- Accused number 3, Mthobisi Mncube, was nowhere near the Senzo Meyiwa crime scene in the hours leading up to the soccer star's killing.
That's the contention of his lawyer, Advocate Charles Mnisi, who argued that cellphone data supports Mncube's version.
This, while the state contends that Mncube was the trigger man on 26 October 2014.

They were in the vicinity of Vosloorus when the Vosloorus tower 🗼 pinged, which is perfectly normal because the place they were at is within the radius of the Vosloorus tower. The fraud was committed when the police unlawfully replaced Senzo's number with the number of accused No. 5 to create the impression that he had been in communication with Kelly. The first day they appeared in court, which was on the 26th of October 2020 ( isn't that weird?) they protested but no one was willing to listen to them. This is the first time since their arrest that they have been given a chance to give their version. So, it's not weird at all. Actually, there are witnesses on the defence side who will come and collaborate their version because all along we've been hearing evidence from the state's side.
