This was so informative, you did an incredible job explaining each town lining the DE shoreline. Im retiring from Milwaukee, and your state has really peaked my interest! My only concern is weather, how cold does the DE shore get in winter? Just a side note, when I first got out of college, my first project was in Philly, lived in Jenkintown; was there 3 months and never got a Philly Cheesesteak!😦
Hi Joel. I am so sorry that you never experienced the south Philly cheesesteak battle of Pat's and Geno's! If you move to Delaware, you will have to make the day trip up to try out both of them! In regards to the weather; Winter weather in Delaware is typically mild to moderately cold, with temperatures ranging from the mid-20s to mid-40s Fahrenheit. The state receives moderate snowfall, averaging 15-20 inches annually, along with rain, sleet, and occasional snowstorms. Windy conditions, especially along the coast, and high humidity levels can make the cold feel more biting. Overall, Delaware experiences relatively moderate winters with occasional severe weather.
Hey Joe, to answer your question, coastal DE does not receive a severe winter like Milwaukee. Lots of rain perhaps during the winter and maybe a little bit of snow. How can I compare to the Midwest, well I grew up in Peoria, Illinois, so the prairie winters are more severe than in coastal DE. Great place to retire here in lower coastal DE.
