Great trip to my favorite airfield. I go to Blakeburg and Brodhead. Those are my favorite fly ins. Getting a ride in the Waco and the Spartan was icing on the cake.
Glad you and your sister took a break and saw so many great old planes, props and airplane 'stuff'. Your flights in the antique planes must have been fantastic. Blessings to you.
Wow! That brings back great memories. I went with a mentor of mine, in his WACO ATO back in '82 or '83. One of the my greatest aviation memories. Glad you got a chance to go. Haven't been back since. I knew Kelly when he was young and was friends with his parents. He would remember who I got to fly up with.
@@CulverPropsI had a '46 7AC Champ I kept in Gordon B's T-hangar next to the hangar he kept his WACO Taperwing. This was at Just-in-Time airfield north of Ft. Worth, where Kelly and his family lived.
What a cool event! Looks like that fly market could be disastrous for anyone’s wallet…what a great score that stand was! Thanks for sharing your experience Alaina!
I would have been in heaven if I were to go to a classic air show like that. Maybe someday I'll be over your way check out your little shoo. My daughter's uncle and aunt live west of you in Mount Vernon. I've been to Hill AFB twice, and each time, I still felt like a kid in a Toys-R-Us store Back in July 2021, a 1937 Stinson Reliant, tag no. NC18425 had stopped over at my local airport here in Vernal Utah for the night. As I was driving home from work is when I saw that airplane parked. Of course, I just had to stop and check it out. They invited me inside the fence to check out the old aircraft, which was a huge surprise for me! It was awesome to have been standing next to such an amazing piece of aviation history.
I used to be subscribed with the bell icon set to All , now the bell icon is set to none and I can't change it , I click on All but it immediately reverts to none . Weird . Anyway , glad you had a great day at the airfield and got a chance to fly as well 🙂
@@CulverProps I fixed it by unsubscribing and then subscribing again , bell icon on All again . I guess now I'll show as a new subscriber which is a bit annoying but blame you tube for that .

That looks like a great show. I certainly love my warbirds and modern jets, but there is just something special about open cockpits and fixed gear. 😊
Ah those old dark/light wood laminated props with brass leading edges!!! Works of art!
Most excellent! So glad your back on UA-cam, you have been missed!!!👍

Nice to see you again. Don't make it so long for the next one. Keep on smiling.

Thats awesome. Those old airshows are so much fun! Were you checking out each plane... to see if it had your prop on it? 🤪
No, most were certified
