This is one my favorites y’all have done in a while. Most of my signs are small with lots of detail so really enjoy the big ones like this. Still not confident with the transfer paper but need to learn to get away from the carbon paper. Also, Miss Vicki inspired me a while back to get into resin so using that more and more. Love the added effect it gives to the carve. And when in doubt, carve the crap out of it!!😂
😂😂 Man, you're making some amazing signs. Especially with the painting you do. The carbon paper works, but the inkjet is so much better, in my opinion.
The sign (and the bow) look great! I don't disagree with what works for you, but my armchair and UA-cam expertise says there are better ways to prep the boards for glue-up. The current wisdom is to flatten one face (usually on a jointer), then to joint one edge straight and perpendicular to the flat face. Using a thickness planer, make the second face flat and parallel to the first flat face. Using the table saw, cut the second edge parallel to the first edge and perpendicular to the flat face. This technique always references a previously trued face or edge. Again, I can't argue with the results you get. Stay cool!
This is not what I expected. This is new to me and I really like it!!! So sorry that again I may have to steal this technique from the masters. Excellent job guys!
awesome job gentlemen! just an idea.... if the epoxy is transparent/semi-transparent, if you put a layer of white paint under it, the orange color will pop out more... instead of seeing the color of the wood with the orange... but it turned out great!
Thanks buddy! You'll be there in no time! Just keep working on it. We're actually gonna be offering interactive classes soon, so keep an eye open for that👍👍
That sign is amazing. I love it. Great job. I just mentioned to someone that I was going to my landlord and see if we could barter. A big sign for 1 of his businesses completely fell apart. New big sign for a couple months of free rent??

That's definitely a good way to do it, and honestly our normal way. But we did it out of step this time and it worked out

That sign is amazing. I love it. Great job. I just mentioned to someone that I was going to my landlord and see if we could barter. A big sign for 1 of his businesses completely fell apart. New big sign for a couple months of free rent??
Hey, it never hurts to ask!
Lol, I thought you were saying you were trading for a boat. Great work
That would've been a great trade, too!
Awesome looking sign, Barter the oldest form of currency. Never goes out of stile and interest rates don't affect it.
😂👍That's a good point!
When you were experimenting with your texture on the live edge. Did you try doing the power carving tool with different bits?
Not really. Wee considered it, but were running out of time so had to use a tool that would go a little faster.
Maybe invest in a big dust collector. just sayin. 😀 Oohh, and the sign looks AWESOME !!!
😂😂 Thanks, buddy! We'll look into some dust collection.
I sold one small sign to a Mexican Restaurant for some cash and a burrito. ☺
Nice work on the sign. Now bring home some nice venison!
😂😂 How was the burrito?
I actually missed a buck last week...I need some more practice.
Great way to get your work out, and g e t something you want.
OOh heck ya! It worked out great!
I had to rewind to 7mins 5sec thought i was hearing things? But nope Ryan defo said he asked dad for help!!!! Ha! Ha!
😂😂😂 Ya...he's a little more experienced
Beautiful work and awesome bow brother. Put some meat in the freezer with that bad boy!
Thanks man! I actually missed a buck last week! Gotta keep practicing😂😂
