Every surf story begins with a call to the ocean.
Traditions passed on from woman to woman, over generations and through history.
And suddenly something different. A call to the ocean. A need to connect with the most feminine element of all. A dip into the unknown, a learning curve, a new story to be written.
When Ishita Malaviya first picked up a surfboard, she could count all of India’s native surfers on her fingers. Now, she’s India’s first - and only - professional female surfer.

I remember back in the 70's in Bali, the locals were afraid of the ocean as well, and women wouldn't go in it, now some of the best surfers are the locals! Shaka Ishita!
