This was a journalism senior project produced in 2013 briefly chronicling the story of the livery cab industry in New York City.
After years of conversation and speculations on the Summer of 2013 the first batch of green outer borough cabs were out in the streets of New York. Though this meant more legal options for street passengers it also entails a whole different system for those who decide to join the new system. Over the next three years the city can sell 18,000 of the borough taxi permits, so 6,000 each year.
