I encountered two fault codes: IPC: U0422:68-2A U0416:68-2A on a 2011 MONDEO. I found that the cruise control had a problem with deceleration. I sprayed WD40 and it improved, but sometimes the cruise control would automatically cancel.
you have great soldering skills, well done. No way I could do as well as that. If anyone thinks they can solder like this as a total amateur then they had better do a lot of practice before they go near the cluster.
mayo sham thanks, it actually took me about 4 hours in total maybe 5 cos I had to go over the board twice it didn't work on my first test. With a bit of practice you can solder anything really, just take your time, have a good work bench, have a good iron tip, always keep it clean and hot I kept mine at around 400c(the iron is now broke but lasted three years). I also use lead solder, It's just easier to work with.
I love eletrical work and have actually resoldered my IPC in my Ford Windstar. I am curious if you have any insight on type and gauge solder to use? Are you using solder without a rosin core? And thats why you dipping it each time?
Adam Karakurt now I can see the needles comes from the board so it's needed for sure. Nice work anyway and shame on Ford for this widespread bug of post-2005 instrument panel. Stupid non-lead solder...
Was a long time ago but it's going to be different depending on your iron and the type of solder ur using. I probably had it up at 300+C but u gotta just see what settings are best for you, do a few practice joint to see what settings feel best.
Hi Adam and mamny thanks for the video> I wonder if you can help find the type of smd regulator for ford escape (maverick) 2006 3Lt instrument cluster 5L8T-10849-AL Thank you a lot ...Peter
sabas7007 it's probably a different issue, as this was due to a failure in the solder which was rectified soon after 2005 (roughly). might be worth you disconnecting the battery, then unplug and replug the instrument panel. I don't even know how you should do that in a 2015 model or even if the error code means the same thing.
It amazes me how many people do these and make videos on youtube but yet never use flux when resoldering. It would never work for me because I know better.
I was using flux the whole video it's just fast forwarded, plus the solder I use has flux in it as well. It's necessary really when trying to get a clean joint.
This is exactly what I need to do but I’m a total novice as far as soldering is concerned ... you make it look so easy...
Fixed the instrument panel the same way last weekend. No more 4-dash problem. Thanks for inspiration!
Resolder the mains chip pins is also a good idea along with power supply ic's on the board.Good job!!
The song made me not skip forward in the video to the actual repair LOL nice work

shut up, soldering is not rocket science, and this board has lots of room to work.
Do the resoldring in SMD crystal only for U0155 error code , full PCB re soldring not required
Where is the crystal on the board?
hello, do you need to remove all indicators from the front side? It seems that the PCB is on the back side only.
Andrej Kvasnica well I did it to remove the risk of me damaging them when working on the board.

Dobra robota 👍
How do I clear the old engine fault codes?
ELM327 cost 3euro
good job
my ford fista (cluster) right indicoter light and fule light on after few minuets when car off and key out of ignition ..
What temp do you use on your iron?

hot enough to melt solder duhhhhhh
does it need i reprogramming by ford in order to do this
No cos ur only touching up the solder joints. Ur not actually changing anything.
What would happen if I just got another ipc from a junk yard? Would it plug in and work?
what the name/model of the green led bhind the green lcd screen? some one know??
Thanks the video!!!!

Petros Marinis sorry I wouldn't be able to help at all with that.
Biggest waste of tie I have ever seen. Even done at normal speed, without commintary, it did not tell me a thing.
If you have that error code copying this video will likely fix it. Is that confusing?

Sabas - how did you solve this? My 2015 f150 just got the code too.
Ford focus 2008 2.0L code défaut trouvé dans U1900
Very difficult =(
Very easy
Чё так медленно надо было побыстрее видео крутить ,а то не хрена не понятно
would rather have you explain then the annoying music
Nothing to explain its just a re-soldering touch up job, check the description
😅
Not very useful without talking and detailed explanations.
It's quite straightforward with a text description

most electronice solder has flux built in.......really you didnt know that?????? duhhhhhh
For God's sake slow down!!
That music is atrocious... 🤮
