This is a fantastic video. The pace of this video and the repeated examples with the articulation changes allowed me to really absorb the strengths of each articulation. Thanks so much!

Thank you for this great video, I like to see the way you work out articulations using your own musical examples. Kind regards and blessings, MaxT

I agree with Mark, its an Art to master midi articulations, when to use what and how to tame or emphasize them, along with divisi and harmonizing. It can be a daunting task But oh what a beautiful prize if you can. Tutorials like these are very helpful. thanks for your hard work making them.

Thanks so much. You work primarily with VSL, yes? They probably have more articulation options than anyone. It can be really amazing, but also overwhelming, I'm sure.

@@AlexHeppelmann Yes I use VSL and Its great to see how Berlin works also. Both highly capable Libraries. I envy your knowledge of how real players Articulate their instruments. Rare to have someone with experience in samples and real instruments also gifted in the art of teaching. That is why this channel deserves support and gratitude.

Another great video Alex. I think the tricky thing with articulations is that you can know about the different types, but it is the how and when to use them that is harder. This is why I appreciate your videos so much as you take the time to fully explain things like this

Thanks, Mark. And it's a very different experience working with samples versus live players. You can ask a player to make a lot of the decisions for you, or to change the degree of something one direction or the other. But working with samples, it's all up to you to work with what you have. In some ways easier, in other ways harder, I think.

Great video! I have been using legato articulations on every note - I have so much to learn!! I would definitely be interested in a similar video for woodwinds....

i know this video its a bit old but how can i put the artiulations under the velocites and not in the midi map with thr notes?

Do you mean expression maps? It's different for every DAW. You might need to find a video on that topic specifically!

I don't own them, but I've heard good things. They have a divisi function, yes?
