I have had my 2019 C-HR for five months, and it's a great car. The smaller windows in the backseat would be problematic for kids, but I rarely have anyone in the back. Sport mode helps on the freeway since it's not fast off the line, but I've never had trouble merging. This car handles very well, especially around corners, and it's really fun to drive!
Curves - One of the first things I noticed was the very impressive, SMOOTH effortless way this vehicle handles tight curves. Probably better then any vehicle I've ever owned. Impressive surprise.
I think the small back windows are a positive. They protect your children from the sun here in Australia and they would be less likely to get shattered glass in their face in a crash.
At last some positive view about the back window shape off this absolute beuty.......an a very strong point...well done Toyota five star safety ....kids!
@@heneryjanuarie4936 I bought the car just over a year ago for my wife. She absolutely loves it. The warning lights on the side mirrors are her favourite feature. It's such a solid car, it feels like it grips to the road. Even if you go round a roundabout you don't feel your body being dragged to the side. We are very happy with this car, no regrets whatsoever.
My wife wants this vehicle. But I think it looks way better in silver. Unfortunately she wants it in red or maroon. Oh well, it will be her vehicle anyways. As long as she's happy, that's all that matters to me.
Comming from a prius 2016 to the 2019 CHR, the drivers view is awesome. Very quiet interior, fun to drive the smoothly well controlled ride. Looks like a 100 000 car.
People amaze me. They look at an entry level suv and want a Lotus with Lexus additions. Would a v-6 be great? Sure when your sitting in rush hour traffic doing 25 mph. Would electric seats, sunroof, heated seats and led lights be great? Sure if you want to pay the extra 6/8 grand extra. Would AWD be great? sure for the maybe 2- 3 times you might need it, and bye the way, withAWD you can forget 35/ 40 mpg. Take the car for what it’s worth and what it’s made for and be happy. I own one and love it. It does just what I expected it to do and at a reasonable price.
I’d like to see a follow up with a 2020 or 21 C-HR Limited, because then you have the addition of power leather seats. As someone who is 6’4 with long legs, the C-HR is strangely my only hope of getting back into a Toyota since it has more driver legroom than anything else in the Toyota inventory. The power seats are a big deal for tall drivers. Backseat legroom is irrelevant for many of us not driving with passengers. The backseats would be down for me about 99% of the time. I’d also like to see how it climbs steep grades to see if it struggles.
Great review Jeff! Toyota added some nice features, love the look of the CH-R. Does the CH-R have an option for footwell lighting for both front and back?
I have a 2019 limited CHR and I have a light package that came from the factory which not only has the puddle lights in the mirror with your standard but it has lights underneath the vehicle that come on when you're close to the vehicle with your key fob or when your unlocking the vehicle and go off when you get in the vehicle. It also has front footwell lights that stay on with your headlights and lights in the console and in the interior doors. It does not have lights in the rear footwell
Love the looks.other Reviews don't really say good things about it being fun to drive. I'm also disappointed with gas mileage, even the rav4 has better gas mileage ratings.
I just got my 2019 Toyota CHR blue flame today. I love it. Fun to drive and very unique and very rare vehicle. But i should have waited this summer 2019 because it will refresh in their mid cycle. I believe it will have Corolla hatchback engine with 168 HP with new update CVT. I am not sure. If they do have it then I will trade it in for it. Thank you Jeff for the video. Toyota Thank you.
What would I say about the gas? Well again , you get what you pay for. We are averaging 33mpg on combined driving. If I was to complain about anything, the gas tank could be bigger. I would like more the 300miles (+/-) out of a tank and I would like a little more interior color choice otherwise it’s great for the price.
I wonder how much muscle power it has going up a steep hill, are you able to keep up with traffic or does it slow down in steep hills? I live in Seattle and there are so many hells here, even on the freeways at high speed you need some muscle power to get around wtihout having a tail of cars behind you.
Don't know were that mpg figure is coming from .had mine for a month now . Worse mpg I've seen is 45mpg and the best has been 55 .the car in fantastic on fuel
The CHR has an aggressive sporty look to it. But the engine is so mediocre, creating a car that has such a miss-match between what you except from the way it looks and the power train it houses. I would have really appreciate an engine similar to that of a Camry or RAV4 in CHR.
I'd rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Realistically how often are you going to redline a car? If you're a first responder this ain't the car for you. But for Joe or Jane average, we'll be alright.
I own the C-HR...the 2018 premium version and i really love it. Its not perfect by any means and has tons or room for improvement but its been a great car. That being said...with the hybrid Rav4 coming with awd and getting around 40 mpg.... Ya the C-HR is going bye bye :-)
Well actually CHR does fits in between Corolla Hatchback and RAV4 so CHR is in the middle line up. I am going to the new 2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE becauae I cant afford to get Adventure trim cause it is close to 40k. I love my 2019 Corolla Hatchback and 2019 CHR. Thank you Toyota.
@@Toyotajeff Thank you very much. I love watching your video. It is very helpful. Planning on getting a brand new car such as 2020 Toyota Corolla and 2020 Toyota CHR by December or next year 2020. Still deciding.
@@Toyotajeff By the way, have you seen the refresh of 2020 Toyota CHR online or toyota direct website yet? I cant wait for you to view this new 2020 Toyota CHR refresh on your channel.
I have a 1997 Camry that has 133 horsepower and weighs less than the C-HR that has no problem accelerating on the highway so I don't see where you speed afficiandoes keep saying this vehicle is slow!
Lol this car will get you killed while trying to overtake and get up on the road in Texas. It is incredibly underpowered for such a modern design even the 2020 has an awe full engine.
Best handling Toyota? hahahahahaha. Have you forgotten the existence of the 86? Sure, it [CH-R] goes around a turn when you're driving the speed limit, but up the pace, and you're treated to the endless doldrums of understeer. Even having driven a new Camry at a rapid pace on a good b-road, it has a surprising amount of front end bite and adjustability in the chassis, signs of decent handling. To say this about the CH-R with absolutely no validity is just nonsense. Good and fun video, still, but a lack of understanding in handling and chassis balance
Hmm, don't care for the large, top of dash display, the tail lights or the uncovered front seat sliding rails or the looks of the Limited version seats, otherwise its ok
It’s a nice car and you provided a lot of information that was very useful but next time try to keep it calm and mature with the noises and the running around
