Nashkal village history
Nashkal is a village. Chilpuru mandal is located in Janagama district. Two ponds from above the village join in Nashkal village and flow into Akeru stream.
Sitarama Chandraswami Gutta is located at the birthplace of Akeru Vagu, where Mattadi Dunke is located. Kodanda Ramaswamy Gutta is located at a short distance from the stream. Kodanda Ramaswamy Gutta has four tunnels which are man made. It seems to have been built in the 17th century. It is known that earlier the village was on the second side of the stream. Another check dam was constructed here. The area called Patigadda is next to Avali.
Nashkal mounds have been inhabited by humans since the end of the Stone Age, the microlithic age, the Neolithic age, and the Iron Age. Discoverer Reddy Ratnakar Reddy identified the tools, grooves and chittepu stones of those times. Starting with the Chalukya temple on Gudibanda, the Trikuta temple which is now believed to be of the Kakatiya era, and the caves built in the 17th century, the four inscriptions in them were investigated and documentaries were made.
Lichens, Mayura Shikha and other rare plants are found on the rocks here.
