This tour, this album, they really knocked it out!! If you haven't seen them live yet on this tour definitely do! The new stuff fits so well I to their existing set. Seeing the "GOD" Trilogy set of songs was incredible! Also thanks for watching & commenting! 🤘😎
100% agree! Live was/is way better than the album in my opinion, heck I think the entirety of the new album sounds better live than on the album. I don't really know why but I walked away from both shows I've seen on this album cycle thinking how well the new songs translate live. Also thanks for taking the time to check out the video and commenting 🤘
@Mr.Foggybrain I just think the sound quality and production of the live show is really good whereas on the album it leaves much to be desired, at least for me. I haven't been a fan of the production on the last two albums so when they play these songs live it's like I can hear them the way I imagined they're supposed to be
You literally nailed it and said it perfectly! That's exactly how I feel. Its like you finally get to hear them the way they were intended to be heard lol Idk whats lacking in the production but something isn't quite there until you experience them live. Like you said, the last 2 records had something missing in that aspect.
@Mr.Foggybrain Well, I think they used a different producer on the last two albums and have tried to have a raw sound. To me though, it just comes across as quiet, dry, and thin. If I'm listening to their preview albums it sounds so much fuller and more powerful. It's just a really weird choice for a metal band imo to go the route they have. I have to turn it up any time a song from libad or the stage comes on and even then it just doesn't have the song quality of anything else from the last 20 years or so. Sometimes I feel like maybe the reason I've been able to enjoy but not get into those two records isn't because of the song writing so much as it is the way it sounds.
@@d4rkwest40 agreed, I'd bet that'd be the case for a lot of people who didn't like or connect with the last two albums for sure. Not so much the writing but the failure of the mixer/engineer for the album I'd say. Somethings definitely been lacking since Nightmare album and even Hail To The King album. It really is something within the production side. The Stage is one of the best songs I've ever heard live. So much more heavy and brilliantly executed song live I think.
As a huge prog guy I fucking loved this tour so much
