Well well, look who's back to the hardest mod in Hearts of Iron 4.
World Ablaze is literally one of the worst and the best mods that Tommy has played and he's absolutely losing his mind in this one as Italy.
Italy in World Ablaze might be one of the biggest challenges he has faced in his HOI4 career to the point that he has almost spent 30 hours on it already.
Yes a little spoiler for you guys reading the description, there's gonna be another World Ablaze Italy video because Tommy isn't giving up on the hardest HOI4 challenge he has encountered.
This is literally like Endsieg, but it's WW2 Italy impossible challenge.

I think this time, not finishing the game was valid. AI was cheating like crazy.
Tommy mentioning a time machine just makes me want to see a C&C Red Alert mod for HOI4.

Tommy let me suggest somthing, sometimes you have to force your suplly to use railways by denying convoy acces to a not safe trade route, like on egypt your convoys were fucked, but if stuff instead came from idk libya then moved up to egypt you should have had supllies. Anyeay it was a stressful match gg
Good tip, i got fucked supply as italy with same issue. Wierd how AI doesnt prioritize railways before convoys
15:00 Tommy, I had something similar. I figured out that it happened because one of my ram stick wasn't connected properly and with slight movements my pc would crash. Would just recommend to check all internal components are slotted in properly.
Without Mods in Singleplayer Italy is one of the absolute best nations at all.
And it has such a nice Focus Tree!

I love how tommy is experiencing the pain of not having a way to give supply to volunteers. He also isn't getting supply in Africa cause of his convoys being raided.
You should puppet the warlords in Ethipia instead of annexing, you will get a bunch of free divisions.
And I think France in hoi 4 (yes I said on every comment) is less powerfull than it should do, paradox need to massively buff France (give more factory in the beginning of the game, more pp and insutry outpout bonuses. In reality their army was bigger than the german one in the beggining of 1940 (they lose because of the Dunkerke pocket were they lose a bunch of equipments)
You can’t really simulate the push through the Ardennes in hoi4 tho so if u buff France too much they will just beat Germany
If you give the Allies the resources that they actually had IRL, then allow a player to micromanage everything 1000x more efficiently than IRL, then France + UK would beat Germany 99% of the time, especially in multiplayer. Barbarossa would go even worse for Germany
@Fot67 I think you shall get a better and more realistic hoi 4 were the axis is on historical more difficult (the hard mode).
But it is easy to make the Soviet Union remain neutral if France don't fell or the USA refusing to entering the war if the allied are not loosing and preffering just doing lend lease then you can have a game who still allow the Axis to win sometimes.
Temporary severe drastically impacting debuffs are way to go to simulate that.
@@fot6771 true but France is a joke. They have crappy divisions, no guns and no industry and are portrayed as completely unable to beat Germany which is far beyond inaccurate. Meanwhile Germany is a total beast with no industrial or political problems, while the real Germany would’ve probably gone bankrupt if they had survived to mir years.
If anyone here likes masochistic rng bullshit challenge in HoI4, I recommend trying Shanxi in the "8 years war of resistance" mod

Italy was very fun, if you want to win early balkans like tommy, but sit for like 4 years until economy is auturky(steel) and stronger then uk. civilian economy is your best friend inter wars. cas is king in this mod

This mod is stupid, why do modders and paradox just increase supply limit for harder ai? Make it something that you can actually beat and outplay, don't take away my options... I understand why he quit
I wanted to test how stupid the mod was, and I'm not surprised it was very stupid, I tried to use the best ships in the game as Italy, and still I had hre ships sitting half of their time in the dockyards or being sunk by way inferior British vessels, the mod doesn't make sense

theres a difference between being hard and being unfair. If you lose to an olympic sprinter sure. But this mod litterly shoots you in both knees and gives the other sprinters motorcycles to compete with you, which doesnt make it not just hard but unfair.
And thats why this mod is frustrating and shit. If i lose to a professional sure but not this bullshit cheat.

I'm interested how the French fleet had almost as much light attack with half the ships.
@@Tovalokodonc Better quality ships. But the mod also seems to cheat on ships, making the AI ships ridiculous.
@@user-pj6ch6cc4d That doesn't make sense as Italian destroyers generally had the same layout of armaments. Only difference being is that Italian destroyers used 120mms, while French destroyers used 130mms.
@@Tovalokodonc I generally mean in terms of capital ships, like the French do have a carrier, and armament does not necessarily mean better quality. But I know the mods bullshit with this stuff, I've played as both Japan and USA and the AI navy is always superior even if you have more and better ships and planes.

It makes sense if your playing Italy and fighting against actual majors to not do as well. Italy doesn’t have the best military plus France’s terrain to fight through Italy because of mountains. If you fix Italy’s military problems they will have a chance.
Also I thought Tommy liked a challenge in mods because he’s claims they’re way too easy. Then he rages about how the mod is because he doesn’t get his way or something went slightly wrong. Sometimes it takes several tries and sure some issues might be on the mods some of it could be Tommy’s problem because he didn’t think of the right strategy.
It is not Tommy's fault, did you see the supply bonuses the ai gets? They can run around without a railway and Tommy can't push when he is 2 tiles away from a supply hub

There's a stark contrast between hard and unfair. There's a difference to when the AI is better and when port guards can push your tanks.

@@Tovalokodonc played a few hundred hours of the mod and can confirm its not broken. the mod is very hard to get good at but it is possible. they have a community to help people as well which makes it much easier to learn.

Yeah, had the same problems with Hungary playthrough. Ten 7 2 1 inf. couldn't push underequipped, unorganised German division on a plain. Also, good luck playing with anything Central European. If Germany capitulates a script turns all countries communist and sets 1946 borders. Never touching this mod again.
