He stays out of the way of his videos and doesn’t make it about him, although he seems like a really cool guy and I’d have no problem with being in them more, I definitely enjoy his style. There are only a few that can make travel videos and not make it all about them or drama or pushing some product that they got for free and it’s refreshing when you find someone like Matty.

If you really want to do a good job use a two-part epoxy primer. I used spray max brand. Bought at auto paint store. I have cosmetic repairs too but learned to put money into important repairs. But appearance is important too regarding law enforcement.

Matty, glad you are enjoying Oregon. I just got done living five years in a van in San Diego. I’ve gone back to apartment life temporarily in Albany, OR until I retire. As you found out, some places in Oregon aren’t too receptive to van life so that’s why I’m back in an apartment. BTW, when you do a service on the the van transmission just do a drain/filter/fill. I’ve seen too many people have tranny problems after a flush with the machine.
I have 2014 GMC Savana. Other than batteries, tires & oil changes I've done nothing to it. 125K and it just keeps running fine. This van is a workhorses!

I have to agree with you on people just leaving trash for no reason!! When the grandkids were little and I would go down to GA for a few wks to visit at the beginning of summer vacation. We went to a place called "River Bend" near Cussetta, free camping back then and a boat ramp, had restroom and community water area!! And my rule before leaving was we spend at least 30 minutes walking around and picking up trash! The 1st time out there got 4 tall kitchen bags full!! A few days later, went back because they have grills and picnic tables and before leaving gathered up 8 bags stuffed full, because I told the kids I would give them $5 for every bag they filled!! And that was how it went for the next 3 trips out for swimming and cooking out for the day!! It's still free to day camp, but there is now a $5 a night to stay over!! Might want to pull the pop-up next time we go down, save on that motel fee!! I really liked it out there!!!
If you ever get a chance go out in a Catamaran..at least 18ftr..I raced them in small craft advisory wind on Winnipesaukee in NH..total rush..I water skied behind it on truck skis..total blast

Those brackets you can sand down real good and treat them with a rust inhibitor then spray them down with a truck bed liner paint. Super durable and the textured look will hide any imperfections. They’ll look brand new again!
*Love it when van lifers spontaneously break into song!* Have you ever compared a common rent price to the cost of what you're paying to live now? I've been trying to wrap my head around the similarities/differences for a couple weeks to help plan out my experience. I'm thinking that the cost of campsites, gym membership, harvest host or other subscriptions, fuel & maintenance would all count toward our "rent" - what else would you add to that list?
i have saw lots of trash at sites. most of the time its a site that is close to a town. the drunks go there on the weekend and leave lots of trash. if you go where hard core campers are you will see less trash. IMHO
Me either I pay a very low mortgage , travel when ever I want . The difference is Matty, my property now worth well over qtr million I'm debt free now can travel world.
It has been a great day in the Northwest. I wish I could be at the meet-up. But care providing is still keeping me home till next year. The trailer is sitting in the driveway, and I'm longing for the open road and nature.

It doesnt look like a camper. these vans are unregisterable in America because the motor is under the front seats. apparently its dangerous over there but not here or japan, amazing

Take the mounts off and have them powdercoated. They will blast them and remove rust first ir take off and have them blasted primer and paint them. Rattle can is ten bucks a can now. Crazy

Matty don’t use WD40. It attracts dirt. Best thing to use is Boeshield T9 Rust and Corrosion Protection /Inhibitor and Waterproof Lubrication!
