Traditional Greek Dance II

There was a variety of regional Greek dances presented at the Dora Stratous Dance Theater in Athens culminating in their final performance of the season around the end of September. In this particular dance, I couldn't help but think there was Middle Eastern influence in the style and presentation of the dance since the Ottomans and Turks had occupied Greece for nearly 400 year adding a cultural layer to Greek expression for this particular dance. The costumes representing the different regions were beautifully done and ranges from the the classic Greek tunics with the many pleats to colorful vests.
