- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was all over the place. I'm not a fan. Some people love it. There's nothing wrong with that. One of my biggest issues with BvS was the film's big finale and many of those problems stemmed from Lex's monster, Doomsday. So I'm going to walk you through the three ways that I think the finale would be greatly improved if you removed Doomsday and added a different Superman villain: Bizarro.

I don't understand how hundreds of thousands of fans can make great film ideas for the DC Universe but Warner Brothers just can't seem to get it together. This was a super super good solution bro. All they have to do is listen to us and they would have gotten it from the jump!
It's not a good Idea, because if Snyder used his idea, people would still hate it because Snyder's name would be on it.
Because the suits at WB don’t read comics, watch cartoons, or play video games... they take the biggest parts of each universe and tries to milk them for coin. They don’t give a shit about fans and source material
I always say this! I mean even I could write better than the comic book films in most cases and I'm like...nobody 😂
Except it doesn't work. In the DCEU world they have just started to know about the metahuman thesis. Lex doesn't have the knowledge nor the tools to do it. It took the him years to at least make bizarro in the comics. 2 years wont cut it. Making Lex learn from kryptonian tech is a viable way of making him the smartest man on earth, it actually supports his knowledge base and intellect level because he was able to understand and absorb that advance a level science. Not only that, superman can handle bizarro, not so much doomsday.
And lastly it ruins the whole point of Doomsday. Doomsday represents Lex's failure, his schemes weren't working, so he opted for a straightforward route. Add in anozher layer, and you get: failure in breaking the spirit, so breaking the body is next.
Because it's easy to be a brilliant author in hindsight.

Great idea!! You could also say that Lex was trying to remove Bizarro's weakness to Kryptonite but didn't have the time which is why he has the same weakness as superman. It feels a bit weird that Lex wouldn't have a plan for Bizarro to face Batman's Kryptonite weapons
Would lex know/does he know that batman's working on such weapons? I haven't actually read the comics so I truly don't know.

His face in the opening scene looked like Henry's twin that was slightly different...JL was awesome, but as usual out of sheer habit people take a few flaws and blanket the whole perception of the movie with negativity ...I could sit here and clown on Captain America's weird looking big CGI'd head on a skinny body in first Avenger ..

I also thought of Bizarro instead of Doomsday. when they showed doomsday in the trailer, i thought it was toooooooo early af. So Bizarro would really make more sense, and you dude, just nailed this. How about a hero that hasn't had a film yet. Blue Beetle, Doom Patrol or Adam Warlock. Maybe someone else.

Yo... Amazo in your Justice League rewrite would totally reinforce this story-wise, of him constantly creating Superman replicas out of sheer jealousy of Clark's power, and it's the reason why Bruce is able to put it all together at the eleventh hour.

And at the end, in a second Superman movie, Luthor is just tired of the replicas and literally does it by himself. Either in the tanky green purple suit or with a serum like the one in All Star Superman. Complete narrative continuity
DUDE - I got chills when Batman showed up to fight Bizarro. Your version of the story just makes sense on every level and it requires minimal tweaking from the film we got.
Holy shit, this is perfect. This idea would've been perfect for BvS. I'm picturing how this idea would play out onscreen. This could've been a great movie, but DC is just trying to play catch up with Marvel. I want DC to succeed but they keep slipping, with the exception of Wonder Woman.
Yeah, but wonder woman was decent. Not great. (well, 2/3 of the movie was great, the end was dramatic, so bad). I have hops for the DC univers, but damn, they made everything wrong. Rushed, Bad Joker, Doomsday to early, a dumb lex...
I honestly agree. They are just playing catch up. If they took their time and built a universe and did it right it’d be amazing. WB needs to let dc have trust and let them do their thing

This is the problem with Writers and fanboys. You guys think you can actually write an entire story.
Given the fact that actual writers and directors were also fanboys.
And that WB with actual writers and directors ruined most of their movies and Marvel basically got a formula that they follow without much art in them, I'd take my chances with fresh ideas and new people.
Not to mention that the video only suggested a different ending only altering a part of the story.
And also that after MoS WB forced Snyder to change certain aspects of the movie because people complained about stuff, hey why do some people die in a movie about alien creatures with endless power fighting on earth? no please change that, and we all know what happened to Justice League.
Also you can learn to become a writer or a director you know.

I have to say, you do a great job of tying the film's themes together and giving the audience payoff by substituting Bizarro for Doomsday. It works SO well that I have to wonder if Bizarro was in the original script and the studio vetoed him because of lack of name recognition or a perception that this character is "silly" (silly in the comics--there's nothing inherently silly about an evil clone of Superman).
Thanks! I think some of it was blended in. I mean Doomsday doesn't usually have heat vision/breath but Bizarro does.

Seriously fantastic re-writes -- your version of BvS is seriously SO good....the fact that you managed to elevate the quality of the movie from like a 4/10 to a 9/10 without changing most of the major beats in the film we got almost makes it hurt to realize how close we were to a seriously awesome Dawn of Justice -- all it would have taken was a little push.
Yeah, I haven't seen BVS but I do know quite a bit about it. And even without that, these rewrites sound awesome!

Sir...you did the impossible. You salvaged what could not be salvaged. Your Bizarro idea, while not solving everything fixes so much. Heck, Lex could have introduced him earlier to frame Superman, and thus validate Batman's paranoia. I also love how you set up a World's finest moment where they both get to fight him. This was the best rewrite of the BvS's third act I've heard so far. WB didn't focus on what mattered and it bit them in the ass. The audience was NOT behind this Superman after MoS (which I liked) but BvS neede to be that payoff we needed. Get people to care about a new Superman so they can miss him when he's gone.

I feel as though somewhere in America, in series of rooms with pictures on comic characters on the wall, strings off yarn running in every direction, there is the Nandoverse. Handling inconsistencies and conceptualizing ways to reintroduce characters to their home universe. After watching your Ultron and Dark World video, and seeing a lack of B.S. X-Men films on this channel so far, I've convinced you've already concocted a way to introduce mutants, the fantastic four, Dr. Doom, Namor and others.
If anyone can introduce the X-Men into the MCU, in a way that satisfies and makes sense, it's Nando.
But I'm honestly not sure anyone can...

How good the movie SHOULD have been! I'm still amazed that a major blockbuster with literal decades of material and experience to draw on even managed to be so bad, especially since it was designed to set up a larger universe and be followed by other billion-dollar blockbusters.
BVS was a masterpiece ..and It's usually failed writers that bash so hard on other artist's work...
I saw the Fatman on Batman podcast with Kevin Smith and he kept trying to talk about what he liked about... I think it was actually the Justice League movie, not BvS, but same difference: Kevin kept trying to talk about what he liked about it (and he said he liked it) but he and his guest kept talking about how it could've been better; every single point they touched on inevitably led to them mentioning other ways the story could've branched off from that point, or built on that point, that would've made more sense, been more true to the characters, and would've been more entertaining.
Even a podcast *attempting* to praise this shit cannot help but discuss - off the top of their head - how to have made it better.
It's fucking astounding that people get paid millions to make these shitty movies that are the worst possible versions of what they could've been. Astounding, and profoundly disappointing.

Your second option was awesome! the fact that in the comics that green kryptonite doesn't work on him could play out and that's why he has to fly him into space and they get nuked. Works perfectly
How Batman V Superman Should Have Ended... Or rather, how it should have been made to begin with.
I've been talking about Bizzaro being the main villain since the movie came out and i agree with your idea. In my version, Bizzaro doesnt appear at the end of the film, instead he keeping appearing throughout. Bizzaro is the reason that batman and superman really fight. So Lex obtains some of supermans DNA from the Zod fight, he combines it with Zods body and manages to create a almost perfect superman copy, someone who looks like superman. Lex controls Bizzaro and makes him do bad shit and turns the people against superman, and lures batman into his trap. Meanwhile Luthor and the media tries to show batman as a criminal and Luthor kidnaps martha and convinces superman that it was batman who took her in order to get to him. Superman and Batman fight, and this time batmans suit is a lot more advance, like ironmans, he can fly and has more kryptonite weapons. Batman uses his most powerful kryptonite weapon and knocks out superman, it seems like he killed him. Lex was watching the fight with a drone and shows up to the scene revealing himself to be the mastermind and Bizzaro shows up holding martha. Batman at first confused by a superman twin but as Lex explains he understands that it was Bizzaro this whole time and thats why superman was trying to kill him. Lex say something about martha dying and that triggers batman and batman starts to attack, batman is getting beaten but he repeatedly uses his Kryptonite weapons and that slowly starts to change Bizzaros features and starts revealing the comic Bizzaro. Batman is tired and beaten by bizzaro and bizzaro goes to kill martha, the sun rises in the background during this and supermans strength starts to come back, bizzao goes for the kill and superman hears marthas scream and get up and stops bizzaros punch and the fight beigns. Batman captures Lex and takes martha to safety. He later joins superman in the fight and they both fight bizzaro. Eventually superman has to take bizzaro to space, they get hit by a nuke, superman falls to earth and gets lost. The Nuke weakens him and the kryptonite takes a toll on him and he loses his powers. He decides to stay in hiding because people are safer if hes not there, he thinks that. Batman realizes his mistake and feels guilty for supermans disappearance. People think he died and makes a Black suit in his honor and keeps in a museum or something. Batman keeps searching for him in justice league while superman slowly recovers his powers. He finally shows up at the end of the JL with a full beard, mustache and the black suit that he took from the museum because his other suit was not nuke proof. The End.
Here's the thing:
If it truly were Bizarro, then he could ONLY improve things. Considering how much destruction Superman caused in his fight with Zod and Doomsday, not to mention acting like a complete fuckhead after being revived in JL, a DCEU Bizarro would be hilarious; he would most likely lead Superman away from populated areas and actually avoid causing collateral damage.
You know someone's fucked up spectacularly when a corrupt clone of Superman would act more heroic than the real thing.

Original movie: Doomsday is the villain and kills Superman, "(while munching on popcorn) Saw that coming." Hypothetical movie: Bizzaro is the villain and Superman somehow dies, "(drops popcorn) I did not see that coming!" Goes to show that by making Doomsday the villain that you by extension made the movie predicable.

Ive watched a couple of your videos, but this one made me subscribe because holy shit this video would have made BvS so much better. It just elevates every aspect that was really lacking in the movie, and i liked the movie! But your ideas are fantastic. I cant wait for your next video.

The problem with dc is that they don’t have a visionary/true fan of the comics like Marvel does with Kevin feige. That means poor direction, bad writing, and a misunderstanding of characters.
And then when Batman and SUperman both punch Bizarro at the same time and he falls to the ground it pans up with lightning flashing in the background as the two heroes stand menacingly and both the Hans Zimmer flight theme and Batman’s theme converge
I absolutely love this guy. I love a positive vibe and energy with comic book movies and content in general, and he provides so even without forgiving bad things for their transgressions. Great voice, great ideas, clearly knows what he's talking about, kind and positive, and just plain entertaining. I hope you get popular, you deserve it.

He tends to take the stories we have and suggest improvements, which I respect, but I'm not sure if original writing is his forte... It very well may be, and he'd probably do just fine... Just a few of my thoughts.
Great take. This, and some deleted scenes that were left out, would've really helped BvS. I have a couple additional notes:
"13-Z-R-O." I like that. Very clever.
While I'll miss Wonder Woman, leaving her out of the fight fixes another glaring problem with it: she's not weak against Kryptonite. Clark could have just given _her_ the killer spear.
I love this rewrite! However, if I was to rewrite the film, I would have made the man who was injured in the Zod fight's name be John Corbin. What if the Zod battle had left him in an even worse state than he was in the film? Luthor offers to rebuild him, like in the original film, but unlike the original, turns him into a full on cyborg, then sicking him on Superman. He could incorporate the robot body with a kryptonite power source, and a lance with a tip made of kryptonite. With his new body made of a super strong alloy, Corbin would become the DCEU's version of Metallo! Perhaps the robot body would have been a Lexcorp project to repair war veterans.

The biggest mistake with the DCEU is they killed Superman way too early. He wasn't even that established as a character, there was no fallout from his death, people hated him and then suddenly started loving him because of his sacrifice, nothing really explained. The Death of Superman was crammed in there with TDKR so Zack Snyder can achieve his wet dream, that's the only logical reason I see. Hell, had they not killed Superman, they could've used him for the marketing of the JL movie and with the recent news about the movie's failure, execs are saying it's because Superman wasn't included in the main marketing campaign. Now if he was they're spoiling the movie and if he isn't people aren't happy because there's no JL without him. BvS as a whole movie is such a mess and as a fan of their movies I have to say they surely needed a more competent director and storyteller. It's what happens when you want to copy the Avengers success over night, it's a shame, they have the best stories, greatest pool of characters and yet somehow they can't make a good movie for the life of them. The more shocking news is how they delayed BvS from 2015. to 2016. to "make the best movie possible." And it still ended up being a terrible mess.
Man I love your content bother. You should think about doing a "starlord isn't starlord" becuase not only is there a bunch of Cyclops space dad, in the him (the mcu version) - But there's like 3 different comicbook versions of starlords that went into him.

Starlord is a really interesting character. Now that you mention it, I wonder what it would be like if the Guardians meet the Starjammers, since they're now both in the same universe.
Nando v Movies it's almost like there's no need for them now that the guardians are this group of space outcasts that come together to form a family. The only difference is the the starjammers are usually portrayed as being on the run from the shi-ar (which judging from the end of guardians 2 is probably going to be the guardians running from the sovuern and Adam warlock)
4 years later, and I keep coming back to this. This is a movie I actually want to see in the future.

Dude when you said the president picking up the phone and Lex answering it saying to nuke Superman while smiling gave me goosebumps. Your video basically did justice to the movie title and also highlighting why Lex is a worthy nemesis to Superman.
Even better - put Lex in the post-credit scene. We don't know who the science advisor is until afterwards ... we find out it's Lex. It was his back-up plan all along.
This would have been a millions times better rather than the actual story of the movie, and I'm a fan of batman v superman.
This is EXACTLY what I've been saying for so long... though a lot more thought out and detailed. It always should have been Bizarro. It makes so much more sense for the story. Also, you've got a nice parallel to Frankenstein's monster with Lex as his creator, clearly defining him as not only a man of science, but one who is willing to do the unthinkable to further his own cause. I pretty much agree with everything you said in this video, so thanks for doing it so I don't have to.
This just sounds… so much better than what we got. Like this just proves there were so many easier ways to set up a fight between Batman and Superman while keeping the general ideas the same

I appreciate that you wanted to keep Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex into the story, but tbh I think that his portrayal was one of the biggest flaws of this movie. He just wasn’t menacing enough, nor really “unhinged” enough to really sell his crazy Lex take. Other than that tho, I really love your ideas in this video!
Your second idea at the end actually gets me on board for Superman dying in this movie because
1) He doesn't actually die, people just assume he does
2) It has Lex actively involved

They thought making it complex and full of unearned symbolism means it's intriguing and deep.
Robin Thrush Yeah, I mean, it can work. We've seen it in comics like Watchmen, that is full of symbolism. But this just wasn't the right way to do it.
Well, the difference is that Watchmen's complexity made sense and had payoffs (unlike Lex's plans that failed so hard with Supes that he had to black mail him) and the symbolism was subtle instead of trying to shove itself down your throat to influence your perception of the characters. I was also mostly being snarky. But, yeah, if you want to know what I'm talking about, think more Suckerpunch than Watchmen since Watchmen was an adaptation and Suckerpunch was Snyder's pet project from his mind.

This fixes a BAZILLION issues with BvS, and the changes would have made for a MUCH more satisfying film. As they say, hindsight is 50/50. But every single one of those twists were ACES. Bravo.

I hate that this is amazing. This is a version of BvS I didnt know I wanted. Thank you Nando. I haven't watched all if your videos but you look at the DCEU critically without being negative or spiteful. I can see a real appreciation of the comics and love of characters from your videos that is sorely needed.
Gah, vids like this are always so bittersweet. On one hand, ideas like this one are good to the point of goosebump-inducing. But on the other hand, we're basically looking at an awesome movie that we'll never get and instead have to settle for a subpar version.

Fantastic video! Bizzaro Superman being the villain makes a hell of a lot of sense. It reminds me of 'Red Son', and how US President Lex Luthor genetically engineered a Bizarro to fight Superman

I personally think that the trigger senario that mad Batman stop trying to kill Superman is, Bats has Clark down (like he did in the movie) and Clark, realizing he may die, starts to cry and says "Please...". Bruce sees Clark's humanity and realizes he may be super powerful but hes still just a man. Bruce apologizes and they have a sort of respect for each other. Really like your rewrites btw.

I actually had simular idea, though I was comming at it from a different angle.
My idea was a Bizarro that start out as just a clone of Superman. He looks like Superman and Lex is using him to frame Superman for something. He is like a week old so when he actually tries to speak he sounds like a child with a grown mans voice, and due to some complications in the cloning process he is unstable and keeps deteriorating throughout the movie, slowly becomming the Bizarro that we know and love.
I also thought about Doomsday being the final form of this deteriorating clone of Superman: His grey skin becomes darker, he start gaining even more muscle mass rappidly, and his bones start growing eventually sticking out of his body in random ways. He is unchecked power run amok, and he is confused and in deep pain.
Søren Sneftrup that's not bad. I like the bizzaro starts off looking like a perfect clone part. Maybe there like I tiny spot on him that looks like crystal or weird somehow, and Mercy or somebody points it out but Lex is too arrogant to think that anything he makes could ever be flawed and so he ignores it (giving us insight into his character)
I love it. That would feel a lot like Identity Crisis, the Superman TAS episode. One of the best ones of the series.
