XMoD was so popular back then everyone in my clans used it for clan wars practice 😅😅... Basically you can do unlimited Ghost attacks, without actually attacking the base
Yeah, it was so common that people were suggesting to just split clan war matchmaking into modder and non-modder groups. Even the top UA-camrs were cautious of condemning mods because so many people used them.
You can still practice attacks in private servers which are completely separate from main server and absolutely impossible to detect since it's a separate app but setting up each base individually is a pain in the ass
I can tell you that in the builder base, players would use secondary accounts to watch attacks on their main account, this would tell the player the ranges and health of buildings. They would also use alternate accounts to scout for traps as well.

I'm one of the xmod cheat developer team and I can confirm that due to players being afraid of using any more cheats, we had to move on and split into separate games and modding teams. Those days were fantastic we really got 100s of our testing accounts banned just to test our Anticheat is working fine or not for the users. That was a moment supercell was giving updates very frequently on the basis of anticheat and we were focused on bypassing it and other members of the team were focused on finding some new mods if we could do. It was that golden era when we survived as a single cheat for coc with no competetion. Later on many of us moved to anticheat making companies as senior engineers with zero degree but excellent knowledge of modding and anticheat. And some of us joined another modding groups or a very few made their own private cheats for other games. Truly love❤

Honestly I will never understand why these people are so desperate for being top on leaderboard. Are they doing it because they’re desperate for attention and recognition?? Clout??? Whatever the reason, it’s kinda pathetic how they really need to desperately be at top 1.
It's basically impossible to eliminate ALL cheating without also having a bunch of false positives, but you can usually catch the most overt cheaters without much fear of getting it wrong. Primer did a video on this one time, "how to catch a cheater with math", I highly recommend it.
Exactly. The two key ways to catch a cheat... (a) detect the software on their device -- not so easy to do on a hacked device. (b) by their behavior... for example, the auto-skip feature as shown here is a dead giveaway as no human can tap that fast - the screen with the skip button isn't even drawn!
Amazing video! I finally discovered what all the Stephanie names were about. I was always confused as to how someone could have so many accounts on the leaderboard, or convince so many people to change their names.
I remember when the gem obstacle was first added it would sometime give a way more gems then intended. I got 2500 and I heard stories of people getting 25,000 gems.
As somebody who never played this or other mobile crap, I found this genuinely interesting that people would go to such lengths just to have the highest number in something so trivial like this.
You misses the exploit were you could buy gems for free on a jailbroken device. A classmate had a plugin installed that you could buy app store items for free. So wasent linked to clash, but to apple. He still plays to this day
I remember jailbreaking my phone when i was a kid and downloading the COC mods. The only one I remember using was the filter for attacking bases which was extremely nice back in the day. Dug up an old memory man

Botting definitely isn’t debunked. There were tons out and raccoon bot even got shut down due to litigation. I personally botted many accounts for hundreds using memuplay
Remember good old days using xmod just to not press button search all the time, when i was at school during lessons, not a really cheat but kinda time saver.
The only "cheat" or glitch I used back in the day was placing multiple building on top of one another. Hell, that glitch was so fun. I remember doing a clan war with all of my clan just having the glitchiest and funniest bases with like all inferno towers + eagle in one spot. It wasn't good- but fun. Definitely my favourite glitch of all time
i remember i was a kid and at the time i really didn't know xmod was a cheat in my mind i thought cheat was just unlimited gems so i had it and when i got banned (forever without a warning)i felt betrayal for the first time i hated supercell for years 😂
After all the cheats were very simple. You can do most of those things but you have to set them up manually using some macro software(which was easier on PC and why I think they were tryna get rid of emulators). The game just checked your storage to see if you have cheats installed which is impossible to do if you make it yourself or use emulator since the cheat runs on the host machine while the game is on the virtual machine.
11:10 you dragged the tower to the furthest tower from it and while it was near swapping you would exit out and the glitch would be set the game didn’t have enough time to register it I use to do it lol
There was a resource hack, I think it was September 2014, that actually worked. Even back then, hacking the servers was thought impossible, but somehow people in my clan figured it out
sick video! good job forgot to mention that players used to play in their main villages and in their burners accounts in different devices and sometimes in different networks to avoid bans after the ban waves in 2016.
Damn, seeing all these old top clans is a serious throwback. I remember being part of Quantum's Web, North44 and King's Rock back in the OG days before everyone started merging together to secure that #1 clan spot again. I miss them days.
I’ve played the game on and off for years. I’m talking sitting at McDonalds using their WiFi with my iPod touch just to play clash in 2013. I had no idea any of this was going on lmao
I used to add my 2nd acc. To the enemy clan when war is going to start and then take screenshots of clan castle troops and traps to share and strategies with my clan war mates
i miss x mod games. was mad fun, also actually on X mod games you could attack with 999 troops, but it wouldn’t save. you just had to visit a players base and it would allow you to have fun with it with all troops spells etc. I also have footage on my channel though it’s private, but i could unprivate it to show you.
Me and my brother had bluestack through which we could play coc on the computer. Reason for this is that we had a program on the computer that attacked players using barbarians and archers (Cheapest troops back then) by stealing all the loot from gold/elixir mines. We also had a program where we could try attacking someone in clan war without using attacks so when we attacked in cw, we did know where the traps are and how to 3 star them. It was 2012
yep, I did this too. I think it was called botting, I remember I had bought a VPS for a couple of months and simply left the software run, I would connect to the VPS, pause the software, spend my loot on upgrades, resume the software and continue on with my day. In a span of around 5 months I got ahead of everyone I knew and they all thought I was playing 24/7 when in reality my playtime was 0. You could farm throphies, loot, there were many features in the software. I loved the game before I used bots and also loved the game when I was using bots, but at the end of the day, I saw that the game revolves highly around the "grinding" aspect, so I let the bot do that for me so I can enjoy my life.

I can recall accidentally ghosting some attacks in clouds because my internet dropped off while searching for opponents or right after finding one. You do the attack and than after you’re done the “no internet connection” pops up, you reload the game and discover that this attack was never even a thing, no resources gained, no troops used, no trophies gained. At a time I thought it was a cool bug since I got the fun of practicing an actual attack for free without having to wait for troops queue again

In a now very distance past and a long lost account I had A farming and upgrading bot. I had a virtual android bot on my PC which was logged into clash of clans and run it 24/7, the Clash bot would log out and back in at random intervals to make it "less likely to be picked up as a bot". My current account on it I have had for about 6 years but I have took long breaks from it in between but I haven't done any cheating on the account which is much more satisfying and enjoyable. Years ago with clash of clans a method was doing the rounds where you would search for a dead account, write down the details and email Supercell saying you had lost access to it with a pre written email. I don't know whether this actually ever worked as I never tried it but it was quite a popular subject of videos and tutorials at one point.
So i started playing Clash about a week ago and sense its a pay to level up type of game i just started buying gems, i bought about three packs of 80 gems with my regular card then that ran out of money because there was only a little bit, so i used my cashapp card because that had about $15 on it, i spend all of the $15 and when i go back into the item shop im just scrolling through then i accidentally click on an item. I curiously continue the purchase and to my surprise the purchase went through. My curiosity grew and i clicked on another item. It still worked. Im going to admit i “Bought” over $40 worth of gems doing this and idk if i should feel guilty 😭
I don't know why this was recommended to me, I've never watched any kind of CoC content, but this was a really interesting and well put together video.
If you want the explanation to the disappearing building I have it 11:13. Context - I reported something like this way back when and it was fixed soon after. Basically, one of the new tools of the base builder maps allowed you to shift your base layout. However, something you could do, was hold a building with 1 finger over the water, spam the "move base" , it was turn green and allow you to place the building in the water. Supercell allowed you to save, however, it would clock something was wrong, and revert back to the old save in the "3 saved bases" bit. I did wonder, what would happen if you had no saved bases... this is most likely what happened here. Oh and you could crash the game by placing it in the rock by the water :D
I believe the second wave of ghosting which was never explained could've been possible by use of VPNs. At least a year ago you could turn off your network while you were connected to certain VPNs and the game thought you still had connection. If you did this while the waiting time in the match and the game thought you never dropped a troop wouldn't that count as a non used attack? If not then at least for normal matches it would've been still possible.
@@eydiggah5872 didn't he specifically mention that it was never solved that how did they do it the modded clients died in 2016 mostly and after that there were basically none so how?

XMoD was so popular back then everyone in my clans used it for clan wars practice 😅😅... Basically you can do unlimited Ghost attacks, without actually attacking the base
I still using it on github
Yeah, it was so common that people were suggesting to just split clan war matchmaking into modder and non-modder groups. Even the top UA-camrs were cautious of condemning mods because so many people used them.
You can still practice attacks in private servers which are completely separate from main server and absolutely impossible to detect since it's a separate app but setting up each base individually is a pain in the ass
I remember hearing about it, but also that it doesn't gives free resources so never installed it. I only care about maxing base, not practice.
you and your clan are losers
I can tell you that in the builder base, players would use secondary accounts to watch attacks on their main account, this would tell the player the ranges and health of buildings. They would also use alternate accounts to scout for traps as well.
literally nobody does that, that would just distract from attack and give no advantages

@@King-vm2yk they would give you ban. Supercell is strictly against that. I know you see many auto farmer bots being sold on facebook ads and all but the thing is they have their own mechanism of AI and ML. They don't look like they're bots. They have random clicks and motions like human hands. But still there is a 15-20% chance of getting banned. So instead of creating that you can try something different. Life lesson: "The fact is wherever there is competition, there will be cheating."

You could farm throphies, loot, there were many features in the software.

I can’t imagine so many people having their self worth wrapped up in a game so much that they would spend all this energy and money on cheating.
The people who cheated need an award
I believe the second wave of ghosting which was never explained could've been possible by use of VPNs. At least a year ago you could turn off your network while you were connected to certain VPNs and the game thought you still had connection. If you did this while the waiting time in the match and the game thought you never dropped a troop wouldn't that count as a non used attack? If not then at least for normal matches it would've been still possible.
