The red balloon represents life.
1:13 You see him throwing it away at the beginning, because he is contemplating death and wants to end his life
2:40 he stairs at it surprized it came back while he is sitting on the edge of a building. Hinting, deep down, he wants to live (that's what the hand it the black and white scene was about at 1:21 )
3:26 You see multiple red balloons disappear when the lyrics was talking about death
Then at 3:33 he desperately runs towards it and tries to grasp it at the end after realising he just wants to life despite being depressed.
He finally does hold it at 3:41 and clings to it tenderly at the end credits at 4:09
This is so sad but beautiful.

I used to not think much of this song but presently I relate to it sadly. This animatic is beautiful and captures what the songs lyrics want us to understand. Great job!

Did anyone catch the flowers symbolism? The way they first appeared on the noose possibly symbolizing how they may be contemplating it due to one of those factors. The meaning of the flowers are later shown through the lyrics and he is seen holding the flowers later on as well. And it’s interesting since the flowers usually represent life and joyfulness in todays culture.
I’ve got only 2% of my battery left, and I’m glad I’m spending it on this.
