I think we are at the point where as long as you got SA keycaps, tape mod, and some PE foam or noico, your board will sound at least half decent regardless of the price. Mod the stabs, or even better, upgrade them if possible, and you're set. It's insane how affordable this hobby had become.
bonus points if you upgrade the switches... super bonus if you lube them.

@@selectiveamnesia1033 tbh I've heard some that arent too bad. But that board isnt meant for people looking for perfect sound signature. I think it's more meant for people just starting who want an easy experience in terms of purchasing everything you need in one spot. That being said, there are some mods that will make it sound much better. unfortunately it seems to nerf the sound of any switch you put into it. Most GMMK pro's sound the same.
Yeah, no problem at all. I can't wait for you to post a link of a SA keycap set with ISO DE layout so I can enjoy it, too ;) But I guess you're right as long as you go with standard ANSI.
actually sounds pretty nice lol. When i see these types of videos i feel so bad for people who spend over a 100 on a razer or a corsair.
The prebuilt name brand boards cost as much as customs at 1/20th of the quality. I can think of no justification for their price.

Not defending corsair or razer, but y'all damn well know people in this hobby be spending several times more than those buying pre-builts on switches and keycaps alone lol. These custom mechanical entry boards are just gateway drugs to spending WAY more than your avg Razer costumer on keyboards.

@@LeReveurY still, entry boards are miles ahead, and if you do decide to keep spending more and more on boards, for the most part you at least will be able to notice the money you spent in relation to quality/features
I like to imagine that Shoobs actually records all his intros instead of recycling it and just fucks up the spelling and talks over it exactly the same every video.
Oh boy, more budget keyboard videos for me! Mayhaps one day I shall own a mechanical keyboard all my own... Really, though, I was looking at a skyloong and I was wondering if it was good or not, and now I know a way to make it better if I decide to go that route.
Perhaps consider a 65% keyboard instead because personally I prefer having the arrow keys
@@flame60 Yeah, I've mostly been thinking 65% - 75% on keyboards. The one at the top of the list right now is a Keychron K6

You can add bluetac in the space bar to add a little weight + delete the pinging

most pcbs are esd protected so just use plain white 1.0mm pe foam
Try using it on your smartphone or just use a multimeter

iso.specific people, no keycap sets under 50 bucks (which are like 4 sets), rest not under 80 bucks.

The best invest you can make as someone with the iso pinky is a 3D printer or a mould making kit

There are multiple sound signatures for a keyboard. Thock, Thocc (thicc thock), Thack (thock on bottom out, clack on top out), Thacc (thock on bottom out, clack on top out but THICC), Clack, Clacc (thicc clack) Clock (clack on bottom out, thack on top out) and Clacc (clack on bottom out, thack on top out but THICC)

i’m using the gk64xs with kbd alopow60 case. doesn’t even look like a gk board. looks so premium and the aesthetic is beyond my imagination 🤤. maybe tofu60 case would also look awesome. and tbh plastic case will always sound the THOCKIEST :3
Do you keep the battery of the kit for bluetooth functionality after changing case?.

I have a gk61 and I fucking snapped the plate into three pieces and the middle section has no plate literally glued the switches in, literally fit in three layers of kitchen towel, cut off almost all of the standoffs, and fill the bottom with pennies, it thocks 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
