The Imperial Russian Ballet - Polovtsian Dances (Prince Igor)

I love everething in this performance THANKYOU
definitlely one of the best versions of the polovtsian dances. bravo!
I loved that coloratura soprano who sang the soprano solo.😍😍
This is fantastic. I am totally captivated by the voice of the lead soprano, such sweet singing, so nice to hear this sung in a language other than English. My favourite excerpt of Orchestral/Choral music
Wonderful choral singing and the choreography was as good as the original Fokine. Fantastic solo dancers!
The principal dancer she is extraordinarily gorgeous. She’s so elegant. Her cape and costumes are a gift for the eyes.
9.42 The best music, the best song!
From the Sonoran Desert of the Americas: Thank you, Sofia.
Very nice choruses.
To Sofia, with love from Texas.
The depth of Russian culture. So intense.
The Polovtsians were a nomadic Turkic people who roamed the Eurasian steppes during medieval times and had notable interactions with various Eastern European and Central Asian civilizations.
They left their mark on history and culture through references in works of art, such as "Prince Igor," an opera by the Russian composer Alexander Borodin. In this opera, the Polovtsian warriors are depicted as fierce and exotic figures. The opera includes the famous "Polovtsian Dances," which have become a well-known piece of classical music.
This is a free copy paste information that internet can provide you. So after all, looks like it is an impact of Turkic culture which used by Russians.
"If you were trying to say that Russians are also capable of creating an opera, then you are correct."
this is a depth of split soul.. one leg in Asia another in Europe.. The head in wild boreal forest - the heart in endless steppe. Eurasian rhythm beats in our hearts
🤩
Who is the Princes ? Name ? What a grace ! Beautiful dance, and those hands !
Lina Shevelyova
👍❤👍
stunning performances (best version i've found on youtube i must say) but i wonder where is prince Igor?
Since the prince didn't have any singing parts in these excerpts, it looks like they just left him out altogether. The prince is supposed to be sitting next to Khan during the Polovtsian Dances.
This is definitely not the best version on UA-cam.

Just found this video. Who is the beautiful girl in chorus. The one with large earrings on the right of the three in background.
It's Borodin's Boris Godunov, not Prince Igor. This is the choreography performed by the Bolshoi as compared to the Kirov, now, Mariinsky Ballet, which performs the original Michel Fokine choreography (tweaked by Nijinsky, it is said)..
i love the Mariinsky Ballet
I thought Boris Godunov was by Mussorgsky, not Borodin !
LOL 😆
wow
classical Fokin's choreography is more interesting, I think (in Mariinsky theatre)

Even Bulgaria has voices. There's hope for all of us.
John Leach hah, but these dancers and singers from russia, not bulgarian :)
@@ohelsi If all else fails read the discription/explanation etc. LOL Arnold Bourbon Amaral 😳🌏🌎🌍
Es un grupo de aficionados?
Too much Red... the back ground , most of the costumes otherwise all nice💐👏
Yes, the Khan has vocal lines (talking to Igor) during the 3/4 dance--were they omitted? The Bolshoi production is much better--check it out!. The choreography is well thought out and their dancers are better trained and energetic! In this video the dancers arms seem to flail at times and their jumps are not precise!

Too much cheography. Not natural enough.
This is a ballet, idiot, which means CHOREOGRAPHY .
I agree with Joseph. This is not the best production that I have seen, sorry.
