- Berlin Phil Horns during a film shoot for Arte playing the Hunting Chorus from Freischütz in a cable car and on the Merkur Mountain in Baden Baden. Brrrrr.....!
with Sarah Willis, Klaus Wallendorf, Fergus McWilliam and Andrej Zûst
March 2013
Sarah: "It's a little bit bumpy to play in the car, but that doesn't sound bad!" Good one. You sound perfect.
There's a law in Germany that whenever four horn players have gathered in one place, one of them must pull out his or her set of Green Books which they all carry around. Fun must be had.
mein gott stell dir vor du gehst auf dem berg und die berliner phil. spielen fuer dich ein traum!!!!!
I'm a fan of the Hornists BerlinPhil. Concerts in the digital concert hall they are very concentrated. Perfect! The hornists conveys a good friendship between them. They are cheerful, relaxed and is a very united group! If I did not play bassoon, I would Hornist. For sure! Congratulations to Hornists BerlinPhil. Greetings from Brazil…
I love this! I just got the music for this and am so excited to get to play this with my horn section in youth orchestra. I love Sarah Willis!
Thank you (from Moscow) for your excellent music ! ))
Sometimes I wish that there were more people like them in Florida

Great homage to Germany's first Romantic opera composers. Buried in Enland but exhumed 18 years later and re-buried in Dresden, Richard Wagner, eulogist.
Just awesome. I can't wait to see what will be the next video^^
Greetings from Switzerland...
What an uplifting German set of music... Ride every mountain-- swim every stream -- reminds me of some Austrian song I heard once... Great job...
This is just awesome
Wow, I did like that! every time I hear this overture again, I will think of this cable ride!! what an almightily good tune for the horns... I had not realized this. Isn't Sarah a total star!!
Finally found a video vita more playing, less talking. Sounds great.
Very cool! Keep having fun and keep the videos coming.
Oooh! You guys are so awesome!! One day I wish I could play like you guys can!
I played this song for NYSSMA it was a very nice song, but you guys amazed me
Klaus Wallendorf: "The Freischütz have I so many times geplayed... " 😆. Klaus normally speaks perfect british english, but he makes fun of speaking "thuringian english" dialect. Like he immitates Bulgarians and Americans speaking german. Great musicians with great sense of humor.
This is awesome
magic sound
Einfach herrlich! lovely.
I love you Sarah.❤️
Es ist eine große Leistung.ヾ川(*^▽^*)川ノ
Ich bin Japaner, aber ich habe in Land Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland gespielt.

They're professionals...
I mean they're literally the bests in the world... what are you talking about... It's even rude to compare yourself
Do you still play? :)
Can't resist stating that the German "Standseilbahn" isn't just a plain cable car. (At least in my opinion as a German. ;o) We're familiar to the Standseilbahn but not to cable cars. ;o))
However, lovely video again.
Die Bassfrau!😄👍
Are we going to see David Cooper in these videos at some time soon?
Hahaha you are crazy
Andrej!!!

es klingt so Deutsch... wie ich solche atmosphaere vermisse...
kawaii!
Only a hornist or at least former hornist is allowed to observe that horn sections, tend to be peculiar, vastly amused by their own inside jokes, and tolerantly amused by mere trumpeters, trombonists and woodwind players,
Not exactly a hornist myself, but have to agree. Peculiar in he most wonderful ways! Same goes with pianists who tend to play in groups, definitely!
