It's a done deal. Even if the sales drop down by half or less every year, by the end of 2027 at the latest Switch will surpass PS2 as the best selling console ever. It's already the best selling in multiple regions and only a mil away from passing the PS2 in the US. They'd just need to do a few more collector's editions and a price drop and it's a wrap.

The oficial number is what matters. On the last soyny investir meeting they still confirmed 155+ million Ps2. They cant say otherwise or they are lying to people and that's a crime.
There are 3 real numbers. There’s the “contender for best” number at 155m, the “probably the best” at 157m, and “definitely the best” at 160m. If it passes 160m, it is without any doubt the best selling console of all time.
@Mutation_D I know l,that's the point. All my PS5 is, is a glorified Netflix,CR streaming box. I know way too many people who PlayStation consoles just get used as media boxes instead to play games. I never owned a single game for any of the 3 PS2s I had.
It's important to realize that Nintendo Switch is currently the highest grossing game console of all time. Because $300 was a super short-lived price for PS2, and it quickly dropped to $200, and then down to $150 a few years later, and something like $100 or less during the PS3 era. While Switch Lite exists at $200, that doesn't even sell as well as the main Switch, and Switch Oled still sells alot. And in addition to the console selling units, Nintendo Switch also reportedly has the highest software sales of every game system period that came before it. It does have both the most expansive library of over 10000+ games if backwards compatibility and ports are included. And it has consistently the best selling exclusive games of any platform to date. Mario Kart 8 actually surpassed Wii Sports if digital copies and bundles were included; on the top 10 list, when it says digital copies or bundles are included; it simply refers to ones with asterisks. But none of them had those asterisks, which means none of them included the bundles or asterisks. Tears of the Kingdom must have very well sold over 31m at bare minimum (When 16.5m was the reported sales, it had fiscal profit of 1.8b US dollars, but that excludes it cost at least 70m $ to make + it's not like the physical copies actually earn $70 profit a piece since the plastic cost some money. And I don't think Switch units are included for bundles. And there is no DLC. But 1.8b divided by $70 would be 25.7m plus another million to make making the 26.7m being the price for profit. So there is 10.2m or more that is either digital sold or bundled making 30.86m being the minimum now. Breath of the Wild, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, and Mario Kart 8 also all most likely sold far more than reported by extension. So yeah, I do expect the next annual sales report that shows as of March 31 2025 to expand to 154m at least and surpass Nintendo DS by the time Switch 2 launches. Which will in turn lead to a discount for Switch, Switch Lite, Oled, and various other bundles. Discounts will probably be something like $100 a piece at minimum; or might be half price for each save maybe Oled. With Switch Lite being $100, base Switch being within the $150-200 range, and Oled being $200-$250. I can see sales continuing during the early stages of Switch 2.
Official sales report from Nintendo include digital sales. There's no way Nintendo will sell switch lite for $100, $150 is more likely. Regular switch will drop to $250 - $200 minimum and Switch OLED to $300.
@@mendozazone It really doesn't because it would contradict the math and logic of other reports such as the Fiscal profit. Also, I saw the list and the foot notes; the "Inclusion of digital copies" only applies to ones that would have 2 asterisks where the ones with bundles included would only be included with one asterisk. And if both were included, it would need 3 asterisks. None of the top 10 lists on the official page had those asterisks. The reports for top 10 best selling games of 2023 did NOT include digital sales for TotK or SMBW. Around the Clock also said the same thing that this was all true; Nintendo even said Mario Kart 8 was the best selling Nintendo published game of all time; not Wii Sports. Which would contradict the reported numbers.
@@mendozazone The asterisks are listed at the bottom of the page. But it is classic Wiki list style where asterisks at the bottom apply to list entries with asterisks listed in there names. Besides, even Nintendo themselves admit they aren't good at tracking digital sales. Also, games like Witcher 3, Skyrim, Minecraft, ect would be reported with much higher Switch specific sales if digital copies truly were counted.
@darkdragonmedeus705 It doesn't say it. It specifically says that downloadable numbers are included. I'm talking about the official Nintwndo website. Maybe Wikipedia isn't updated
See, the main difference is all the Switch where the sale of gaming console, not a DVD player that can play games. I had 3x PS2 and never purchased a single piece of software for any of them, i rented a few games but didn't like anything enough to want to buy the game. I also know several other who owned a PS2+ the DVD remote because it was simply the cheapest DVD player from a trusted brand.
While I'm not particularly invested if the Switch manages to overtake the PlayStation 2 in sales, I'm still very impressed by the fact that the Switch managed to sold over 140 million units in just 7 seven years and that it didn't have a price cut. It is also interesting that it managed to do with very little third-party support, at least when it came to new games, most of the Switch's third-party library consists of late ports, with a few original titles, most of them being smaller games, with a few exceptions like Monster Hunter: Rise, Bayonetta 3 or Shin Megami Tensei V. I hope that Nintendo can replicate the Switch's success with their next console, I'm pretty sure that they probably have various titles in development, but I also hope that third-parties which were skeptical of the Switch can course correct their decisions and bring more ambitious titles to the successor
Also zero Switch sales just sitting under a TV as a cheap DVD player. PS2 sales number are majority inflated because for a long time it was simply the cheapest DVD player, I had 3 PS2 and not a single game.
@@OTPulse I'll also say that many of the PS2 sales came from various emerging markets, the PS2 was the de facto console in various Latin American countries, where having a PS2 was the best option to play games due to its games being very easy to pirate
The ps2 did not sell 161 million lol it sold 155 million. So y is inflating numbers lol. I don't know why Sony even cares? Because the ps2 is old, it did it's thing in its time
Nah 155 million is the set number as Sony ended the life of PS2 back then. Anything sold after that doesn't count because again Sony stopped sales. Those magically sold after stay in a magically world out there for Sony to keep HardCore Sony Ponies at bay to keep the attack fort going strong. LFG Nin!
Listen gaytendo fangirl. Ps2 sold really well after poor PS3 release for a few years. Even during PS4 generation in poor regions like Brasil, Africa etc, PS2 was highly popular. Even Ps3, which is considered by Sony a failure, had the last revision of PS3 super slim called 4200 after PS4 release and sold strong surpassing x360. I know shitendo fangirls really want to make fun of Sony, but the truth is they never lied cos vgchsrts in 2014 stated that PS2 sold about 159mln copies and on the other hand wikipedia stated only 155mln and gaytendo psychofans say deliberstely the lower sales result to highlight and make switch better😂...
Actually, Sony did continue to sell units for about 9 months after their last reports, 9 months they never bothered to report. It probably sold around 2 million in that time and made it to 157m. This can of course be feasibly rounded up to 160m, which is where that number comes from.
@jpachuta164 No matter how you spin it in your mind, 155mln still stands. Coming out saying 160mln is nothing but a grudge attempt made late to keep the hate going. And I'll say it again so it goes throughout your skull... LFG NIN!

UA-cam influencers are all posting similar content now. This is this week's topic apparently. The only way switch doesn't pass PS2 sales is if Nintendo stops manufacturing switches. This thing is obviously going to end with sales norh of 160m.
I think when the Switch2 comes out, or before, in order to get more space between its price and the Switch 1, I think we’ll see a price cut. I think they might drop the OLED to $299.99 and maybe a code for a digital game like Mario Kart. Maybe the standard Switch will drop to $249.99, though, that probably won’t include a game. I don’t think there’s much (or any) wiggle room with the Switch Lite’s price, but maybe they could have a couple different versions with a pack in game or game code. Like a Mario Kart edition and and Animal Crossing edition. The other really smart thing to do for the holiday season before the Switch2, is bring back Nintendo Selects. If the Switch 2 is in fact backwards compatible, it would be amazing to launch a system with 20-30 of the greatest games ever on the shelves with new packaging and new low prices. You could have platinum ($39.99) and gold ($29.99) Selects titles. BoTW, ToTK, Mario Odyssey and Wonder, etc. imagine if some of the major games offered free upgrades on the Switch2. Meanwhile, I think they’re going to have first party exclusives for the Switch2. Basically, games that can’t run on the original Switch. Plus, there will be a constant stream of third party games that previously wouldn’t run on the OG switch coming over as Switch 2 exclusives. Exclusive within Nintendo’s ecosystem that is. I suspect we’ll see native Resident Evil games, Street Fighter 6, maybe even Final Fantasy xvi… Who knows? But I think they will continue to provide new content to Switch 1 users in the form of ports and remasters. I believe that’s why they are holding back twilight and wind Waker, Luigi’s Mansion 1, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, etc. those will run fine on the original switch and will, along with a price reduction and the Selects line, continue to push a few million systems per quarter for at least the first two to three years after the Switch2 launched. Unless Nintendo literally discontinues the original Switch, I believe it will surpass the ps2 by 2027. Meanwhile, in real terms, regardless of dollar amounts, the Switch is already the champion. PS2 is a legendary system, but when I got mine, it came with Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec as a pack in and had already been reduced to $199.99 after less than 2 years on the market. Plus, after 2006 nothing consequential really released for it except god of war 2, for some reason. I’m still not sure why they didn’t put that on ps3 and use it to drive console sales… But after God of War 2 the system was basically dead except for sports titles and just dance type games. No console has done what the Switch has done. Which is all the more impressive, because the system was antiquated before it launched.
The switch is pretty much already the best selling console because the only reason the PS2 sold so well was because it was first console where you could play DVD's and it was cheaper than DVD players at the time so people would buy it just to play DVD's
Nintendo Switch is at about ~141.5M and announced 13.5M, if they hit this goal, on April 1st 2025, Switch will have sold ~155M. Yes they will outsell the PS2, even after Switch released, 3DS went on to sell nearly 10M more units. Switch can do half of that very easily, in fact, they might do it calendar year 2025.
OBVIOUS 💓 - Looking at the trajectory from Japans Figures alone this will easily surpass ps2. Possibly end around 180 - 200m when its finally discontinued . AND They are still releasing 1st Party Games, Plural !! . GOAT status. That being said though, anything could happen. Love the show tho💓
The PS2 sold 154.97M units in a 13 year span, There is no 160M units that's BS. The Switch is the best selling console ever it sold 100M units in a 4 year span
Please stop saying the ps2 is at 160 million, there was no statistical evidence substantiating that claim, it is literally something Jim Ryan just farted out and nothing more than anecdotal
I've said it before... PS2 was a notoriously shoddy console, in terms of how breakable it was. So much so that, back then, some had accused Sony of intentionally making inferior hardware in order to boost sales. While I don't believe that was the case(though, who really knows? 🤔) the system definitely departed from the quality standard many were used to(before Xbox 360 took the crown 😂). It wasn't uncommon to have friends with multiple PS2 systems. I'm sure people today can testify of this. So, what am I saying? It's rather simple. I believe, if we're talking UNIQUE console owners the Nintendo Switch most likely surpassed PS2 a LONG time ago. It's a console built to take advantage of *multiple users within a household*. When one household owns multiple Switches, it not likely* due to the original being broken, it's (typically) because individual members wish own their own unit to play personally. This situation can be true for home consoles, in some cases... BUT, it's NOT the typical manner of how households purchase home consoles. One unit per household would be more common for PS2, than for Switch. We're kidding ourselves if we believe PS2 had more UNIQUE sales than either Nintendo DS, or Switch - two systems that tapped into the 'multiple devices per household' model, AND were also way less faulty hardware(even the dreaded Joy-Con drift don't require an entirely new console purchase). Still, I'm fine with the current stats. It's not like there's an easy way to track unique users. It's just an interesting metric now that we have a home console that can function like a handheld. No matter how you cut it - Jim Ryan's inflation and all - Nintendo Switch WILL surpass PS2 sales, and will probably do so without ever seeing an official price drop. Nintendo sure did come a long way since WiiU.😯
The last 9 months of sales were never reported, it’s speculated by most to have sold 2 million more in that time. The final number for ps2 was probably around 157m
From the whole list of recently games announced, the only one i bought really fast, was MvC fighting collection for the Switch, physical of course, thats a huge seller game
I don't think that the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection would be a particularly huge seller on Switch, but I hope that the combined sales of the Switch and other systems can convince Disney and Capcom to make a new Marvel vs. Capcom game I also like the fact that the Switch does some great fighting games. I just hope that for the Switch's successor some titles like Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighers XV, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear: Strive and Tekken 8 could receive some Switch 2 ports
As it should. It's Nintendo's best system. With momentum like this it's a perfect opportunity for Nintendo Switch 2 to come out swinging with all that third party support... unless Nintendo trips at the finish line like they did with WiiU... I hope not though.
imo it's nintendo's best system but with some really needed QoL improvements, like for example the themes, nintendo literally did a settings for themes to then just leave it with black or white options, or another big improvements they should make is the nintendo eshop, i never saw a shop lagging that bad but most of the QoL would be software improvements that nintendo can still do but for some reason they won't
As an added bonus to all those great games coming out this year, there’s a song hitting the Billboard charts by Sabrina Carpenter, with Nintendo’s name literally in the lyrics. It’s only a matter of time. 😂 shout out to Kit and Krysta for their latest video. Also MP4 themed Switch OLED is imminent. Watch it happen 😂
You absolutely forgot Pokemon Legends ZA which (if coming before switch 2) will move at least a good amount of hardware. I think it's more difficult for Nintendo at this point to NOT get over 160 million units sold.
155 million, yes. It would be difficult to mess that up. 160 million however is a difficult number to hit. Nintendo has to play their cards right, and so far they have.
@@minecrafter3448nah..think about it. They plan to hit 13,5 million from March 24 to March 25. So they will probably have 154 million in March 25 (and no switch 2 release most likely). And guess what: the 3DS sold over 10 million AFTER switch release. If the switch really hits like 154 million next March, it's done. I don't think that they won't sell 6 million at least for the rest of the switches life (which won't end in 2025, most likely 2027 or so).
@@nindieboy4194 3ds to switch is not the same as switch to switch 2. A more realistic way example is ds to 3ds, which barely sold 5 million after the 3ds launched
This is a good point. The switch is strong in sales even now. I personally could imagine it having longer legs especially IF they really put out price drops and support it until 2026. Let's see how it goes. And still...if it will be 5 million after switch 2, it will probably be around 160 million..sooo@@minecrafter3448
At the end of this fiscal year they’ll be at 154-155 million so they’ll actually only need another 5-6 rather than 10 which should be easy with price drops and continued support
They claim. I don’t think this lineup is enough for them to sell 13m. Look at last year’s lineup, and look at the pace they’re on now. They would need to maintain the pace of last year from this point forward with a much worse lineup than what they had last year AND a successor on the horizon to get that target.
@@minecrafter3448 tbh i don't think they will make it by this fiscal year but calendar year of 2025 surely yes, but maybe if the game nintendo is planning to release this fiscal year are well developed they can do it by this fiscal year
Not a claim, also this lineup is enough of them to sell 13,000,000. Also last year's lineup and the pace are on now, they're still going strong. They don't need to maintain the pace of last year from this point forward and the lineup is not worse then what they had last year..
Is... this even that important? Who avtually cares if Switch outsells the PS2 or not? Both systems are the crown jewel of their generation and arguably the best two systems to ever exist.
A lot of people care, Sony fanboys care if the PlayStation 2 got out sold by the switch. The PlayStation 2 was only the crown jewel because it was the cheapest DVD player around, most of the games in the library was just shovelware. So no the PlayStation 2 is not 1 of the best systems to ever exist. The PlayStation 2 is a DVD player. The real best system was the GameCube Hu
I personally think we are going to get a pretty good September Nintendo Direct. AFAIK there’s no game with a release date after DKCR HD in January, so the September Direct will announce and show games coming this holiday and beyond January 2025. Switch games won’t stop after January of course. I’m just curious which games Nintendo still has in the pipeline for Switch for next year. They’re not going to abandon a 140+ million install base so quickly.
Do you happen to know why? Because after January they have no major releases planned for switch until the scattered releases begin. They might still have a secret release for February, but that’s about it.
They definitely need a price cut on all models then they need a last big couple of exclusive for the switch and lastly a new model for the switch (lite OLED) would definitely help them get over the PlayStation 2 sales number
IIRC the PS2 gained that much system sold because they had a price cut somewhere down its timeline ... but the switch never did get any price cut.. and that is already an achievement.
Just saw a leaked future email that the Tombstone of Jim Ryan 1968 - 2055 states PS2 sold 355mln with a $1 price drop. On the bottom in fine print, "Some news media also stated that the extra systems sold stopped working 55 weeks later due to faulty parts." The Sony Bible states that everything must have a 55 in it & it's a secret to everyone.
The Switch will hit 200mil in it's lifetime. There is still so much runway left for Nintendo. The install base is massive, so I'm sure developers will continue to make software especially 2d remakes or arcade collections for a long time. There still is no price drop and no Nintendo Selects line. They can also release different models like a clamshell model, TV only model, etc. I think Neo Geo has the record for being supported the longest at around 15 years. I can see the Switch easily surpassing that.
The sales record is whatever. The Switch has already surpassed the PS2 in every metric other than the hardware sales record. No price cuts, no DVD player, and in way less time.
And switch buy people for being portable and second half for being a home console. So, we should split the sales by half cos nintendo is the only console who produces a portwble console this generation.
@JonBlack413 I owned 3x PS2s. ZERO games. The store I used to work at ran a phone deal of 24 month plan come with a free PS2-DVD player, and I guarantee none of the old folks where playing games on them. I'd not be surprised if 15~20% PS2 never played a game outside the demo disc included for free.
We will still see new releases even after Nintendo stops supporting the Switch in terms of first party content from 3rd party companies. Indie games, JRPGs from companies like Idea Factory (and some from Major companies like ATLUS and Square Enix that aren't too graphically intensive for the Switch to run) and other smaller Japanese companies, and visual novels will continue to see releases on the Switch even well after the release of the Switch 2. These types of games are popular in Japan and are starting to see some popularity in the west, in the case of VNs anyways. And because they don't require powerful hardware to run these games and they don't have too much going, they can run fine on the system. Plus there are some JRPGs and VNs that we still have yet to see ported to Switch like Sqaure Enix's Chrono Trigger, Key's Rewrite and Aquaplus' Utawarerumono trilogy and To Heart series (including Dungeon Travelers), among many others. I feel they would well on Switch given that these types of games have been successful on the console and they would also be a perfect fit for it.
The fact that they went from their worst selling console by far of any of the big 3 to potentially the best selling system of all time is insane. Now let's see if they can finally have a successful transition for once.
This is low key the only reason Nintendo is taking so long to release the Switch 2 already. Logically a successor should’ve released for this dinosaur two years ago.
I don’t think the hardware would have been ready until the end of this year, the software lineup was rumored to not be ready, and to make everything worse the yen’s value would make manufacturing all of those consoles very expensive. It made logical business sense to not release it until late 2024, and after that it made sense to delay the console 6 months.
That is not the reason The problem is that the Yen is pretty weak right now so manufacturing is more expensive than it needs to be They have to wait with large scale orders until the Yen gets stronger again
I do hope as we speak "NINTENDON'T" is very busy manufacturing those "Switch 2" for their early spring 2025 release so they have plenty to go around for errbody.🤞🏼
At this moment? Nintendo has shown themselves capable of manufacturing consoles (at their fastest) at a rate of 1 every second. Those kinds of investments are expensive, and with the current value of the yen it would be even more expensive. They can wait until late this year and have their 10 million planned systems for quarter 1 of the next system’s launch ready.
I think the Switch will fall a little short of the PS2 personally Although as some ppl have said the PS2 was often bought as a DVD player since it was cheaper than DVD players & that was the big new thing at the time
What would it take for the switch to pass at the Playstation 2 if you factor in the increase in population imagine that would make the PlayStation 2 be the equivalent of 165 million.
Sony are going to make a load more PS2s and get their staff to buy them to keep the record I don’t think switch will do it though..I hope it does but 19m is a lot for a 7 year old system at the end of its life
@@firestriker3580 it is definitely what is considered “the end of its life” in tech terms. Its replacement is due to come out and all but announced. Thats end of life
Tbh, Nintendo Switch will most likely pass 160m by the summer of 2025 (between July and August) based on their projected sales numbers for 2024 and 2025! Once they surpass the 160m mark, they will release the Switch 2 and discontinue development of the Switch 1. There will still be millions of consoles in circulation worldwide and in stock.
@darkdragonmedeus705 I just went to the official Nintendo website. Sale figures include digital, no asterisks.
Omg 😮Nintendo’s president just announced the ds sold another 15 million so it’s around 170 million sold
Ha! Nice one dude!
LOL
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm invested if the switch manages to overtake the PlayStation 2 in sales
Not the best option
LFG NIN!

I suspect we’ll see native Resident Evil games, Street Fighter 6, maybe even Final Fantasy xvi…
Who knows?
I’m still not sure why they didn’t put that on ps3 and use it to drive console sales…
But after God of War 2 the system was basically dead except for sports titles and just dance type games.
No console has done what the Switch has done. Which is all the more impressive, because the system was antiquated before it launched.
Nintendo has stated officially that they’ll support the switch until 2027, so it’s probably staying on the market until at least 2028.
The switch is pretty much already the best selling console because the only reason the PS2 sold so well was because it was first console where you could play DVD's and it was cheaper than DVD players at the time so people would buy it just to play DVD's
Sure thing buddy and I’m the King of England.

Never cared for Sony but the ps2 had one of the best pound for pound software lineup of all time.
Once the zelda lite comes out. That'll be my 7th switch to date
Breaking News Sony changes console sales to include used console sales data increasing PS2 to 230 Million.
Its sad Lyin' Cryin' Ryan has to make up numbers on a 2nd gen console just to stay relevant in the game space.
And didn't need to be a budget DVD player.
Please stop saying the ps2 is at 160 million, there was no statistical evidence substantiating that claim, it is literally something Jim Ryan just farted out and nothing more than anecdotal
I’ve preordered the Hyrule switch lite and still wanna pickup the animal crossing lite versions too. Love my switches.
How did the ps2 jumped from 155mil to 160mil 20 years later???
Magic.
No Sony did make the system weak. Legendary Resident Evil creator called Sony out on it that they made the lens weak to break & sell more.
No
The ps2 did not sell 160 million units. Its been at 155 for a decade. Well after manufacturing stopped.
The last 9 months of sales were never reported, it’s speculated by most to have sold 2 million more in that time. The final number for ps2 was probably around 157m
There were no sales during that time and no the sales were not 157,000,000, it was 155,000,000
From the whole list of recently games announced, the only one i bought really fast, was MvC fighting collection for the Switch, physical of course, thats a huge seller game
I don't think that the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection would be a particularly huge seller on Switch, but I hope that the combined sales of the Switch and other systems can convince Disney and Capcom to make a new Marvel vs. Capcom game
I also like the fact that the Switch does some great fighting games. I just hope that for the Switch's successor some titles like Street Fighter 6, The King of Fighers XV, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear: Strive and Tekken 8 could receive some Switch 2 ports
It would be a huge seller on the switch.
Yeah but the PS2 sold 180 million actually so it’s unlikely they can catch up now! This just in they originally sold 200 million!
400mln now after this post.
All falls and they don't need QOL improvements

As an added bonus to all those great games coming out this year, there’s a song hitting the Billboard charts by Sabrina Carpenter, with Nintendo’s name literally in the lyrics. It’s only a matter of time. 😂 shout out to Kit and Krysta for their latest video.

MP4 theme console likely to be next system. As it's sale in 2025 most likely to be cross gen release.
@@minecrafter3448 You mean 160 billion. Jim Ryan just updated his numbers again
@@minecrafter3448nah..think about it. They plan to hit 13,5 million from March 24 to March 25. So they will probably have 154 million in March 25 (and no switch 2 release most likely).
They will make it by this fiscal year and not by 2025.
Is... this even that important?

No
They definitely need a price cut on all models then they need a last big couple of exclusive for the switch and lastly a new model for the switch (lite OLED) would definitely help them get over the PlayStation 2 sales number
IIRC the PS2 gained that much system sold because they had a price cut somewhere down its timeline ... but the switch never did get any price cut.. and that is already an achievement.
They don't need a price cut
If they want to beat PS2, releasing Switch Lite OLED would have made it so easy
Better not to saturate it's market.
Just saw a leaked future email that the Tombstone of Jim Ryan 1968 - 2055 states PS2 sold 355mln with a $1 price drop.
On the bottom in fine print, "Some news media also stated that the extra systems sold stopped working 55 weeks later due to faulty parts."
The Sony Bible states that everything must have a 55 in it & it's a secret to everyone.
I don’t think 200 mil is possible if the switch 2 is coming next year. But I could easily see 170-180 million which is still insane.
Switch 2 gen might last 10 years (2025 - 2035), if it fixes most issues from Switch 1 and adds more options, it'll outsell it
@@TimDespairBear11 Wait till Nintendo figures out how to do one for between $100-$130, it'll be bonkers.

Playstation 2 is a little misleading. A lot of people bought them as a DVD player. I remember my aunt having one with no games.

when i first glanced at the title, i thought this was a video about the switch being stronger than the ps2 and i was like "damn just barely though"

Hey OJ
Jim Ryan doesn’t like this video
This is low key the only reason Nintendo is taking so long to release the Switch 2 already. Logically a successor should’ve released for this dinosaur two years ago.
I don’t think the hardware would have been ready until the end of this year, the software lineup was rumored to not be ready, and to make everything worse the yen’s value would make manufacturing all of those consoles very expensive. It made logical business sense to not release it until late 2024, and after that it made sense to delay the console 6 months.
That is not the reason
The problem is that the Yen is pretty weak right now so manufacturing is more expensive than it needs to be
They have to wait with large scale orders until the Yen gets stronger again
I do hope as we speak "NINTENDON'T" is very busy manufacturing those "Switch 2" for their early spring 2025 release so they have plenty to go around for errbody.🤞🏼
At this moment? Nintendo has shown themselves capable of manufacturing consoles (at their fastest) at a rate of 1 every second. Those kinds of investments are expensive, and with the current value of the yen it would be even more expensive. They can wait until late this year and have their 10 million planned systems for quarter 1 of the next system’s launch ready.
@minecrafter3448 🤔👍🏼I truly can't wait tbh. This generation SUCKZZ and there's absolutely nothing worth while.
