Here is Johnny’s video on Elon Musk: ua-cam.com/video/WYQxG4KEzvo/v-deo.htmlsi=hOMEQyuj7hA2rdss

    • @Unbiased321

@farzyness Johnny's comment on China being a force for good is not based in reality. You guys really need to start following China Uncensourced here on UA-cam that covers what China is doing on a weekly basis. They brag about being the biggest solar producer in the world and leading the green revolution but at the same time they're building tons of coal plants and polluting more than the entire world combined. They're also bragging about their electric vechile production which of course is impressive but they have no intrest in ensuring enviroemental standards or safety standards in that production which is why we see tons of chinese electric cars and scooters that catch fire.
The reason you might have a positive image on china is because China heavily controls their social media and news. Bad stories from china doesn't spread around the world in the same way as with other countries because they get shut them down. However, channels like China Uncensored publish these stories every week because they catch them before they're taken off the Chinese internet. Other good channels to get a better view on what is going on behind the scenes are The China Show (by two western guys who lived in china for many years) and the China Observer.

I totally agree with the trauma comments. I’ve always thought that played a major role. When you’re pushed that far by someone who should have been your greatest cheerleader, you develop the capacity to push that far in your own aspirations. It’s sort of like to the extent that you pull the rock back in the slingshot, it projects in the other direction to that extent. Some people, unfortunately, don’t learn from it and project in the other direction. They stay in that negative area. I grieve for people whose parents treated them that way. I’m grateful that Elon has risen above it, like the Phoenix from the ash as you said. Isaacson stated that Elon was very guarded about that information for quite a long time before he finally revealed his relationship with his father. I hope that talking about it was cathartic. Kimbal corroborates it all and you can tell it pains him even to talk about it as well.

I admit to being a left leaning moderate, and find a lot of Elon's political comments cringe and ironically thoughtless, but I also worked in technology development for many years and know what it takes to make a vision real and profitable. He is the best there is, truly making the impossible merely late. I am concerned about his politics but I believe he is well intentioned, if mean spirited at times.

The left has driven way past its junction and for this reason that which was viewed as moderate is now considered right wing. Musk is a moderate. It is also perfectly ok to have political opinions and support your chosen Presidential candidate now matter he be black, brown rainbow, white or yes.... Orange!! To be clear, there are NO absolute correct assumptions. Just your (or my) opinions which might be right or might be wrong!! Truth is not mean. It just means you don't like it. JD, I absolutely agree. The term, "left," has become a misdirection to manufacture consent amongst the working class. Similar to how magicians/illusionists operate.
"Left" is used by the liberal right (and populists and conservative right) to confuse the priorities of empire and status quo over the prosperity of workers.

    Realistic Robotaxi Plan for Tesla
    1. Tesla can use FSD to deliver a car to the customer:
Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology can autonomously deliver vehicles to customers' locations, providing a convenient and efficient service.
    2. Let customers use their own insurance to drive the car as if they were rental cars:
Customers can drive the delivered car using their personal insurance, similar to how traditional rental cars operate.
    Advantages:
    1. Saving the insurance fee:
By allowing customers to use their own insurance, Tesla can eliminate the additional insurance costs typically associated with rental or ride-sharing services.
    2. Appealing to a broader range of customers:
Customers who do not fully trust FSD technology can still use the robotaxi service by driving the cars themselves. This flexibility makes the service more attractive to a wider audience, including those who prefer traditional driving.

Bias acknowledges an inherent reason to stay open-minded about other views. It reminds us that our perspectives can be limited or influenced by various factors, including conflicts of interest and over-representing personal experiences in one’s analysis. Being open to different viewpoints helps ensure a more balanced and comprehensive understanding of any issue. Simply asserting that everyone has a point of view lends itself to the argument that we should only listen to those who are far more informed than others; many will take the most knowledgeable word for it. Even the most informed are prone to harming the innocent often with the best intentions.

52:45 - This is a persistent misconception, Farzad. While some do see social mobility due to capitalism, they are the outliers (including you and me). We're the *exception* to the rule; not the rule. The US only has 12% social mobility. Scandinavian countries average 16%. 20% between each economic quintile is considered "perfect" social mobility. IAW you have an equal chance of mobility based on your work ethic, etc. This is not really true in the US, though the ones at the top keep spreading that lie to make it seem like the system that enriched them is the ONLY POSSIBLE OPTION. It's like someone starting a game of Monopoly owning all the properties. What do you imagine their perception the game of Monopoly is compared to someone who DOES NOT start with any properties? Probably pretty favorable, as it is rigged in their favor. This is why ever since the US embraced the neoliberal system, we have ruthlessly backed any coups we could to destroy socialism and communism around the world - no one should be allowed to play a game other than Monopoly, which those in power own all the board pieces to. "Please stay, and keep playing the game I can't lose!"
Social democracies like those in Scandinavia, actually have higher social mobility scores, due to robust social safety nets like free healthcare, and/or college. No one becomes lazy because they have those social safety nets. In fact, to the contrary... Scandinavia has the *MOST* millionaires per capita in the world! It's EASIER to become a millionaire there, despite the BS about the "American Dream".
You even contradict yourself here. Remember all those times you talked about how Optimus would free up people's time to pursue meaningful endeavors? What do you think UBI, and other socialist policies do? They don't make you give up and be lazy, they empower you to be even more productive. Would you say that you have better relationships now that you quit working? I would. Being freed form the necessity to work for someone else's profits reduces my stress, makes me MORE productive, happier, a better sibling, son, etc.

It's not some small theological difference, but rather the idea of freedom of thought and action, that one should be able to think for themselves. Unfortunately though, this seems to have been significantly lost in the interim.

Disagree with Farzad’s remark about morality being subjective. The fact that we say that something is better than something else by continually making choices demonstrates that a morality is implicit in everything you do. Some things, actions, etc. are better than others; it depends on the intentions or needs of the situation. If someone needs a hammer, a large fist sized stone would be better than one that is flat and slim which would be ideal for skipping.
