Thanks for brining the Heart Rate Zones to my attention. To be honest, I didn't know Apple tracked this information so well.
You’re welcome Mike! Thanks for watching.
Nice vid
Thank you!😊
Great video! For some reason I can’t get this on my Apple Watch SE 😞
Thank you! Sorry! I’m not sure why you aren’t able to use Heart Rate Zones.
Ellen, this video was wonderful!!!! I'm a retired physician (77yo) and I just paired a Polar heart rate monitor to my Apple Watch and I was so happy to find your video to adjust my heart rate zones. I use the Tanaka method for max heart rate (208 - (0.7*age), the heart rate Reserve Max HR - Resting HR, then calculate my zones 1-5. What I wonder, however, if the heart rate coming from my bluetooth paired Polar h10, or the optical measured heart rate from my iWatch. Do you have any information?
Really great question but I’m not sure. I’ll see if I can find any information and post it here. Thanks for your kind words.
Thanks, I'll research it as well and post it here@@EllensTipsForiOS
Hi. Is it possible to see weekly or monthly heart rate trends? I can only view it by workout like shown in your video.
Hi Adrienne. You could check your heart rate trends in the Health app. Open Health app>tap Browse>tap Heart>tap Heart Rate now choose Shoe More Heart Rate data. Scroll and look at your workout trends. Hope that helps.
As a beginner I just want to track zone 2 while cycling is the out of the box Apple Watch HR zones good enough for that ?
Good question! I believe it is. Once you’re in HR Zine 2 you’ll be able to monitor that I’m on the Apple Watch allowing you to see how long you remain in that Zone.
If there any way how i can set some limit of hurt rate when apple watch start alarm me that i need to chill down?
You can set your own HR Zones but I don’t think there’s an alarm setting.
Hello, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a question for my watch SE (Currently 10.4). The total workout time is different from my total hear rate zone times. Example: I bike for 2 hours, so the total workout time is 2 hours, but the total of the heart rate zones is only 45 minutes. (Zone 1 -> 40 min, Zone 2 -> 5 min.) Where are the 1h15min gone? Can you make any sense of this? All help is very appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Paul! If your heart rate isn’t high enough to trigger a Zone it won’t show in the Zones. Are you working g out with enough intensity to trigger each Zone?
That's an excellent remark. Maybe I should measure my heart rate in rest and my max. THANK you for this tip. Have a great day. @@EllensTipsForiOS
Do any of the apps use heart percentage rather than beats per minute?
Take a look at the Zones for training app. apps.apple.com/us/app/zones-for-training/id1139688415
I want to see heart rate percentage not beats per minute. Can this be done? It’s easier to focus and view my percentage vs beats per minute.
The workout app doesn’t but I believe this app does. apps.apple.com/us/app/zones-for-training/id1139688415
In current OS, it no longer shows Workouts like this at 4:32. I looked all over in the app and Settings and cannot find it. I want to see the zones but, this no longer works. I do see the annoying and unremovable Trainer Tips though. :-(
Also, does the watch automatically factor in your information you entered in Health to set the zones? Because if it did with me, it shows zones that seem more for a very fit 20 year old and not an old fart. If this is only fixable by manual entry, I have no idea what a zone is or what to put in each. Confusing.
Hi Mongo, I just went into my HRZ in the Apple Watch and iPhone and they work the same way for me. What’s not working for you?
Doesn't work on my Ultra 2 watch. Help please 🙏🏾
What’s not working?? How can I help?
How do you actually manage to click on that dang pencil to update the workout screen to have the HR zones? It won’t click for me.
It can be tricky Stacy! Keep at it! Maybe try rebooting your watch.
@@EllensTipsForiOS I have and still no dice. I’m getting so frustrated :-(
Sorry it’s not working Stacy you might need to reach out to Apple.
I dont have views workouts views when I click on the pencil , please help
Sorry to hear that Dave! Are you trying on the watch or the app on the iPhone?
Actually after clicking the 3 dots you need to click on preferences then you will find the option to change the workout view
Thanks for the tip.
