    I'm very happy with the 30L unitank I purchased from you good people. Yes the bottom fitting is a right pain to get started and I used the same method you described as following the "official" instructions will result in lots of cursing and frustration! Great peice of kit!

    Great video again...something to look forward to on a Sunday. I have the 20L version but it does not have the mesh filter. Do you sell that as an accessory as I couldn't find it. Cheers

    A little silicone lube on the o rings helps a lot . Food grade of course. Helps the o rings last a bit longer.

    Very interested in this product... Not sure why there isn't a cap off to the collection port as an addition to the plunger... Can't to hard to have a threaded o ringed cap.... Or have I missed that...

    Why no lube and what happens to the plunger with grub or hops get stuck underneath?

    Great video chaps! Any plans to stock the Apollo Titan 30L Stainless version from Keg King any time soon?

    You mentioned in your video for the 'Chubby' Fermenter an Handle thingie in the Pipeline for it. Is this also applicable for the Apollo Range, being as the Cap is the same across the ranges.
    I was a bit hurt when you said something like 'So Called Pressure Barrels' 🙂. I have been using those for 50 odd years now and although I know that HDPE will pass CO2 over time, none of my brews have been in the barrels long enough (years) for that to happen. Plus I have a High Level Tap and a floating syphon and priming pressure drives out 90% or more of the brew.
    I am on a budget and although I intend to buy a Chubby Fermenter soon I am close to converting a King Keg type Barrel to be a Pressure Fermenter with a Kegland Spunding Valve arrangement although those small devices you show would be better.

      Apollo range have clear plastic handles on them 😉
      I had a pressure barrel as part of my first home brew kit, it got sent to the tip after trying use it twice and having either gas leak out or beer. Glad it works for you but those things are more trouble than they’re worth, after 50 years it’s good to finally have and a much more reliable option.

    Unfortunately it's impossible to buy the transparent 10L junior keg in Germany / Europe.

    Thanks guys. Temp control? Think Keg King have an optional coil and insulation jacket. Would like to use with my GC2 glycol chiller and adaptor kit. Bit big for my old fridge. Be interesting to learn practicalities of this approach - e.g more connections = more chance of leaks? enough space for coil so dip tube doesn’t get stuck? Heating without melting PET?

    • @themaltmiller8438
      @themaltmiller8438  Рік тому

      Hey David, we've asked the distributor if they are planning to bring in the coils and jackets. With those you would then be sorted to use with the GCA (not the official Grainfather GCA coil though) and have it work perfectly with your existing set up. The heat pad which is used is lower than 50c so no issue with the PET on the Apollo range.

    Why would I choose this over a Fermzilla?

      I’d also love to see a side by side comparison for these two

    • @brookatbroowery
      @brookatbroowery Рік тому +1

      I have 2 all rounders from Fermzilla and the Apollo snub nose, and for me, the snub nose wins hands down. The top comes off really easily where the AR’s can be a pain and need some encouragement, it has a built in thermowell and the way the pick up tube hooks over the thermowell tube ensures the pick up is central at all times reducing the risk of it sticking to the side of the tank.

    • @themaltmiller8438
      @themaltmiller8438  Рік тому

      Much comes down to personal preference, the two are very similar but to @brookatbroowery's point below there are some good design decisions made with the Apollo that make it a popular option.

    I'm bored of PE fermenters. The bubbles alone are impossible to find on the market, so we have to change the whole set every 2 years (around). Im looking for an affordable stainless steel fermenter now.

      I also got tired of this. Now I use a standard corny with a floating dip tube. Bullet proof, easy to clean. Has never let me down. Often, if the beer won’t last too long I don’t even bother to transfer it out, just serve straight from the keg already carbonated.

      @@MyMusicGDI’m doing this now. The only downside is needing to limit to 17l and having to use an antifoam in a 19l keg to give head room. A bigger 23l keg may be the next purchase
