Also, do you have some sort of treasure chest, or something you keep all your finds in? What is the cutest thing you've ever found in a vehicle? (other than money)
When I was 14 yrs old , an elderly lady passed away who lived in a shack not far from our farm.. Her son stopped by one day & offered me $50 to tear her old shack down because he wanted to sell the property.. I took his offer & I asked if I could keep anything I found in the shack.. He said yes , but he doubted anything of value was in it.. He was very wrong ... The old lady was a hoarder . And she had dozens of cats ! As I went through the old shack it looked like what you might think.. But , I found under a large rug a hatch in the floor.. I opened it & to my absolute shock was large green canning jars full of money . 14 in all.. I opened the first jar & began looking thru the coins & much of it was silver dollars , 50 cent pieces , quaters , dimes.. When I turned 16 I bought my 1st car with that money ..
You do well as far know how to price things keep up the wonderful job you are doing .take care and stay safe and well.thank for sharing your video with us all.your friend Shirley from new Bern, north Carolina USA ❤🎉🎉🎉😮😮🎉😅😊🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😊
Those old Dometic stoves and refrigerators are worth their weight in gold!! The ones that are matching can go for $300-500, even in that rough condition, cause Dometic is a good brand that's still available to get parts, and they rarely break down..
That Airborne pin is cool! I Luv old GM keys as well!! Also think of the family history of those campers, back in the day, the trips& the ADVENTURES made from scratch!!
Silas, The door latch assembly on the rear door RV and the Pace next to it are worth about $200 in decent shape. Bluebird Wanderlodge and air stream used to use them.
Silas, I grew up in a Winnebago just like this 1973! 0:27 Course this one’s been repainted. No giant W or the word Indian! 😂 Anyhow, my Dad made a safe in the back bathroom wardrobe. It was a box made with the same wood in the wardrobe. Unless you knew, it was unfindable! Keep an eye out for slight anomalies. You might find money!
Hello Silas. I am from Canada and thought I'd let you know that the Canadian Government stopped making pennies a few years ago. Awesome video. I truly enjoy your content. Keep it up. 👌🤞🤞
Silas, I can’t imagine how these campers got so torn up. They all look in about the same condition. I know some of it is weather, but most of it has to be someone on a rampage to tear them up. I liked this video a lot. Thank you, John from Cape Cod
Wouldn’t ya know it! I have an 81 Dodge Transvan. If the door in back s solid I could use it, and if the fender flares above the rear tires are decent, I could use those too. I doubt it would be worth your time so no big deal. If I lived nearby it would be a different story. Anyway ,I enjoy the videos!
The last time we had to deal with old trailers & RV's was the time a convenient fire 🔥 rolled thru 😉,was real easy to scrap the scrap as thats all was left of them
Hi Silas! I think I seen a 57 Pontiac in this video. The rear ends out of them are a bolt in for 55-57 Chevys. With the gasser craze that is a very popular rear end these days. My guess $500? Well worth cutting out! Most any 57-64 Pontiac or Olds rear is worth saving. 59 Olds is a good one too, not a bolt in, but they are narrow enough for street rods. Again probably $500.
Hi there, Silas! Thanks for your fun camper treasure hunt. Geez, when you see them like this, it's hard to believe they were once beautiful RVs. I always enjoy it when you do treasure hunts. But really, almost everything you do is fun to watch. It relaxes to go on your adventures with you like that. It's more fun than watching TV, because not much comes on that these days either. What is, or was (formerly) your favorite series or movie? Anyway, thanks again for your nice video, and I look forward to the next one. Have a great week! 😎👍
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratchmight want to save a few motorhome frames. Hot rodders use them to drop a mid. 50s. Chevy COE. TRUCK ONTO IT AND GET A MODERN ENGINE DRIVETRAIN BUT CLASSIC. BODY

There might be another part to make money on. The power converters. Where the 110V power comes in and is turned into 12V to run all the lights. EBay has them from $99 to $250 "trailer power converters".
camper people are looking for those small windows and the doors can be rebuilt with the frames. I've shipped the windows, small corner sinks, coleman stove and fridge parts.
I am not saying you should do this but the facility that shreds the metal would they be able to run a camper or a dozen through maybe crushed. I live near Los Angeles and there are a lot of campers.
Those five bolt rims are highly sought after as replacements for the old widow makers. They sell for about $200 to $300 a rim. Cost me quite a bit to replace the ones on my 51 Ford F-4.
Poor old Liftime motorhome. 22:25 Winnebago bought Lifetime . You see the family resemblance in the front end! Lifetime is an older mark than Winnebago.
Hey Silas, I hope you can give me some information. How did you find out what those headlight basil went to? Is there a way to do it online thanks for your time. Appreciate you God bless.
another thing i would look out for is the Chevy trucks 80s most of the 3/4 tons have 350 4 bolt main blocks there is good money in them and there getting harder to find here in Washington state there going for around 300.00 just for a block
I pulled a 440 Chrysler V8 out of an old motor home a couple of years ago. It only had 14K miles on it. After going through it to seal it back up. It turned out to be a good engine for my old Chrysler.
I have a old motor home on our property i have to get rid of i will have to cut its fiberglass body up and pay the garbage place to get rid of it. I had to pull typ campers i scraped there aluminum body's and sold there steel frames and came out ok.

Last one I seen was destroyed by a tractor or something.. it was crushed by a skidder or whatever you call it.. land it was on became logging

A lot of those RV’s were fodder for Big block engines and HD transmissions for derby guys and hotrodders. Cheap 440’s and 454’s

Hi, if the ama are push pins they are way newer than bar pin clasps which are worth tons and boat loads
I believe the two items are tie claps or whatever you call them to hold you tie in place

Hello from Michigan. Love your videos. Just curious do you save the outside skin for scrap? Be safe out there.
Very little money for the amount of effort it takes to clean, so it goes to the landfill.

Hi SilaS, another great job, would you ever think about getting your own Shredder?
I have an 1977 Executive. Wow.
AMA pins are American Motorcycle Association
I always wondered why campers weren't valuable for the aluminum siding. I'd guess that Airstream style RVs have thicker aircraft aluminum..
Not even $50 worth of aluminum in the average camper and it's a TON of work to clean.
did you save any of the 440 engines? I might want one if it is not stuck
You get rid of the campers thing you free up space for your dad can put cars in😊
