of arrows arrows and black widow runs out of bullets they're both gonna start doing the same thing picking up whatever weapon they can find and use it against the enemy or going hand-to-hand they've both shown to be pretty good at it 'Fans': Black widow will just reload, dumbass. Unless BW can shit an unlimited supply of bullets on command, her ammo is finite. Mags don't spontaneously fill with bullets when out of sight. If she's carrying 5 mag with 17 rounds each plus one in the gun that's 102 bullets between 6 mags. If she fires every shot then just like Hawkeye she'd be out of ammo. Besides if Hawkeye ran out of arrows before Black widow ran out of bullets she'd just toss him a gun and he'd start shooting.
@@ceding3741 Well well that's generally true I'm not giving that Factor to Hawkeye As many Of his arrows are trick arrows or explosives that basically destroy themselves upon impact

Getting the popcorn ready for this one.
And take a shot every time Jeremy calls something that is stemmed from the comic book material "some bullshit" simply because they shield up with the mantra of "the books don't matter". Good luck to your livers.

@@luigiboi4244 and what's even funnier is he uses a comic book trait of the out riders that Captain America and T'Challa were fighting and said it's a "sin" they're fighting without protection from their acidic saliva and poisonous blood , that BTW he sinned them very same creatures for being "cgi filler" prior
If Im in your house as a bad guy and you just came home I would kill you in an instant because You know the layout and I just got here. I have no clue what kind of "magic" waiting to be activated. Cinemasins has an absolute valid point criticizing Loky.

@@hokiturmix you seemed to have missed the "loki is a arrogant god and was such from the very beginning" bit there bud. i get it. you like cinema sins. but this is very much in character for loki and therefore is not a sin. a cinema sin would be loki being portrayed as a arrogant god from the begiinning underestimating every mortal only to pick 1 mortal in particular and kill him immediately because "well he might be a problem" arrogant people dont think of "oh this person could be trouble" they think "pfft what does this weakling think its doing. im gonna toy with him a bit" if you cant understand this simple fact then i am left with no choice but to assume you should stay as far away from a writing room as possible
@@comicsans3421 Nothing to do with how i feel about cinemasins. Half of the argument against him is just blah... Sure I have some bias but it does not mean Im blind.
I think a bigger sin rather than no gravity in space one would be that earth and space are connected through that portal, yet no oxygen is getting sucked out to fill the vacuum.
One could make the argument that's it's a magic portal so normal rules don't apply 😂
How terrifying would it be if any wizard that went to space could essentially create a mini black hole with a sling ring
@@moonkey2712
You are right; there is gravity in space, however, due to the velocity at which Tony entered the portal and that said portal's distance from Earth's atmosphere, there is no way in hell that he would be impacted enough by Earth's gravity to end up falling back toward Earth.
Kinda the point of the channel
If he likes something, sinned
You're right that this one is more Quick Silver accurate...but the xmen quicksilver has an awesome scene of him saving everyone from the school while a generator is exploding to the tune of Sweet Dreams.
I'm thinking they just beat Marvel Studios to the punch on that one. Given MS's affinity for music, i can totally see them giving Pietro a similar scene had they put the character in a movie 1st. Regardless. Classic scene is classic.
I have to agree plus Petro is German/sokovian so he'd have a accent
The xmen quicksilver is the strongest being from any superhero movie ever, but only uses his powers to save people in two scenes (recycled the samw idea too)
@@Crowbar Yea it is kinda annoying when they do that.
When a character is powerful enough to basically fix all the problems on their own or annihilate the villain yet they either do f*ck all or get their *ss handed to them for the sake of plot.

Yeah, I noticed it sounded old but the references were to recent for it to be actually be old so it confused me for a minute!
Yeah when he talked about Kate Bishop, I was like….HEY WAIT A MINUTE!
CinemaSins: “Why are they trying to stop an army that we don’t even see hurt or kill a single person?”
Me: *my inner JonTron* “WHAT!? WHAT THE FUCK!?”
Even IF they didn’t kill or injure anyone, wouldn’t the fact they were blowing up large parts of one of the most important cities in the world be an obvious reason to stop them?
@@bkjeong4302 exactly. They’re still an aggressive force that needs to be stopped.
For the hologram sin in Endgame, we clearly see how these types of holograms work in Winter Soldier when each of them are sitting in the tubes.
“Jeremy is a blood” all time favorite quote ever
I'll never stop laughing at that "no gravity in space" stupidity. It has become a meme at this point 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just what I thought watching the scene. Thanos survival makes sense as luck.
@@brendenhawley2225 it definitely was luck, but Thanos internally believed it was proof that he was right and the universe/powers that be were confirming this to him
14:30 Cinema Sins thinks that Black Widow touching the Hulk’s wrist to bring Banner back is stupid and outlandish, but this is actually a common way of helping people who are dissociating snap out of it, so it makes sense it would calm someone in a fit of rage

What makes Jeremy's comment about Tony creating Ultron funnier is the fact that, you know, JARVIS exists.

In my mind Thanos destroyed hulk so easily on the ship was because Hulk fights like…. The Hulk.. like a savage beast. As we saw thanos didn’t just “beat down” hulk with straight power.
Thank you! I really like your work. I love that you call out scene manipulation, gratuitous sins, and creepy comments.

He sinned end game for Tony speaking on wanted to shield the earth "came outta nowhere"
When he mentioned it in age of Ultron, iron man 3 and civil war and in end game called out Steve and everyone that he said we needed to do what he suggested and Thanos would of never taken over , showing that the MCU did what he claims it doesn't showing Tony's character progression and showing the consequences of all of their actions

It would probably be birdman yelling at Jeremy for being a misleading shity channel who doesn't know literally anything about movies.
Cinemasins was comparing that flying monster to the "driller" the deceptions used in the third movie I think. Literally speaking the only thing they have in common is that they're both giant bad monsters and they crash through buildings, so it's barely a "sin" when the comparison is built off of comparing two different things because they have the same general traits
That's incorrect. He meant the multiple decepticons ships in that same movie. Although the one in Avengers is a combination of Driller and the ship
The hulk comment reminded me of something I read that thanos can beat hulk but tries to go out of his way to not fight him cause it’s a pain to fight him apparently

32:24 small correction: hulk DID punch someone so hard they went flying in the first movie when he punched thor during the final battle the real sin here should be that these scenes share absolutely nothing in common beyond that and ig being comedy scenes for you to breathe after all the fighting as they are shot differently involve a different character and take place in a different context
@@idkyouthinkofaname323 Yes.
@@Samfry523 It really irritates me when people like Jeremy claim Bruce and the hulk are different beings
They're not it's why when hulk saw Natasha in Thor: Ragnarok he reverted back to Bruce

Yes the hulk is dangerous but he won't intentionally kill anyone because Bruce(hulk) won't kill as birdman said when hulk sees innocent people hurt he feels remorse and either runs off of flies off

And I think that he was trying to get Zod away from everyone, but Zod used his battle experience to overcome that method
Jeremy's one of those guys that asks what Hawkeye thinks hes gonna do when he runs out of arrows not realizing that that question also applies to black widow with her guns, Once Hawkeye runs out of arrows arrows and black widow runs out of bullets they're both gonna start doing the same thing picking up whatever weapon they can find and use it against the enemy or going hand-to-hand they've both shown to be pretty good at it
'Fans': Black widow will just reload, dumbass.
