    There's just something about that sixth chair that makes celebrities act defiant about giving a good answer with the other five!

    H/H match update for episode 1447:
    ...
    ~~~First, a little trivia:
    The Broadway comedy "Break a Leg" written by Ira Levin and directed by Charles Nelson Reilly opened on April 29, 1979. It also closed on April 29, 1979. (It did have 12 preview performances prior to the single official performance.)
    Premise: "A theater company - repeatedly savaged by the most venomous critic in the land - uses their skills to stage real-life scenarios to bring about his downfall."
    Here's an excerpt of what "The New York Times" had to say on April 30, 1979: “Break a Leg,” which opened last night at the Palace Theater, has one large funny joke in the first act, and one little but appealing joke in the second. On those rations two talented comedians - Jack Weston and Rene Auberjonois - and one talented but in this case unemployed actress - Julie Harris - disintegrate, as people will do when stranded in a large desert with cocoa and half a sandwich.
    ~~~Followed by a random note: Did you notice yesterday Brett said her old tag line for the first time in several years: "You can swing that in ragtime!" I love the expression and was glad to hear it again as the series comes to a close.
    ~~~Today's action: Game, what game? Oh, yeah. Yesterday's game ended in a tie, but then the challenger chose an answer for her tie-breaker that didn't match a single star. (To be fair, the panel gave a lot of dumb answers too.)
    So we start today with our champ needing to match just one star to win her fourth game.
    After Gene mocks her answer and says he honestly doesn't expect anyone on the panel to match, she gets two matches! Both Dick and Orson were weird enough today to send our champion to center stage for her 4th Super-Match.
    *Today's audience match question: "The Days of_______"*
    My thoughts: (Old, Yore, Wine and Roses)
    The celebs: Dick (Wine and Roses), Brianne (Our Lives), Fannie via Brett (Old)
    The choice: Wine and Roses (The audience liked it, but they also liked Brianne's answer which actually sounds better to me in retrospect.)
    The answers: Old, Our Lives, Wine and Roses - Good job! That was honestly my third thought and I didn't like it all that much, but this champion knew better!
    Well, our champion has had fine success in the H/H, matching both Charles and Brett so far (her first question with Marcia last week didn't win her any money). Let's see who her fourth H/H partner will be...
    She gives it a hearty spin and it stops on Bill, and it's worth $10,000!
    Stats: Bill has matched 3 of his 7 attempts so far, most recently in 1439.
    *Today's H/H question: "_______Sweep"*
    (Clean sweep. What else could it be?)
    Bill decides quickly (or they edited the tape for broadcast purposes, even though it was never broadcast). He glances at Fannie, but doesn't change his mind. Ding.
    The champ seems to still be pondering as Gene asks. "Well, I'm going to go with 'Clean Sweep'," she says. The audience is 100% on board. (Me too, obviously.)
    Today it's Fannie who pulls off the fake-out. As Bill draws out the tension, looking at his answer before turning the card around, Fannie pats his back and says "Oh, Bill, I'm sorry, Baby."
    Finally he reveals... "Clean"!
    Bill scores his 4th H/H match today! (And climbs a few positions on the leader board!)
    ~~~Here's our updated leader board showing the 15 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies they've "retired" from the show and their H/H stats are now complete.)
    (For tied scores, the one with the greater number of matches is considered to be higher.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 matches in 4 attempts).
    (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts).
    (*)Debralee Scott - 66.7% (4 matches in 6 attempts).
    (*)Joyce Bulifant - 57.1% (4 matches in 7 attempts).
    (*)Charles - 51.1% (48 matches in 94 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 50.0% (6 matches in 12 attempts).
    Bill Daily - 50.0% (4 matches in 8 attempts).
    Elaine Joyce - 50.0% (3 matches in 6 attempts).
    (*)Betty - 47.2% (25 matches in 53 attempts).
    Fannie - 46.7% (21 matches in 45 attempts).
    (*)Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 matches in 18 attempts).
    (*)Richard - 42.5% (373 matches in 878 attempts).
    Brett - 40.4% (44 matches in 109 attempts).
    (*)Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 matches in 15 attempts).
    (*)Nipsey Russell - 25.0% (3 matches in 12 attempts).
    *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1447, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. (Note: episode 849 was never produced.) These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036. These stats do, however, include results of episodes 1309 through 1317, found on channels other than this one. (For missing episode 1406, the results of the second H/H have been revealed and are included in these stats, but it's unknown which celeb played the first H/H, which was not a match.)

    Sometimes the questions had such obvious answers like the red-Fred-dead one. As opposed to some others like the spy satellite one that are so hard.

      Yeah, the spy satellite question was hard. Nothing really came to mind, and after hearing all the panel's answers, I still don't know what the definitive answer might have been.
