Another good update as always, that was a very interesting look at how the seed is treated . The little sprayer was very impressive too, can't wait for the Sunday update and keep the pressure on the EA .
Cracking update again Andrew. That little sprayer is a nice bit of kitt isn’t it? Can’t wait for Sundays video now and see what’s going on with Henry, 😊
i wouldn't hold your breath on the government coughing up. poor pensioners lost their payments while the migrants live in luxury. that seed treater looks the the business. keep up the good work Andrew autumn is here now.
Thanks Andrew, another good update. Great to see the seed being cleaned and prepared for drilling. The sprayer is a nice bit of kit, it will be interesting to see it being used. Looking forward to Sundays update.
Andrew. Well done for highlighting EA short comings, with the state of the economy that labour keep blaming previous Government(s) for, I am concerned for Godson Henry getting any money. You are quite right about accountability, this applies to all governmental departments. keep the pressure on, we are behind you in support.
Crickey that atv sprayer is blummin impressive! Regarding a bag lifter could you not get some tube sleeves with a dome end made to slip over the forks when needed with a suitable locking device. Could then be stored on the patio for log rolling pratice when there's a family gathering. Thanks Andrew
Andrew, I did say at that time that they would come with their clipboard nod their heads, go back to their cosy office and do absolutely nothing, so I for one am not at all surprised that nothing has been done. I feel so sorry for Henry and can only send him my best wishes.
Great video Andrew, did I hear that Labour have taken money out of Defra as the last government's didn't use it all🤔 I will look forward to Sunday video!!
Only through voices like yours, will anyone be they Environment Agency, or politicians, hear them. Henry's business by right, should receive financial support, and the payment should come from the EA's budget.
We may have a new government but its the same old sorry government department. I doubt there will be any noticeable change under labour as they are too busy trying to keep the various striking factions pleased. There needs to be a huge outcry as to how the EA has been allowed to turn its back on agriculture. Sadly its very much a case of "same shit, different day". Sorry to say this on your vlog Wardy.
Interested for you to explain drilling at seeds/ m², we're still using kg/ha or cwt/ac. To me it seems that weight/ area compensates for smaller less viable seeds by putting more seeds on; but I also don't fully understand drilling at seeds/m²
The winnowing machine is a bit different from the one I remember from 1950s ! Do you allow for seed numbers and stalk production in evaluation of plot performances? Great video.
Ironic that SFI payments coming through and yet nothing when your farm has been devastated by flooding. EA not accountable, all the people (Senior EA staff, MP's) you met simply gave empty promises, plus no response from new Ministers. From what I read elsewhere I don't think current Ministers and DEFRA have any clue on the national drop in food production due to environmental schemes. Add to that challenges with climate and world events food security needs to be at the top of the agenda.
I only thought the other day that it's been a while since we've had an update on Henry, the floods, the remedial works. Had to laugh or rather despair at the "Back British Farmers" at Westminster where the woman rep was asking people presumably going into the Houses of Parliament what the crops were that she had there. One presumably a "he/ him" says well the top looks a bit like a lettuce and the bottom looks a bit like a potato. No it's a sugar beet actually which is used to make sugar. I don't think that fella at Westminster will be of much use to British agriculture. In fact of all the people interviewed at Westminster in the video's your local school kids were easily comparable or more knowledgeable. God help us.
All this ‘back British farming’ from MP’s makes me laugh, they think being photo’d sat in a gleaming tractor in Westminster, with a Wheatsheaf pin badge on their lapel and saying ‘I support our farmers, we need them for our countryside and food supply’ and then vote against us at every opportunity, makes my blood boil. Actions speak far louder than words and we’re well short of actions. 🤬🤬
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard It's all just show boating and photo opportunities for these career parasites. Can't you have a word with Bayer for example to see if they have or can develop a selective pesticide to deal with politicians, EA management and any other pests/ parasites.
Does it matter if ergot is in the seed ? Thought it was like a fungus in the plant or does it spread. Not an arable man so a genuine question. Many local farmers have had a problem with ergot this year round us
The amount rewilding, SFI Is getting out of hand, farmers complain about imports but with the amount of food production going down what do they expect……..
Dont hold your breath waiting on a Labour MP giving you any assistance Andrew, you look like a law abiding British citizen to me, No chance of help sir.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard that principle is fairly common now, it allows for personalisation I suppose. Personally, I prefer a dedicated control for each function with appropriate symbol identification. Much like looking at a keyboard rather than remembering which key is where. Think how frustrating a communal farm van would be if it was possible to swap indicator and wiper stalks to suit ones preference 🤦🤬🤐
Is EA and acronym for Everything (Everbody?) Awful 😹 Poor Henry, Farming is tough enough without bureaucrats adding to the pain. I confidently predict it will get worse under Labour.
Put the forks on your telehandler upside down, that will give you an idea how you get on with a bag lifter. Will not be long until you need a pilots licence to operate all this hi-tec farm machines. Don't hold your breath for flood relief money from the moronic Labour government, unless of course you are a train driver
Another great video.
The EA think a change in administration at Westminster will forget about them. keep the pressure on Andrew and i'll see you on Sunday
Great video as ever Andrew, keep the pressure on the EA.
That little sprayer is excellent. A lot of tech in a small package.
Keep up the pressure on issues with the EA, and the flood relief payments.

Lovely to see a local farmer and showing the good and bad parts of farming
Great content as always. Wise words regarding the environmental issue. 👍
great stuff
Great video Andrew the ATV sprayer is a very call bit of kit

Hi Andrew, some big cracks in the ground while ye where explaining about the sprayer.
Andrew, I did say at that time that they would come with their clipboard nod their heads, go back to their cosy office and do absolutely nothing, so I for one am not at all surprised that nothing has been done. I feel so sorry for Henry and can only send him my best wishes.
Great update! When will you begin drilling crops?
When we get some decent rain!!
Great video Andrew, did I hear that Labour have taken money out of Defra as the last government's didn't use it all🤔

Will talk about that on Sunday.
Only through voices like yours, will anyone be they Environment Agency, or politicians, hear them. Henry's business by right, should receive financial support, and the payment should come from the EA's budget.
Does Reuben ever fall asleep whilst counting the seeds? 😂
I hope not!!
Wonder if that spray technology will go onto full size sprayers eventually if not already available. But at what cost ?
An drew did you take all I that in there will be a quiz later 😮

Will go through it in next week or 2
12:58 - "We all put a lot of weight on " - this also relevant to Cousin Michael & James @PX ??!
😂😂😂😂👍

Yes we do.

Does the Agrii seed cleaner ensure that any ergot is removed?
No, we’d need another machine to take that out first. Lucķily we don’t have any, or very little.
Does it matter if ergot is in the seed ? Thought it was like a fungus in the plant or does it spread. Not an arable man so a genuine question. Many local farmers have had a problem with ergot this year round us
Ask PX farms on ergot
@johnwarwick4105 huge problem this year and some say it’s not helped with blackgrass issues, maybe that’s why we don’t have ergot. ?
James told me about his issue when I was with him
The amount rewilding, SFI Is getting out of hand, farmers complain about imports but with the amount of food production going down what do they expect……..
Hi Andrew, is the seed tested in the lab first to make sure it makes the grade
Germination % is
Maybe the EA are dragging there heals until they get a pay rise .Reward for failure isn't that how it goes !

25 functions on one joystick with no labelled buttons is a serious memory test - not operator friendly at all
It’s a prototype and not finished and there’s a joystick function diagram on the screen.
