That's exactly why I bought the mini grinder, for my TIG tungsten!! I just went on Amazon and bought 3" wheels like the reddish brown one and works great. I like the idea of using the polishing wheel for the tungsten. Thanks!!!!
I chose not to grind the spacer down, I just put a washer on the outside of the polishing wheel and it fits/works great. Good Idea, but I decided not to chance not grinding it straight. I use the scotch bright wheel to polish my sharpened tungsten electrodes but a tungsten sharpener to sharpen them. I used the sharpening wheel for deburring small items that I have cut or that need a minute adjustment. Great video, thanks for sharing the idea.
I just got this grinder and put the stone on the right and the fiber wheel on the left but just flipped the outer washer and tightened it down and works with no issues
Perfect. I was wondering about doing that too. Harbor Freight doesn't offer replacement wheels for the Mini Tool Grinder, and I was thinking about trying the replacement wheels from the one with the flex shaft, but wasn't sure it would work. Now that I know it will, I'm off to HF to do the same mod.
The nut for the left side of my grinder fell off and I can’t find it. I just can’t seem to find the correct nut size to replace it. Do you happen to know what size it is?
I got into knife sharpening I use the 1x30 harbor freight belt sander for that I'm going buy the mini grinder I was just wondering have you sharpened any knifes with it
Hi Louie, No I have not used the grinder to sharpen knifes, I am no expert, but I have seen a lot of youtube videos of knife makers using belt sanders for knife sharpening.
Louie Olivarez I make knives and I use the 1x30 belt grinder to sharpen use a 400 grit to get a rough edge and then use the leather belt with white compound to refine the edge
Hi Mary, If you have used the grinder a lot, more then likely the brushes have worn out. Or the switch is bad. If you are handy, take it apart, (unplugged) and check the switch with a ohm meter. If brushes are bad you can order a set from Harbor Freight web site, go online and check the manual, in the back there is a parts list
I found one with a 6mm arbor hole; maybe I can drill it out or not use the washer thing that goes inside since the arbor on the machine is 10mm. It was the only thing I could find. I intend to use it on small bolts and other small pieces with rust, it was really the only reason I purchased it in the first place. www.ebay.com/itm/222901554351
Joe's Fab Lab ok because in your other video you said you grinded down both washers? 🤔 just wondering because I have this mini grinder and just wanted to make sure

Thanks for the added tip. yes I find that the arc does not wander that much after polishing the tungsten
Thanks for the tip - just bought both this weekend and wondered what would need to be done to use those wheels.
Thanks Mulligan Farms
Came here looking for a cheap way to grind tungsten. Cheers and thank you!

They do now. Comes in a two pack, but unfortunately only one size and grit. It’s for the 39 dollar but it still fits.

Hi Frank, Take the nut off and go to your big box hardware store, Look in the metric section. Test against a bolt for fit
I am looking for deburring brush/wheel for key making. Can you recommend something that I can use with this machine?
Try locating a greed wheel, many hardware stores carry them.
Objetek Systems never heard of greed wheel and cannot find it.
Sorry Green wheel, as in Green Silicon Carbide. You might have to purchase a larger wheel and cut it down.

I have the 39 dollar one with the dremel like rotory tool attachment, but that's a great idea....
Yes I hear the more expensive one is a better deal.
It's $8 for the next one up from this. Much better deal and time saved.
My grinder no longer turns on , any ideas

New, www.harborfreight.com/3-inch-mini-tool-grinder-polisher-94071.html
Do they sell a wire wheel for it?
Harbor Freight does not, but if you google for a 3" wire wheel, you should be able to find one that fits.

So you only grinded down one side of that washer?
Yes, that is correct. Good luck and enjoy
Joe's Fab Lab ok because in your other video you said you grinded down both washers? 🤔 just wondering because I have this mini grinder and just wanted to make sure
Sorry, If I recall correctly it was only one side.Try one side, if still not enough clearance, then the other side.
Joe's Fab Lab I just put a small washer on the left side and the back plate clears enough so I didn't grind anything down thanks for the great video
Cool, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Buffing pad goes on the left.
Thanks for the tip Dave
