  • Great experience to be able to take part and film a Mongolian Shaman in trance, in Mongolia. Shot on the old PD150.

Shamanism is similar throughout the world, which is not surprising since the earliest humans worshiped nature first and foremost

Curious how you can find a lot of similarities between Mongol Shamanism and Native American religions. I am from Mexico, and surely can tell you that there are many ethnic groups in my country that perform ceremonies close to this. It's not rare considering that Native Americans are close to Siberian and Mongolic tribes, but I simply find the matches odd and interesting.

Interesting fact, shamanism originated in Tuva (my ancestral home) and the brought it to other nations. They taught the native elders (the first people) about their shamanic ways and other nations and cultures adapted their own cultural ways into this practice. It’s even practiced in the US.

@@oksana8575 You do understand that shamanism is older than Tuva right? And shamanism is a world wide thing. has no place of origin than in the souls of the first humans.

The Mapuches and other peoples of Andean and southern South America have many similarities with Siberian, Alaskan and northern North America natives elements

Well native Americans actually share the same ethnic origin with the Himalayans, like Tibetans, Monglians, and also Inuits.
Recorded human history goes back only around 5000 years. But anthropology show that many ethinic groups actually have the same ethnic origin from the Himalayans 10000-20000 years ago. And this is also how the Tibetans understand their own culture's history.

Shamans engage in various practices such as healing rituals, divination, trance states, and connecting with spiritual realms. They often use herbs, music, dance, and ceremonies in their work. It's fascinating to learn about different cultural practices, isn't it? 😊✨
