New to your socials and YT and love it. My partner and I want to travel some of the 'globe' for our delayed honeymoon so this video is timed perfectly for us 😊
Because then you won’t be charged the annual fee… eg a card that has a first year free will charge the annual fee on the first anniversary unless you cancel it before that first anniversary
Can’t wait to travel the globe 🌎 Love the tips! Always looking for ways to earn more. I started doing Qantas surveys during lockdown which gives a great amount of points depending on how long the survey goes for 😀
Hey Queenie, I love your videos and I've learned heaps from you and I honestly owe it to you! Not sure if this is a dumb question, but if I were to sign up for a credit card (one of the main purposes to travel), do I need to travel that specific year?
Aww I’m so glad you find them helpful. No you don’t need to, the points land in your Qantas account so you can use them whenever you want. But they do expire after 2 years if there’s no activity spending or using points so something to be aware of!
Thanks for the video Queenie. Just a quick question- is paying rent to a rental agency considered an “eligible purchase” to earn points on credit card ?
I was actually considering this as a method with my partner the other day. I realised I wasn't eligible due to me currently possessing a rewards card, but my partner is. And yes, always pay the full amount back each month. PS, I'd love to travel the globe again soon.
@@InvestWithQueenie oh I see so if you just used your debit card to pay for those things you would get nothing but since you are using the credit card your getting the stuff you buy plus points on top! haha sry 😅 definitely should of thought that through first
I really liked the information in this video, Never knew this was possible till now, Thanks just one question, (in australia banks see credit cards as DEBT when borrowing money for example investment property loan and it will affect your borrowing power) just wondering if i would be able to cancel the credit card and then goto a bank to get a loan will it come up or is there a time limit i need to wait or anything or will it always affect my borrowing power? Thank you :) GLOBE EDIT: Also to add just wondering if you get the credit card then cancel before the year is done,(to avoid annual payment) can you re-apply to the credit card to get the 3 month $3000, 110,000 point bonus again? or does it not really matter as there is lots of credit cards out there to choose from?
Thanks for your questions! Usually the banks look at the statement of the last 3 months so if you have had a credit card within the last 3 months they would ask to show the statement but would know that the credit card is now closed. Best is to check with your mortgage broker for more info on this. Regarding the bonus points, the offers are only for new card holders and usually card providers have a minimum limit of time before offering the bonus points again such as 18 months but this depends based on the provider so make sure you check the T&Cs before signing up to any card.
Also, the fuel companies have reshuffled in the past few years, so may change gears again down the road. Currently QANTAS is at BP (used to be Caltex/Woolies Rewards) and Virgin is now at 7-11 (used to be BP)
Globe 🌎 Thank you for sharing this info very informative, I have always wanted to fly business class but always been put off by the price.. I collect my qantas reward points with woolworths everyday rewards card & with the Qantas well-being app connected to my Fitbit $10,000 steps gets me 1.8 points a day and 60, 000 steps a week gets me and extra 8 points this is another way to keep your points and account active. The more steps you do, the more points you get 😀 I will definitely apply for a Qantas rewards credit card now as in the past I was a bit apprehensive about it, I wish I knew about this earlier! Thank you once again.
Straight into the content without boring introductions, thank you 🙏
love when information is so purposeful like this. So clean.
Glad it was helpful Wes!

What app is that you use for your credit scores?
Really great advice ! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Done this before getting back into it again this year, france and croatia here we gooooo
Awesome!
Sorry. I'm a bit confused but when you said you would cancel your credit card before the annual fee is charged, what is the reason for that?
Because then you won’t be charged the annual fee… eg a card that has a first year free will charge the annual fee on the first anniversary unless you cancel it before that first anniversary

do you have any opinion on Velocity points at all?
is it worth it as alot of people use Qantas?
Using credit cards wisely is KING 💯
Absolutely!
The example about the American Express travel insurance does it work if you pay with airline points?
Such an informative video! Thank you!

do most cafes in Australia have surcharges if pay by credict card?
Thanks for the video Queenie. Just a quick question- is paying rent to a rental agency considered an “eligible purchase” to earn points on credit card ?
It depends if you can pay the rent with your credit card or not and what system the agency uses to charge your card. Best is to ask AMEX :)
Can qantas credit of 450$ be used with affiliated partners or just with qantas flight?
Can be used with partners, but get less bang for buck
4:14 What app are you using for your credit score?
Hey Queenie,
Are the reward points you get from the CC transferable or do they cease when you close your CC as well?
Yes they are transferred to your Qantas frequent flyer account! ☺️
@@InvestWithQueenie thank you so much!! your videos are always so informative, and quick to the point. It's helped kicked off my investing journey!!

Does cancelling a credit card in Aus affect credit score?
Hi queenie! I’ve already committed to velocity and feel a bit of regret because I have two cards. Did I make a mistake? 😅 also globe!
Hi Queenie, would it not hurt your credit score if you decide to cancel your credit card before annual fee renewal?
I think your credit score is impacted by your ability to service your debt, not by your decision to cancel the card before annual fee is due.
Can I cancel my Citibank premier card after I’ve spent $2000 and received my $600 cash back to avoid paying annual fee?
how do you justify spending 3k just to get 2k flight credits?? you're getting less for what you're spending.. or am I missing something?
I spend 3k on any purchases which I would normally do such as my groceries bills etc. And then I get the bonus points. Does that make sense?
@@InvestWithQueenie oh I see so if you just used your debit card to pay for those things you would get nothing but since you are using the credit card your getting the stuff you buy plus points on top! haha sry 😅 definitely should of thought that through first

A lot of companies do not except american express now.
These are some really great tips! Thanks for breaking it down as it can be very confusing.
is there a website where we can pay our friends with cc?
Woolworths Rewards = QANTAS
Coles Flybys = Virgin

really great travel hacks! I've been trying to stick with one airline or rewards group
Use your credit card like it’s your debit card, aka don’t spend money your ain’t got and you’ll be right 🤣
