Nice job! Man, this really jogged my memory about how satisfying it is to get clean headshots. I’m also a huge fan of how accuracy over speed rewards the player
@@Multibrawlr even though he's a bad guy its good seeing the magician in all the house of the dead games he was in but it was a shame he wasnt in house of the dead 3 or scarlett dawn
I had over 97k at the arcade using the light gun, I was convinced it had to be a record at the time. You can get a higher score by not saving all the civilians as the game takes you down longer routes with more enemies to kill. Also a bit of "torture" for the zombies adds to the score. If 2 body hits give 20pts and a head shot gives 110pts then a body hit + head shot gives 120, double head shot enemies can also take a hit or two to the body before dying.
The things about HOTD1 that stands up to me is that how creepy it is without the music (the PC port I always come across was sanitized of music because warez), the "DIE!" sound clip they carried over from Virtua Cop 2, and to this day I still feel the voiceover in this game is not as narmy as I see people always make it to be. For me that's HOTD2's thing more than this game.
I think you will agree with me that house of the dead 1/2 should be ported to mobile because of the touch screen, example: you just have to tap on the zombies.
This game and Cruisin USA were the the main reasons I loved going to the movies with my friends, we played the hell out of these games in the 90s and early 2000s…good times
Not sure why Rogan was so worried about falling off the roof during his battle with the Hangedman... He can fall down random holes, trap doors, and elevator shafts without no problem. I don't see why a tumble off a 4 or 5 story building is an issue
Just like old times in my Childhood 2000s I first saw this when I was little I was too scared l play it seen it in movie theaters. back in 2008 I was too scared to play house of the Dead 4 too many zombies
It should work with mouse immediately once you get the Sega Model 2 emulator and game rom situated. The .ini file in the emulator's directory has a "DrawCross" option that will place a visible crosshair wherever you point with the mouse. Game rom stays zipped and goes in the "roms" folder.
If you liked this video, please check out my no-continue run on The House of the Dead 2! I'm making more light gun videos as well. ua-cam.com/video/REihxCuwQmk/v-deo.html
I hope also wish to see you playing The House Of The Dead III arcade version port instead of the Original XBOX, PC, Wii or the HD Remaster for PS3 using direct capture footage. That is if there is an Emulator for it. There's not many gameplay footages that is crystal clear, mostly cam recordings. Those arcade machines are super rare nowadays around where my location.
It's strange. I've heard this is the hardest game in the franchise from a couple of reviewers and I gotta say it really isn't in fact, it's probably the easiest in the franchise. Like I can get pretty close to the final boss before facing a continue screen.
I guess with many light gun games at first, they seem hard and quarter-munchy, but with practice they can be quite easier. Scoring high in this game is challenging and requires skill, but in my opinion it's a very balanced and fun goal to pursue, once you get consistent at 1CCing it.
@@Multibrawlr I dunno man. HOTD2 immediately steps up the difficulty. I sometimes have a hard time getting passed the first boss. And that's to say nothing of the other sequels in the series which all get even harder after that. I think one of the reasons I gravitated to HOTD1 and Area51 were because I could actually make good headway before needing to shell out more quarters.
@@filipinowhiteboy HOTD2 is a nightmare for sure. I find 4 easy, 3 in the middle, and SD and the remake difficult. HOTD1 is definitely the easiest and most approachable of the games.

I can't have any ROMS posted here and can't really say where you can get it, but if you search for it online, it shouldn't take you that long to find it.
@@Multibrawlr yeah I felt the same. I refunded it after a playththrough because of how unfair it felt. Its good to know that you HOTD experts feel the same and I'm not crazy haha.
@@HappySuperFace There's a lot of people who like it, which I respect, and to be fair I don't think the remake is meritless (it's very loyal to the OG level designs, some of the environments/creatures look cool, and deathless runs are possible). But I would've preferred if Sega let their AM1 arcade division work on this, rather than license this and HOTD2 out to unknown Polish devs who have poor track records.
The House of the dead was totally better arcade game for the original one and what's the point to play the remake one for nintendo switch then the remake one is absolutely poor rating and bad one just because the aiming is really hard to shoot on the remake from the switch and it's really so annoying to play the remake one as well.

Nice score. I tend to rescue all the hostages since the bonus room is worth so many points, and often helps me break 100K.
Still one of the best zombie shoot’em up arcade games ever.
Agreed
Never gets old for me, always a blast!

Great job, man! Now, I really want you to do a high scoring video for HOD 2! Great job again!
Thank you! I'll try my best to get a HOTD2 video up sometime. That game is very hard, though, so it may take some time!
This is best house of the dead hands down a true classic arcade game that deserved a way better remake .
I agree. The remake should've been made in-house at Sega, not licensed out to some third-party Polish developer nobody knows about.
Good job man, really like that you took the diffrent routes in the stages most times I`ve seen the same routes.
Thank you!
"Winners don't use drugs" should be "Winners don't dual wield"
I wish I could try dual wielding this game but I only have one PC light gun and that costed me $400, would have to do it in the arcade instead.

To be fair, the voice acting in this game is OK. It's not hilariously abysmal like HOTD 2, but it's still incredibly hammy and cheesy.
