    Honestly it's the last minute of the speech that gets me, ever since I was a kid, I remember hear it this on Tv as a tyke. "Slipped the slurry bonds of Earth to touch the face of God." It honestly makes me weep like a lamb. He was the great communicator for a reason.

      Honestly, this is one of the most statesmanlike speeches of all time. No politics, no cheap jabs, just a genuine heartfelt eulogy. He read the room absolutely perfectly.

    I was to young to remember Reagan, I was born in 85, but I love listening to him speak. And I wish I was older during his presidency. My favorite speech he gave was “We Must Fight.” It gives me goosebumps every time.

    A Very Truly Touching and In-depth speech that Traumatically defines the Presidency of Ronald Reagan on that very Fateful and Tragic Day of January 28th, 1986 just five months before I was actually born and will always be remembered as the national tragedy of that Presidential Period in American History and that to the Space Shuttle Crew Of The Challenger you’ll live on forever in all of us 😥😥😪😰

    This was a fantastic speech. Reagan always gave amazing speeches, but this and his address at their memorial service on January 31st were his two most eloquent.

      I was in third grade, and I remember all our teachers herding into one room to watch his speech. Even that young, I understood every word he said directly to us, the schoolchildren. They didn't call him The Great Communicator for nothing. He understood us so well, and was an incredibly empathetic leader, a real man if I ever saw one. I miss him deeply.

    Trumps inability to even for a second come across like a president who addresses the entire nation and brings people together brought me back here. Ronald Reagan well earned the title of the great communicator, everything about this speech hit exactly the right tone. This is more than just being a good actor, this shows a profound ability to resonate with people. I didn’t care for Reagan’s politics but as a political operator and an orator he was fantastic - reassuring, commanding and charismatic.

    Ronald Reagan with the early onset of Alzheimer's in his second term (1985-1989) still spoke with more clarity than Donald Trump does. The Republican party needs another Ronald Reagan.

    Remember when he Democrats said Reagan was senile at this point?

    • @jogman262
      @jogman262 4 місяці тому

      No, it came from an interview Reagan had with CBS's Leslie Stahl. Stahl said when she met with Reagan he didn't seem to know who she was but kind of snapped out of it and proceeded normally with the talk. White House aides told Stahl, Reagan had those episodes before. So it was Reagan's own people talking like that about him, not the Democrats.
