I am experimenting to mb shelldock isle, personal tutor, laboratory maniac and an extra copy of defence grid while cutting one hermit, one thoughtlash and one spellseeker. SB wise leyline of the void and sanctity has been doing the hard work. For lands and domain matchup up, I opted to go for back to basic instead of magus of the moon to have an easier mana base. 2 Null rod and 2 echoing truth for other matchups.
Love to see one of my pet decks on the channel, nice positive run! I agree with the suggestions at the end, personally I'd also add a couple of The One Ring, and, once MH3 is out, I'd try the new Baubles over the Def Grids - in my experience the latter has been a bit medium as the deck often goes off after T4 :)
Not much of a lore person, but I can't help but wonder what Thassa's Oracle does that could possibly help someone who has done that thing in the Thought Lash illustration to themselves.
I love how this combo mostly ignores the prison decks. Luckily the prison players aren't smart enough to figure out that they need to chalice on 2 (though cavern also helps there).
Love the deck, but I am somewhat confused why someone would play preordain over ponder. Can someone help me out? Is it because the inability to shuffle and if so why not replace some islands with blue fetches and replace impulse with brainstorm?
Also you can preordain thassa's oracle to the bottom and then if you later play a thought lash you can exile the whole deck except the bottom card to find oracle and win a turn later.
That makes alot of sense 🤔 I guess 🤷 alot of the time my mind goes to swiss army knifing decks liken how a saga can find a map and continue saga games or take a control element from a package of one drops. Perchance delve cards like whats that one that puts a perminate on top of a library 🤔 thats a really cool card and is underused by blue mages I feel.
Reanimate needs to go. The sinergies with troll and grief are too free, and it can still atraxa on turn 2, as it always did. It was printed 20 years ago, when creatures were way weaker...now it's just silly.
I love the videos, but please don't call $1600 dollars worth of cardboard as "reasonably affordable". That is just disingenuous to people who already cannot afford the vintage and legacy formats and highlights the problems the reserve list have caused over time. People got mortgages lower and or monthly rent higher than that.
Correct, but you pay your mortgage or rent monthly. Buying a legacy or vintage deck is a long-term expenditure and you do it once. $1600 is not cheap but this is also a card game and all the money is set on fire playing it. Costs are relative.

Yes Preordain is way better if you don't have shuffle effects and it still digs for up to 3 cards.

Ban all cards on the reserved list, and print new ones that does the same, but has new name.
