This is a very impressive washer! Water levels are really nice and improved over their older models. The rinse was amazing and I love the new stainless paddles. Please film more cycles of this washer. I'd like to see the heavy duty, towels and permanent press cycles all with clothes and soap. If you're concerned about soap, use unscented like Tide Free and Gentle so it doesn't leave any perfume in the washer. Thanks Kirk!
U know the wm4500hba has a drum light and a feature called ez dispense. Its a dual compartment in the detergent drawer and you fill up a month's worth of detergent and fabric softner in each department and depending on the cycle, soil level, and load size, it will automatically dispense the right amount in
Excellent rinsing. Spray rinse after the wash a good deep rinse with a decent amount of water followed by another spray rinse. I think they really improved the performance of the Normal cycle. It would be good to test with detergent and see the result at the end whether there is a strong scent leftover.
After hearing all of those features I already started to like this washer. Plus 14 different cycles to choose from. I can't wait for other videos of this washer.
I was going to buy a top load because of the amount of dirt we have due to my grooming and i volunteered at a dog shelter. So someone suggested a top load. They are not made like they use to be. Horrible LG WT7300 and when you buy it from home depot no returns.
I saw the LG WM4000HWA go on sale over Black Friday week and lasted until December 1st. Any chance this newer 2020 model WM4200HWA will go on sale along with the 4000 for Christmas Week or possibly Presidents Day in February? Do the newer LG models ever go on sale or just the older gen models?
So there seems to be a few new washing patterns and actions that im not used to seeing. It has a weird way to start the rinse cycle. It uses filtration - 1 of the 6 tumbling motions. But it did use too much water for the rinse cycle
2 others I want to see: 1. wm4500 with laundry detergent and fabric softener in the designated auto dispensers. 2. gtw525acpwb with deep clean and deep/extra rinse.
I came away very impressed with this the only thing I wish it did was 2 rinses on the default cycle. Here is my request, if you do it nice, if you don't fine. Wash what you fancy, Towels cycle, TurboWash, extra high spin. Another minor thing: consider running TurboWash on any cycles you film that allow it. The jets are one of the big selling points of this model.
That's what I came to try and find out. It's not a deal-breaker for me but it is a bummer since the 10 year old set i'm looking to replace has a light! Even the product photos of this model and the black version on LG's own website show a drumlight.
@@Raeeban I just received this washer this week. There’s no light inside and this was not an option when purchasing at Home Depot. The washer has a chemical smell remaining after 10+ washes, and the accompanying dryer smells like burning rubber inside the drum and inside the room any time you run it on a setting other than air dry. I suspect the heat is heating up the rubber ring and causing a smell. I’m running old towels through the washer to try to soak up the chemical smell from the drum but both may be going back at this rate. The washer is also warm inside even after running cold water only. An LG tech came and said he will replace the electronic board to try to mitigate this, and reluctantly said “lg isn’t what it was a few years ago.” He also states that this tech is basically in its beta phase via customers. If both units didn’t have smell issues and it ran on cold without heating the water, I’d be mainly happy. I miss certain settings and customization available from the old LG Tromm. The hand wash setting is only available by download from the app, and you can only have one special setting downloaded to the washer at a time. You also can’t customize the premade settings on the app, nor can you make an entirely custom setting. On the dryer, I miss the option to set it on ultra low heat to run for 1 hour 25 minutes. I had this saved as a custom setting on the Tromm and used this exclusively to stop my clothes from shrinking. This is not an option on the ThinQ dryer. The app does not allow this type of custom setting that you make yourself.
@@Gbee-cp2rg I was considering buying this LG 4200 Washer and wondered if you could share if you are still unhappy with yours or if you even still have it? Any feedback would be so very appreciated... thanks so much in advance! :-) Pam
Looks like this is a good washer at least. But I don't think the newest one like this can be lasting longer. Even though most people have always known that LG is a very good brand, even mostly in Vietnam as LG washing machines, becomes so popular, I still don't like them as in my opinion. My neighbor's LG front load washing machine which was the 8kg model (bought in 2016), at 4 months ago it had had a water leaking and PCB broken, sadly it had only lasted about 4 years, not even I could expect that LG could last long at least 7 years or even longer. It was replaced by the most expensive Toshiba heat pump washer dryer, good machine but it was too expensive that I don't even think it would be much better
@Isaac Joby John I just realized that LG can only be good if they are before 2015 models. Not sure why my neighbor's LG washing machine got broken so fast. But those PCBs were nearly impossible to repair 😕
The smaller European LGs are made in Poland and Russia and aren’t as good quality. The bigger American models made in Korea and Vietnam are really good quality and don’t ever fail regularly
I'm watching this because I bought this washer. The door isn't closing tight and if I wiggle it the door is not firm...it wiggles. When washing large loads or king comforter the door bangs. It's not closing firmly. I'm probably taking it back for a new one.
Do you answer consumers questions? You ask at the end of the video to ask questions if you have them and that you’d get back to them as soon as you can but… call me crazy but I feel like 7 months is more than enough time to at least answer one question.
Understood your frustration. 😉 Sometimes UA-camrs don't mean what they say because they don't have the time or energy to answer questions, and they really don't have the obligation to answer questions as every thing is free to the viewers. @justinbustin677 ohhh haha. That’s a very common issue with installers who don’t have experience and/or are in a hurry. Usually when the shipping bolts are still in people always comment that it sounds like it’s about to blow up or run a track race around the house and ur comment didn’t sound that bad lol
How can anything be cleaned in this machine. It's a pile of wet clothes tumbling around. No water to speak of to rinse away any dirt. Thinking of an elderly bedridden person who has several bowel accidents, and throwing soiled sheets into a machine with literally no wash water to speak off. I would not feel comfortable with this. Just saying.
Aren’t too many new front loaders you can get that use this much water. I work around a lot of fertilizer and heavy equipment so my clothes get absolutely filthy and my clothes always come out clean.
You are right Stephen, same position here. This is how you solve the problem. The LG is probably the best choice and there is a formula to follow, and people who mouth off about water levels and machine operation to ignore. Buy any of the newer LG front loader washers, with or without the turbo features. The front loader will actually do a far better job than the top loaders, even the older ones from years ago. Here is the formula: open the top cover, 2 screws at the back. Find the water level control (there's video's on this). Break the red lock tight seal. Pay attention to the starting position. Turn the big Phillips looking screw (a flathead worked better for me) exactly one full turn, then another half turn. Cover that screw with a small piece of duct tape to prevent and air interference from that area. Close up the top. To operate the machine here is what you do: top loaders work by pushing clothes THRU water. Front loaders work by pushing water thru clothes. For dirty stuff like you are talking about, front loader spread the feces around real good, remember they are running water thru clothes. You changed that narrative by adding about 3 gallons of water into your wash. For regular washing, always select these choices - Quick wash, warm water, high spin, high soil, 3 extra rinses. Should take about 34 minutes. For heavier washes, use the TOWELS setting. Use warm water, high spin, normal soil, 2 extra washes. If the machine you bought has Turbo Wash or 360, turn that on. For the dirty clothes and sheet from "accidents", use the SANITARY cycle. Always add the extra rinses. Se POWDER soap and not liquid. Maximum 2 tablespoons, I use Tide. You can add 3 teaspoons of phosphates (Amazon) too (I do). For whites and sterilization use 3 tablespoons liquid Clorox and fill to the line with water. These washers are great at getting soap INTO the clothes, suck at getting the soap OUT. You need to be super careful NOT to put to much soap into these machines. The tumbling wash action will get your clothing and bedding cleaner than the top loaders. The trick is to add 3-4 more gallons of water. Then these things shine like no other washer. They get shipped out with California water level specifications to the whole country and most places have no need of those water levels. Even with adding 3-4 gallons of water we are nowhere near the 45 gallons the old top loader washers used so we are still conserving heavily. The way I described to set and use the washer will be magical and pleasant to do the wash in the stressful situation you are in. One more thing, as you observe the washer, the LG adds less water to the wash cycle and more to the rinse cycle, so the water WILL or CAN get to the door level. Obviously don't open the door while it's washing :) And ignore the well meaning ignorant folks that try to defend a failed washing system. The good news is it is easy to fix :)
@@JH-cn7ql To add water you turn that screw (I used a flat head screwdriver as it fit the best not to damage that screwhead) CLOCKWISE. A good practice is to note or mark the starting point, then turn it one full clockwise turn, and then test your results. My final adding of water for my LG 3770 was 1.75 turns. So I turned it one full turn, added another half turn and added another 1/4 turn. Another way to approach this, is to add just a little water to keep the original "dry" water LG designed into the machine but add a little more water. Or to go with plenty of water (you are really adding maybe 4 gallons of water at most) so it is sloshing around in there and operates with a cleaning you would get with an old top loader washer. They used 30 to 50 or more gallons of water. This way you are using maybe 8 gallons. And one more thought, if it feels overwhelming to try something like this you can do a test that is harmless. When the wash cycle is running, open the drawer for the soap and add a gallon of water at a time till it gets higher. I would go max 3 or 4 gallons and stop. The washer can run more water thru the soap dispenser so do it quickly :)
