He told us that after three days and a few refueling the engine still run, so the garrison commender decided that this is just a waste of fuel, and ordered to stop the engine. Around 40 years later in the early 2000s the piedestal needed renovation and the garrison commander at that time ordered to move the T-34. The tank battalion commander ordered the mechanics to fill up the engine with oil, coolant, bring in a battery, check the electronics and start the tank. They succeeded at first. And the tank moved on it's own power from the piedestal, and after the renovation back to the piedestal. It is still there, ready to roll out.

ww2 soviet tank in general were too cramped, unreliable transmission (see t-34 losses on breaking vs losses due to fighting), no radio (poor tactics), meatshields, brittle armor and shells, poor reloading (basically moving the gun up to reload), poor optics in early war and more
and yet ironic they won the war due to sheer numbers, good armor design (slope armor), and ofc, logistics and resources which german lacks
