I read it in high school, and I wasn't impressed. When I read it again after more life experience I understood it and thought it was amazingly well written.
My first story about an American theme . My first Idea of an American Dream. This story is what showed me what it is like to be close to a successful life in America. Like The Great Gatsby got killed by a car ofcourse, but I mean to point out the rest of the life of him. I love such a life. Feels natural, relatively carefree, pleasant. I will become a multimillionaire some day. And own a mansion like Gatsby. Ill look for someone like Nick next door. Hahaaa. its going to be beautiful. worth living it. I've never been the biggest fan of the Great Gatsby but genuinely, this might change my mind. this ambiance truly makes the story come to life with such vividness that i understand his obsession with green light a little bit more

Not only was the original book a timeless classic, but the 2013 movie was phenomenal! I may not be a big fan of Leo DiCaprio, but he did capture the charm of Gatsby, so props to him for that. Tobey Maguire was terrific as Nick. Especially, in his portrayal of Nick's anger. Everyone else was great and even the atmosphere felt like a lively 1920s New York. Even towards the end when Nick writes "after Gatsby's death, New York seemed haunted to me. That city, my once golden shimmering mirage, now made me sick." That coupled with the gloom and dying mood of winter really showed how life for Nick changed after Gatsby had died. Even Gatsby's abandoned house was haunting and that green light still glowing. Love this music, the book and movie this is based on, and love this channel. Thank you Nemo!

I love those! This is a bit different but when I was a kid sometimes I would be in the car sleeping in the back seat while it was raining and the windshield wipers were making their hypnotic noise and my dad had the dodger game with vin scully's voice in the background. Anything raining car windshield wipers vague voice announcing a bunch of stuff in the background.... I think that would help me with my worst nights Of insomnia

There are so many levels as to why I appreciate this type of music and ambiance. There is no explanation to how this makes me feel while relaxing as I drink and smoke during the weekends, or even at the end of a long day of work during the week. Mixes like the one of the Stanley Hotel, and this one are my personal favorites. Keep up the great work! You offer something very different than other creators.

I used to listen to this while reading Great Gatsby last year, and I come around every now and then to listen and reminisce. It's made me oddly nostalgic for a time of my life that was only a little over 6 months ago. I had just started volunteering as a teacher aide, and I came across a copy of the book for quite cheap at a used book store in the area (kinda hippie inner city suburb). Just getting through the 7 hour day, barely having a clue on how to even communicate with first grade children let alone teach them phonic sounds, and then reading gatsby on the bus home and in bed while listening to this. Pure bliss.

Reminds me of a time in literature class in college. We were reading The Great Gatsby, and the professor asks "what does the green light signify." In my opinion, jealousy.
But, apparently, literature professors don't care about your opinion. There is only ever one right answer, and he said it's "hope." Nah, I think it's jealousy, but it reminds me why, though I love books and reading and writing, I hated "studying" it in school.

Lit teachers get weird over Gatsby, I told my English teacher I thought Pammy was Gatsby's kid because the book all but says he and Daisy had sex on that porch, it explains why she would be so fast to marry Tom, and her hair is blonde and in the OG books her parents both have dark hair and Gatsby is a blonde. Sure, she could have inherited blonde hair from their other family members, but I'm pretty sure she and Gatsby are the only blondes in the book.
