Long story short. My dad broke the world record in wakeboard slalom and Ken broke it right after in 1994. My dad is the original along with Ken. I still ride on those boards till this day. Amazing history. I'm very grateful to be able to grow up in the best time of wakeboarding.
@@Shaun.Murray Yes sir. We have a couple Ken boards that are still in the plastic never been opened. Always a pleasure watching your videos and I appreciate the reply. Have a good rest of your morning and keep shreding!
Shaun this is so cool!! Random memory I have of that white board from 2008 was that shot of you on the Lake Bullshoals trip putting that fox racing sticker on the corner. Thank you for sharing such an amazing collection
My wife still has your 97 pro model, long story but was given to her by Steve Carlton , when she was on UCF ski team to use in the trick event! I had been riding your 2002 or 03 ? Belmont 136 which ever one has the bass player graphic on front , I just was upgraded for my birthday to your 2022 139 pro model , big difference and lovin’ it!❤
It's also cool to see this history. For whatever reason, I've found that watersports manufacturers don't document this stuff well (which is a real shame). For instance, I have about 6 pairs of water ski's in the garage - can't place the year (other than very general '80's or 90's) for the life of me. And forget about getting specific/original information about them. They don't add SKU's or serial numbers on these products either, so it's a guessing game at best to try and date some of this old equipment. The history is very interesting, and it's fun to bring some of this vintage equipment out of the garage and back onto the water every now and again! A lot of it has untold stories (great example is Shaun saying - hey - make the runners straight!). I bet there's so many examples of that in the watersports world that we just don't know about.
My nephew and I were part of the "pay it forward" board back in the day. I would be an awesome blast from the past if you would do a close up on all the signatures in some video in the future 😎
Its crazy how even now Shaun doesn't have all of his boards considering his reach. I would love to see 2014 and 2015 type boards come back, 2017 was good too just bright and crazy.
Still riding my 2001 white Honeycomb Belmont 140 Sunburst. My Son's 2002 134 DNA Belmont is hanging on the wall along with my 2003 141 Belmont DNA. My Son still rides his 2007 white 138 Murray 10th Anniversary Board. I guess I should retire the old boards and purchase a new ones.
Probably not too much honestly, even one of my boards from mid 90's. Pretty sure Dean didn' have a 94 but maybe a 97. Either way, check out Vintage Wakeboards on instagram and he can let you know info like value and year.
The guy filming be breathin' hard - he's just excited to be surrounded by so many boards lol

Now that's amazing Sean 👊🏼 Ken Benard! Featured on the first Hyperlite graphic and your dad was turnin bouys with him

Love to hear this Adowney! 👊🏼 Which graphic? All green honeycomb from 97 or the stripes?
@@Shaun.Murray the stripes with light green edges
So awesome! Lots of pro model history 👍 congrats and hope for many more of your boards to come!!

Would be awesome to have an archive of companies from the past and present with some artwork to show what is from when
It’s hard to hear the convo over the breathing of whoever is behind the camera

That's awesome! I'll keep that in mind and try to show em. Kane Ward's dad, Justin, rode the board back in the day, well before Kane was born

I'd have to go to my shop and see what years you're referring to 😆

Love the classic rides CJ👊🏽 Could be time to update, don’t have to, but I think you’ll feel a difference
I still have a Belmont if you want it. It’s the 2002
I'm not really pushing to collect em all but which one do you have? You can DM me on insta
You need the tenth shape to make it round! Maybe on the 30 anniversary?🎉
🤔
I took my high school senior pictures with my 2001 Belmont.
Classy 😊
I have the 2006 in that green graphic helmet
Do you have a special place/feeling for your board in the original detention videos?
For sure👊🏽
I had that 2000 in 132
👊🏼
I have a 1994 Dean Lavelle Board with Graffiti Character and graffiti on it. Is there any way to know the value?
